Better installation techniques. In my area we have a lot of tract homes that have to meet a deadline when being built. So no time to follow all of the proper procedures necessary. Like nitrogen use for one. That coupled with the lowest bidder usually getting the job, so lack of training.. low wage workers not knowing better and bosses rushing to meet deadlines. I often times see drain lines not installed properly , duct work hanging loose and not strapped or sealed , issues with electrical not to mention countless refrigeration issues. 😎🤙🏽
What he said, but much of it also has to do with continual maintenance on the homeowner's side - especially in regards to the compressor. TXV is 100% victim to installation practices (and manufacturer QC) but the compressor is victim to installation AND day-to-day use. Failing to keep air filters clean, not keeping the condenser coil (outdoor unit) clean, running the cooling during low outdoor temperatures or set too low at the thermostat (can/will freeze indoor coil), and not having continual maintenance of the electrical components by a service company can all very easily shorten the life of a compressor dramatically. All of which are also preventable with good maintenance scheduling.
Yes sometimes if manuf requires it. If the start components are there and factory installed I would replace them. It’s best practice , if LRA is above manuf specs as well you can add one and it will help. Scrolls don’t necessarily need hardstarts as opposed to recip compressors
nice work.
Thank you!
mind explaining how its preventable? and what to do
