    Love your videos. Thanks for breaking things as well as you do. I was in college studying recording engineering back in the late '80's - and we were constantly trying to replicate Mutt's production tricks with analog gear! It's fun 35 years later to have so many of his secrets revealed by you. Cheers!

    Uncannily similar to Def Leppard to the point where I could hear Joe's rasp and cadence in there, even though it was a very Not-British, not-Joe Elliot vocalist on the mic. Super super cool

    Great stuff Bobby! Definitely inspires a different way of thinking, how the blending of individual parts that alone would make no sense can create a powerful unique sound!

    ❤Again , another awesome tip you shared Brother.. I love the term “characters!!! “,
    It definitely differentiates the difference between “Common backing Vox” and “Vox with an
    Attitude” brings the song more to life ,good stuff !!

    Tight vocals there Dr.! I wonder why Mutt doesn't do interviews. It would be so cool to hear him tell stories about the records he's made. Does he just not want to give secrets away? Shy? Too busy? I would love to know.

    Superb Sir. Ive taken so much of what you have shown and added it to my songs. On my £500 PC and limited software, it great to see how its actually done. If i get over 1k streams, im happy! And i bought your Leppard Kit sound.... On the Lepp sound, Did MUTT use MIDI bass? Its sounds too perfect for a picked BASS....

    I"m hoping you'll respond to this question. How do you have all the characters panned? I saw you do a video on this a while back but it wasn't as in depth. I've done it for part of an outro of a song and it works great. I realized just now that I should have done a lot more tracks to get my "crowd" sound.

    • @BobbyHuff
      @BobbyHuff  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey Jeremy. These were all hard panned.

  • @GudlaugurMusic

    Do you normally do the compression and delay on the busses? I get conflicting information about this. Spoke to one Engineer who does his major compression and eq only on individual tracks with perhaps only light bus compression and maybe some air with a pultec on the bus. I am going to start doing my reverbs and delays on the vocal bus rather individual tracks. It kinda makes sense as they would all appear in one room. Thanks.

    Hey, I'm new to your channel. I'm not trying to be a dick, but the quality of the audio recording of your voice at the beginning of the video-boomy, echo-y, recorded-in-an-untreated-room-with-a-tile-floor-y-kind of makes me think that anything you have to say about recording is probably garbage, since if you knew what you were doing you wouldn't release such terrible-sounding content. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems a little hard to accept-I can record better audio than that, and I'm an idiot who isn't very good at recording.
