As a younger child, I used to go in wayback machine and visit apple’s website. Always found it so cool. I miss 00’s Apple as it just had more character and soul than the products do now. Apple went from a slightly odd, cool, and unique company to just “the standard.” Sure I love my current suite of Apple devices and most likely wouldn’t trade them for the alternatives, but they dont feel as special as they once did.

Apple’s website is one of my favorites to just go ahead and browse. Only behind Mercedes-Benz and maybe Best Buy. I like the variety and customization of those two. The Apple website is simple, yet easy to navigate, nice to look at, and user-friendly to just tap around and explore. It’s very nice.
Apple was the biggest obsession of my childhood (still is, perhaps even more) and watching your videos always give me that fuzzy warm nostalgic feeling lol.

Sorry I hate to break your bubble, but actually that first website of Apples you show in the early 1990s was in fact very ahead of its time and of the moment. They were using image maps with transparency and framesets which were very very new when they used them, they were actually cutting edge at the time.

Having shadows on things isn't what skeuomorphic means. It's when it's trying to imminate real things. Like a bookcase for storing ebooks, etc. Shadows and lighting are common in ui, including non skeuomorphic ui.

Wow it's now 6 years we've had the flat design (the first design that Apple was led by the trends of the times, rather than creating something new themselves. They didn't invent 'Flat' design like they did with the others, I remember Google having way before Apple), I wonder what the next one is that you'd imagine is on it's way soon. I would suggest more 3D and transparency effects while still being pretty flat.

I'm disappointed that you show a version of our prize computers of the time when you talk about how Apple's product line was "large and fragmented." As commercial desktop publishers/graphic designers we knew exactly what we wanted when we upgraded from our trusty Macintosh IIsi. We bought the Performa 638CDV for me and my wife got a Performa 637CD which was Exactly the same machine but she wasn't interested in the TV card in mine. Your image actually seems to be the PowerPC version of these models which we were studiously avoiding at the time.
They have to make a (sleek, nice-looking, homekit-compatible, iCloud storaged) security line. *Security cams* (Facial recognition connected to Face-ID from familymembers, via bluethooth like the Airpods the security cam knows who passed by even without seeing the face simply by passing by with iPhone, AppleWatch etc.) *Tags* (Tells if doors or windows are open. Via bluetooth the tags see who passed by) *Smart-lock* (Easily open and close doors and windows via Apple Watch, iPhone etc.) *Doorbell* (Could give iPhones, HomePods etc. give a 2nd use as a doorbell. They can integrate FaceTime with the doorbell) *Home App* (Apple could make a “Family” app or connect Family with the Home app. You can see who is at home, send easy push-notifs, etc.)

Was iOS 7 really that controversial? I remember everyone I knew was excited to update their phones the day it came out
It was controversial, cause it had a lot of flaws, the operative system was buggy and slow, mainly on the iPhone 4 and 4S, and the other thing that it was controversial was the flat UI that a lot of people did not like....

Having shadows on things isn't what skeuomorphic means. It's when it's trying to imminate real things. Like a bookcase for storing ebooks, etc. Shadows and lighting are common in ui, including non skeuomorphic ui.

I would say that the original Mac was the boldest computer Apple (or anyone) has made, but yeah, the iMac G3 was pretty good.
Wow it's now 6 years we've had the flat design (the first design that Apple was led by the trends of the times, rather than creating something new themselves. They didn't invent 'Flat' design like they did with the others, I remember Google having way before Apple), I wonder what the next one is that you'd imagine is on it's way soon. I would suggest more 3D and transparency effects while still being pretty flat.
