    What a great production. What a pity your channel doesn't have more views and more subs. Stupid YT algorithms.

    I live in The Gap. I’ve been thinking of doing something like this. Walking not biking so I’ll cover less ground. Thanks mate. Your efforts are motivational.

      Paul Kennedy thanks for the comment. It'd be a pretty good walk from the Enoggera Dam end of Payne Rd up to South Boundary bush camp. The first 1km or so is the steepest!

    Really cool! I've been thinking about doing this but on the tracks around South Boundary Road, maybe stealth camping too somewhere appropriate.

    Hey mate! I did this exact ride last weekend inspired by your video. It's a great camp there at light line road! I made the huge mistake of going down township break to try get between light line road and South boundary road to no avail. Dead end with a scramble back uphill. I've head the northbrook camp is great as well. Tried that one at all?

    • @VeloCetera
      @VeloCetera  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Day Hi Aaron, totally stoked you went out and did this after watching the vid - super cool! I've not done Northbrook, however I've heard it's a majestic spot with a million dollar view. I've blocked out a weekend later in the year to give it a go. I really is an underrated cycle camping destination up around there. Cheers, L

      Yes township break is not suited for bikes.

    More ambient sound and less cowboy music might be nice. Still, I did enjoy your short jaunt.

    I liked this spot, I want to go :) I have a question. I'd like to stay a night in there but I want to walk no by bike so my question is where do you recommend park my car and obviously start to walk from there? I'd appreciate it😀

    You have inspired me to ride the rail trail...... one question though, what tyres should I use, I'm thinking 700c cyclocross 32 or 35.... don't need a a mountain bike really?

    • @VeloCetera
      @VeloCetera  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Selendrake74 thanks for the comment. I reckon cyclocross will be perfect and mountain bike is not required. I've used 32 and 35 on the bike in the video for the past 7 years or so on lots of offroad trails with no worries. Currently using 35s and will continue with that size. I would recommend talcing tubes / tyres so you can run low pressures if you choose without getting pinch flats. I sometimes go as low as 45 front 60 rear if taking bike on rocky mountain bike single trail. Have a great time :)

    Hey mate what tyres are you running on your bike for this video? I've only ever ridden mountain bikes out there and it's quite rocky (stony) in parts. Inspired now to give it a go on the touring bike, maybe:)

    • @VeloCetera
      @VeloCetera  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dean, give it a go, the old touring bike goes pretty well. I use Schwalbe Marathon Mondials ( www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/road_tires/marathon_mondial ) in 700x35 size. I've found them excellent over a lot of different terrains, the edge grip seems to hook up particularly well when the bike is leaned over. They can also be run very low and still roll well, I often run at about 45psi front and 60psi rear with no worries.

    hey, did you treat the water at all? or just drink straight from the tank?

    • @VeloCetera
      @VeloCetera  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, I treated the water with a steripen on that occasion, however during the wet months I've drank it straight from the tank with no drama.

    Do you think it's necessary to wearing a bike shoes?(I thinking about but a new one)

    • @VeloCetera
      @VeloCetera  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cai, I don't think they're necessary - I am used to them from XC mountain biking many years ago and I've continued using them from there out of habit. I like the pedal control and even power and will continue riding clipless, but taking an extra set of shoes with me for off the bike is a pain. I do have a set of Blackspire pedals on one of my bikes ( www.blackspire.com/product/sub-four-pedals/ ) for normal shoes and I think they're a good alternative for cycle touring.

      Brenda The Amazing Hi Brenda, edits take a couple of hours but I usually have a good idea of the shots I will use and how they'll fit together before I begin. I edit using Premiere Pro.
