Panama is one of the countries I am interested in visiting now that I am retired. They have a good retiree visa. I was more interested in the cooler areas in the north, but being in a big city has a certain appeal.

Pamana is such a good choice for ex pats. Central time zone; short flight from many US cities. It is on my retirement list for sure!

Well that was unexpected.. didn’t realized you moved that far south. We are in central Florida and definitely looking to move/retire in Spain/Portugal areas..
so I’m very interested in why you guys moved to panama?

I'd been wondering for awhile about your apartment because what little I could see behind you in your videos looked really nice. The rest did not disappoint! Although Panama City is modern with all the amenities of a modern city, it is still in Panama, so I wonder how people like me (who forgot all the Spanish I learned in school) would do there. Is some level of Spanish proficiency required?

Wow!!!! A place like this in LA is $6,000 + a month. I’m looking to move there temporarily, how is the rental process? Do they check your income before applying for apartments?

Is this on Balboa or Punta Patilla? love the loft style but not had the chance to stay in one. I have stayed in a number of places on Balboa. I think Destiny and Yacht Club have been my favorite buildings.

What a twist! Love your channel, enjoy watching financial information. But what an unexpected move on your part from B.C. to Panama.
I follow the news and any practical information about this country and hope to retire there in 2-3 years. The big city and heat is not for us, so probably will investigate the Boquete area. Are you tourists there or on a Friendly Nations Visa? So many Canadians decided that is much better to become a digital nomad!

How much does it cost on maintenance fees? i imagine due to the poor and unused amenities should be rather low? If so, that is another positive rather than a negative.

I haven't run the numbers but it seems considerably cheaper to rent than to own in Panama. I look at owning from the opportunity cost. It seems you're tying up a lot of capital that may or may not appreciate. I live in California and it is way cheaper to rent.

Panama has several different visa programs depending on what you plan to do. For me the retirement visa is pretty nice and comes with a lot of discounts and perks. On perk is a travel discount on flights. There are other visas for people who are working which I haven’t really looked at.
I think a lot of countries have developed visa’s for remote workers since the pandemic
