- In this Cost Estimation series, I'll be teaching you how to estimate the cost of reinforced concrete elements. This includes estimation of concrete, steel, and formwork quantities, also BOQ preparation for these items, and then cost estimation for the structure works in terms of materials, equipment, manpower and subcontractor.

But, if any cases let say for extra bar or other add rebar in the beam, add ties, maybe custom shape of beam, how do you calculated using by your steel formula calculation?

Mr. Ahmed I have a doubt in the steel calculation sheet. how will you use this steel calculation sheet for the beam steel calculations, for long span beams where it has steels such as top extra at both ends, middle extra bar, bottom curtailed bar, bent up bars, and stirups for both end stirups and middle stirups with different center to center. If you explain how to use your sheet for these calculations in your next video will be much better and help in using your sheet. thank you .
What I usually do is that in case there is extra reinforcement I add half of it to either top or bottom reinforcement. For example if the steel is 3T14 bottom and extra 2T14 midspan I add 1 to the 3 and I put 4T14 in the sheet. Similar for stirrups if you have different numbers near support and midspan take half the near support and add it to the midspan. It will give you weights that are very much near from actuals. For ordering the steel to the site you have to do bar bending schedule and calculate the steel in much deeper details 👍👍

I have a question please reply. In the steel excel there you put nos of steel in bottom reinforcement column. But what if in my plan they dont show numbers of bar but c/c distance. Like 16T@125mm c/c
