  • Shoring is a very important part in construction specially today when most of the buildings are having basements and deep excavation that must be retained. There are different types of shoring and here I explain the contiguous pile shoring system and how to estimate its cost.

    Hi, do quantity surveyors prepare bills of quantities for M&E Works or is part of M&E engineer works? Are there any guidelines for preparing a BOQ for M&E Works? thk

    Hello, I'm not an engineer but Iam pretty good with math. I am trying to make an estimation for a small project in my yard. I would like to know Where do you find the rate and the manpower cost for your country??

    there may be a little mistake in the calculation of your dia bar, kindly correct me if im wrong please (2x3.14xd/2)=(2x3.14xr2)=2x3.14x0.225= 1.413Lm as against 1.88Lm

      I don't know if it is the full document or not.

    Hello sir, great video as always. I just have a query. In the last part, you divided 1/0.60 = 1.67 piles. Why did you divide one (1) by the diamater?

    • @CEPQS
      @CEPQS  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 🙂. 1 linear meter devised by the diameter of one pile gives you the number of piles per linear meter 👍

    • @johncat6126
      @johncat6126 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CEPQS I get what you’re trying to point out sir. This means that this unit cost/linearmeter is applicable on different diameters of piles right?

    • @CEPQS
      @CEPQS  ปีที่แล้ว

      See the reason we calculate the number of piles per linear meter is that when multiplied by the total length you get the total number of piles in the project and when that is multiplied by one pile cost you get the project total amount

    • @CEPQS
      @CEPQS  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pile cost and number of piles per linear meter will sure vary if the diameter change

    • @johncat6126
      @johncat6126 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CEPQS Ahh. Got it. So this computation is like a simplification instead of direct counting all the pile heads for the project. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Btw I am a practicing quantity surveyor in the Philippines and your videos are very much applicable to my job and greatly help me in improving skills needed in the job. Keep up the work sir!!!
