@@peacockgirl1740I do to! If you know the brand loreè, you can book an appointment and fly to paris at 48 Rue de Rome I believe. I’ve been there over the summer and got the chance to play their high end oboes and english horns. You should go, it will be very exciting for the starter - intermediate oboist like me. We have a very common goal, I’ve played on 2 of the 12 that exist. Oboe, English horn, oboe d’amore, bass oboe, heckelphone, Piccolo oboe in F, Oboe musette (piccolo) in Eb, Luphophone, Oboe de Caccia, baroque, Weiner oboe, Oboe in A and probably more. I think you should look into reed making soon, fun but expensive experience. Look into Richard Graf oboe machines and you could save yourself some money.
I started out in beginner band as oboe, and half a year in i started homeschooling. I loved oboe enough that I practically begged my parents to rent/buy an oboe for me to learn, and now i am trying to teach myself how to play. It helps my mom and best friend play flute since fingerings are similar, but trying to learn a double reed instrument by yourself is definitely an ordeal. My parents said i may at some point start getting lessons.
My band is doing “clarinets packing up early” and there is one part where that take their mouth pieces and just blow into it and I can’t stop dying of laughter from it 😂😂😂
As the oboist at my school, I can confirm that the multi harmonics note is my favorite a close one to when you roll your tongue on the top of the instrument.
I play oboe in an orchestra. When u was in the juniors, u can confirm, the squeaks sounded like dying ducks, ended up with me not playing cause i was in fits of giggles.
I just started playing oboe. At my school they pick two people to play oboe, and I was one of them. I originally played Clarinet and the octave switches were insane
Biggest flex is it took me 1 month to start sounding better on oboe and after a year I sound really good (Sorry I need to brag under the place where my existence is being acknowledged.)
Helppp I played oboe for a few years before quitting (not into music enough to play two instruments, having to play clarinet during marching season) and the beginner squeaks were AWFUL
I’m a music Ed major, primary instrument is trumpet but been taking oboe lessons so I can help my double reed students. Harder to find someone for them that knows half of what they are talking about vs any other instrument. Making reeds now and that’s a fun challenge.
As a oboe its honestly really hard lol! Right now we are learning the whole jingle bells song and its painful to the fingers. Its pretty hard to memorize mouth movements and how hard to blow! And then the reeds are very delicate and $25 bucks off on swisegoods! I deffinately reccomend buying off of sweet water! Edit: we learned jollly ol saintnick, jingle bells, up on the housetop and ode to joy and our concert is soon!
If I had to be honest I’m in 6th grade and I play in the 6th and 5th grade band and I play the Oboe when I first started that was correct I sounded like that but now it’s been 2 years and I’m really good , recently another oboe joined and I need to help her because when she does that the band director does not like it .
Oh my gosh, my daughter just took up the oboe this year. Pretty accurate, not going to lie 😂 it's okay, we love the learning that's going on. It's all good.
the iconic 🦆 sound only rivalled by the ominous clarinet squeak
That's usually produced by me 😂
@@AthenaWisdom7me too 😂

Lol 😂
Same, I remember those days. I could not even play hot cross buns and I still cant.
Flute=💨🐦
Oboe=🐤🤧
Clarinet=🦆🥴
Sax=🪿🪿🪿
Edit: what is a basson😅
Clearly a flute glazer
Bassoon = the forgotten woodwind
As a sax player, I can confirm we occasionally become geese
as a flute, i approve this message
No!! CLARINETS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A FLUTE!! NO THEY ARE BETTER
my assistant band director told us to play any note for an articulation and i did multiphonics on purpose
i love multiphonics lol
That’s actually great, I should do that!
omg lol
🖐 I play the oboe I'm no longer beginner and I'm hopefully gonna be able to play the English horn soon
I hope you get the chance. English horn is so much fun to play. I've had a few chances. It's kind of addicting.
@@mattbongiovanni6069 I hope so to ik ima love it I really wanna play all the odoes in the family but my band director only has the English horn

How do I you switch to English horn I’m tired of oboe
OBOE REPRESENTATION YAYYYYYYYYY
I was just offended and embarrassed at the same time😅
lol my band director embarrsses the whole band...

@@3_Starsaremylife_3 the way it goes yeepyeepyeepyeep 😭
Been playing Oboe for 7 years, relatable. 😭 😭 😭
Heyyy, it is one of the hardest instruments to play. Everyone goes through the awkward learning stage haha!
As an oboist, I can confirm beginner oboists sound exactly like that
I am a beginner oboe player!! I can confirm this is how I used to sound, but i’ve learned to control it 😼
FINALLY ITS MY ✨️TURN✨️
As the oboist at my school, I can confirm that the multi harmonics note is my favorite a close one to when you roll your tongue on the top of the instrument.
As an oboe, REAL. Oh the days where I almost passed out from playing. So nostalgic.
I play oboe in an orchestra. When u was in the juniors, u can confirm, the squeaks sounded like dying ducks, ended up with me not playing cause i was in fits of giggles.
Cant wait to learn oboe next semester. Ive played sax for a decade now and i know oboe is gonna be a struggle. Especially because i play the bari sax
So relatable. I sit next to an oboe
Oh you should see the ONE oboe in our class 😂😂❤
As a person that switched to bassoon after playing flute for years, this is very true
As an oboe (been playing around 3 years now) i still sound like this somtimes lmao
It is so true as an oboe player in the beginning it can sound like a dying duck! I love the representation for this amazing instrument!
I just started playing oboe. At my school they pick two people to play oboe, and I was one of them. I originally played Clarinet and the octave switches were insane
There’s this oboe in our school who is the definition of “guys I swear oboes don’t sound this obnoxious”
Oml that’s so true. I used to play oboe before I played bassoon and that’s what I sounded like. It was BAD
✋ I do, but it sounds more like a car than a chicken. 🤣🤣
In our band class we only had 2 oboes so during our class concert one of our oboes cake played while the other only squeaked
I’m starting oboe in 4 days!!!
I STARTED TODAY 🎉🎉🎉 I’m better than that tho
We need more oboe features, Ms. Allen!!! 😅💕
lol this is soo funny considering I play the oboe and I totally used to sound like this the first week of learning/practice😭
As an oboe player that sits next to many oboe players I can confirm this is so accurate (sometimes we still do this)
I’m so glad my band director let me practice the oboe over the summer first and then I started beginning band
YES!!! I get called a dying duck all the time!!! (Love ur content ❤)
❤❤❤ love the chicken squeak so very fitting. 😂😂😂
As an intermediate oboe, this is what my entire elementary school band heard
🖐️ I do, and I can confirm. 😂
It happened to me today since I could not hold my breath🥲🥲🥲
18:44 things that would be stressful for regulars can be calming for gamers and even when it’s stressful, it’s somehow calming
Why does the violin sound fit the clarinet so well. It has the same vibe
Been an oboe player for 34 years! The struggle at the beginning is real!
Mrs aĺen please add more bassoon content i enjoy it
Omg when I first started I sounded like a duck that’s so real
I'm a former band director and I love all of your content!! Thanks for making me smile!
Can you please post a video of the bassoon?
I remember when I sounded like this. I still do the split octave train horn to get my section's attention 😂
ahh the good old days of being a beginner oboist, i sucked at it lol, but hard work goes a long way!!
OMG STOP NOW 😭
I HAD TO TRANSFER TO ALTO SAX CUZ THERE WERE TOO MANY OBOES BUT THIS IS TO TRUE 😭😭😭😭😭
I play oboe and when I first started I literally sounded like a dying duck but now that I'm in high school I sound great 😭
There's nothing more challenging than trying to not not laugh at the sound of a beginner oboeist. I swear im not laughing them i swear to god
Not going to lie ur channel make my wanna go into band even tho im joining strings
I can confirm this because I am an obeo
Those are pretty cool long trumpets
As a an Oboe player, I can confirm, even though I sound like a dying chicken sometimes, I sound more like a steam locomotive running over a cow.
this is also goes for bassoon, French horn and any of the other hard instruments. so true
Biggest flex is it took me 1 month to start sounding better on oboe and after a year I sound really good
(Sorry I need to brag under the place where my existence is being acknowledged.)
brag all you want! you play oboe!!
I play the trumpet omg 😱 🎺
what crowing a fresh reed sounds like lol
I am a beginner oboe and this is exactly how I sound lol! I need some lessons 😂
Finally an oboe! I can confirm, I sound like a dying duck!!!😂
Helppp I played oboe for a few years before quitting (not into music enough to play two instruments, having to play clarinet during marching season) and the beginner squeaks were AWFUL
Oboist here. I agree, oboes are real hard to blow as a beginner
I keep watching this and it keeps making me laugh so hard!
We only have one one in our band. She's actually really good for a 7th grader
Haha this is literally me 😂
I am a beginner oboe and i can infact say this is true and it sometimes hits the high notes
As a beginner oboe player I can confirm that was what I sounded like the first few weeks
That sound that said aaaahhhhdkdjd got me on the floor laughing
Oboist here, yeah first year is rough. It gets better though, I’m now a third year oboist and in my school’s orchestra playing oboe 1
*the band playing perfectly*
The clarinet squeaking 💀
Im proud that the first time i picked up an oboe i got the sound right the first time
New fav channel????😮
I play clarinet, and i always get squeaks😅
I’m a music Ed major, primary instrument is trumpet but been taking oboe lessons so I can help my double reed students. Harder to find someone for them that knows half of what they are talking about vs any other instrument. Making reeds now and that’s a fun challenge.
We had sectionals and decided to go by the oboes and they tuned for 45 mineutes 😃
As a person who plays oboe, I completely agree that I sounded like that
i’m an 2nd year oboist and i love it
That’s what my friend sounds like in our band
As a oboe its honestly really hard lol! Right now we are learning the whole jingle bells song and its painful to the fingers. Its pretty hard to memorize mouth movements and how hard to blow! YAYYY!!! Oboe mentioned!!!!! (Also, as an oboist this is painfully relatable, but I’ve successfully grown out of that phase)
I love this 😂 it’s been a WHILE since I was there but it was a good battle to get here lol
✋ i play oboe in jazz, concert, and honors band :]. I would say that I don’t sound like a dying duck anymore because of a lot of practice haha
a flute here, i sit by an oboe and randomly i just hear
🦆🦆🦆🦆
I felt so honored to be first chair oboe of 3 of us in highschool and I was the youngest ❤️
I remember in our beginner class it sounded like ducks, luckily it was only for like a week before they sounded more like oboes
😂😂, sometimes I still feel this way about my oboe playing
Need more videos about oboe
I used to perform with my small class and I was the oboe player. When we took breaks, I would honk at the cars ;-;
Can confirm as beginner oboeist. (Five months)
I’ve been playing oboe for 6 years and sometimes I still sound like a dying duck
One kid in band recently started the oboe this week and it sounded ok but very airy. :)
I’m an oboist and I sounded like that when I first started playing lol 😂 ❤
I play the oboe and confirm that this is what we sound like in the beginning
If I had to be honest I’m in 6th grade and I play in the 6th and 5th grade band and I play the Oboe when I first started that was correct I sounded like that but now it’s been 2 years and I’m really good , recently another oboe joined and I need to help her because when she does that the band director does not like it .
And beginner flute to. When I started I sounded so squeaky and horrible 😭
Oh my gosh, my daughter just took up the oboe this year. Pretty accurate, not going to lie 😂 it's okay, we love the learning that's going on. It's all good.
What is this song ? I’m dying to know 😂❤❤❤
While on a tour, I ended up the sole clarinet in a broken down elevator with 17 oboes. We were stuck for 3 hours😅
