detective conan is my childhood anime and yes i have watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. and trust me, the tv originals were way better back then. but the canon episodes are so good.
Literally the show that got me into anime. I remember staying up sooo late to watch this on Cartoon Network. Back when they were still referred to jimmy and Rachel. Crazy there’s over 1000 episodes now. Time to jump into the nostalgia.
it's definitely worth it. i've rewatched it 10 times INCLUDING FILLER, and yes, i have to say it was a very good investment of my time. i plan on rewatching it over and over again because this anime is my favorite by far, other than dragon ball. the mysteries are fun and challenging to solve, and the animation has gotten so much better over the years, and the plot is really good, even though it can be slow sometimes, which isn't a bad thing. long story short, you should watch it because everything about it is just great.
Thank you legendary phantom thief Kaito Kid!!! Does inspector Nakamori know about your TH-cam account!? But I agree! If you like the fillers then you should watch them! I just don’t enjoy them that much if I’m being honest! But if you enjoy them more power to you and everyone else!!!! Time you enjoyed is never time wasted!

There’s no wrong way to watch a show! The way that makes you the happiest is honestly the best way to watch a show! (But that is the superior way to watch 😉)
Americans: I love this show I want it to end. I need it to end. It hasn't ended yet?! I'm starting to dislike it it better end. Japanese: I love this show. I can't get enough of it. I wish it didn't have to end let's support it as long as possible.
America has had long runners as well. Simpsons, Friends, Full House, Family Guy, etc. It was the thing to do in the past. Tv would air continuously until cancellation. New gens are demanding shorter now though which is what you’re seeing. Personally, I’m in the long runner camp. Though, I enjoy both longer and shorter series. My preference is around 50-75 episodes. That’s 2-3 double cour seasons. I don’t mind long. With some shows like Conan, I want it to never end. I’m not ready to let the series go yet. If Conan does somehow end, I hope it will make a return like Yashahime, Boruto, Bleach, or One Piece has.
I love Detective Conan. I've seen the entire series (so far) twice. I started watching when I was about 8 and it has been a really formative experience for me in good and bad ways. It really influenced the way I write and conceptualize stories, a lot of my characters or plots are inspired by it, and although I always have had a love for detective fiction, this show really really solidified it. I started crying when I was rewatching it for the first time in like, 15 years, and I remembered a lot of stuff, but it wasn't until I got to Mysterious Eyes theme song that the nostalgia REALLY hit. It's like all the memories flooded back, lol. It also gave me lifelong phobias of public bathrooms, elevators, windows at night, and classical music, but that's fine. Fair tradeoff. I think one of the funniest things about this show is how many things Shinichi can suddenly do that he explains as like, my dad taught me in Hawaii. Such as firing a gun or piloting a fucking helicopter. King. Light of my life. I have a figure of him on my desk that is my prized possession.
Whenever I hear the song that plays during romantic moments between Ran and Shinichi I still get butterflies in my stomach!!! I think one of my favourite moments of all time is when someone points a gun at Shinichi and he lets loose a bunch of bullets and the criminal is like “HUH???? MY BULLETS???” And checks their gun for bullets only to realize their magazine is completely full and then Shinichi decks them! We stan Kudo Shinichi :) I hope my video helped express how you feel about Detective Conan or maybe it didn’t? Either way I hope you enjoyed lol :)

You made me change the way I see Sonoko. Though she doesn't do much for the plot, she really is a valuable character for Ran and Shinichi/Conan. Also I have a theory that Fusai is the daughter of Karasuma Renya. Seeing that the description of Haibara/Sherry and Vermouth suits her. Otherwise, she would still be crucial to the plot or to the organization, or I'm just way over my head. Lol.
@@DarnelHasLeft if there is anything that Detective Conan has taught me is to truly enjoy the journey to the path I'm walking. We're always gonna have bad/boring days like some filler episodes, but there will be good moments in our lives as well, just like the Black Organization episodes or hard ass cases like the Mermaid Case. Watching all these 1000+ episodes teaches me to truly stick with something until the end, even if we have some boring/bad moments in our lives with whatever we have going on career-wise, relationship wise, friend wise, etc.,. It can't all just be 10/10 every episode. Not even Breaking Bad is that good. So yeah, discipline and sticking through things. That is what I have learned from watching Detective Conan. It takes discipline to be an electrician for 20 years and then saying alright time to study Quantum Computers and Nuclear Reactors and devote my next 30 years of my life to that day in and day out. It also takes discipline to work out for 40 years, with no break. Too many people think of life as temporary. Temporary friends, coworkers, family even, jobs, careers, etc. They just jump to the latest and flashiest Trend/TV show/video game, career etc. But, sticking with it, that is what will set you apart and will make sure that when it's your time to die you're surrounded by the ones you love. The wiki article site is one of the best of archiving and tells you if a specific character appears or an event is happening (link to the wiki page is here of the episode list www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Anime).
@@hikaru9709 the ovas, specials, dramas and movies are non-cannon. However if you want actual good filler episodes/specials here is my list: OVA 9 the stranger from ten years (good episode if you know the characters really well and it gets so sad at the end.) Episode ONE remake special (it follows the beginning manga but I didn't like how they censor the death of an important character in the episode.) episode 168 (the ending really hits you hard). Though there is a lot of filler episodes those are the ones I come back to. As my dead brain will tell you is don't not watch the funimation English dub. Just avoid it at all cost if you wanna follow the manga. They changed the characters names to make it americanized like Ran = Rachel, Kogoro = Richard, Heiji = Harley and other name changes. Also what really makes me mad about it is they changed the script writing so it sounds better and flows as a story. However you'll be confused on what characters say later on in the episodes like episode 49-50 (this is the english dub version the original JP is 48-49.) The quote important of Shinichi telling Heiji off of there is always one truth. What Heiji says before Shinichi says that is "you beat me and I accept it." to "chinese liquor is strong but not half as Gin and Vodka. They're killers." Mori is literally titled the sleeping detective by how many times he gets put to sleep and everyone thinking he solved it already when he gets to sleep sitting.
Kaitou Kid is actually more like the original Arsene Lupin then Lupin III is, even the whole thing about being secretly another character the whole time. I enjoy the show, including both official sanctioned Dubs it's had, I hope the new BangZoom eventually gets to do more then just the most recent movies.
The black organization arcs are insane, it's so unpredictable. Their ability to show Gin so many times yet still keep him very secretive is crazy. And why the hell is a spy that works for the Fbi also work in a coffee shop under the apartment of Conan and also has his own side show. There's is something that this video didn't really mention, the Types of canons and movies are spit into different categories: 1:Black organization related, 2: Main characters developments, 3: Kaito Kid (This thief literally has shows of his own. They implemented a character from another show into Detective Conan and it's crazy how there's movies and episodes where Conan tries capturing him while solving murder cases, but you know it's never going to happen because he's just too good. Kaito literally dates the daughter of the inspector in charge of capturing him, who is also the same inspector in charge of capturing him in Kaito's own shows, that was brought into detective Conan along with his daughter where he becomes kind of a semi main character in some episodes and movies. What's unbelievable are the canon episodes that somehow managed to implement Black organization with Kaito kid in the mix, it's messed up, Black organization episodes are scary episodes with a lot of killing, and Kaito kid episodes are episodes with over all good vibes, then when you mix those two it get's really unpredictable, Kaito is trying to steal something, and the organization is trying to kill someone). Most black organization episodes aren't directly related with actually fighting them. Many times it's solving a murder case with a side character being present around Conan who fits the description of the boss of the black organization who goes by the name of Rum, which until now in the anime, we have no idea who it is, because every single episode with one of the side characters present in it who fit the description give us the full impression that this character must be Rum, when in the end it might be neither of them. Please note that throughout this whole series Ran thinks that Shinichi disappeared because he's working on complicated cases around the world, and it's always Conan using a voice changer to talk to her on the phone. Occasionally, he takes a drug that grows him back into his actual size temporarily and hangs out with Ran, or has Kaito kid disguise as Shinichi for him just to keep the secret from her. All in all, the whole anime is messed up since it manages to keep the show appropriate for a younger audience despite the presence of mass killing, blood and just over all graphics, you wont understand until you watch a few episodes. This show has one of the best and longest plots seen in anime. Were constantly wondering how Conan and the Fbi will put an end to the Black organization, and when Conan will finally reveal his true identity to Ran and find a way to permanently grow back to his original size; After a whole thousand+ episodes, these questions still remain a mystery.
When I get confused in the video about his connection with the police it’s mostly about the actual like legal definition of what his job title would be! Like on the police reports they can’t just write “got help from high school detective” or something lmao. I just assumed he would be titled as like a consultant like how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was back in his day when he helped the police solve mysteries! My bad for the weird wording!
@@DarnelHasLeftI think that’s what it is as well. Shinichi’s father is who is/was the consultant and Shinichi was just allowed to tag along so much throughout his life that I think the police are just used to him somehow finding his way in. He’s genuinely a boy genius and is helpful so, they let him play the same role in cases his dad did in the past.
i feel soo bad knowing that they will prob never finish the main story of this show, i was hooked knowing about the organisation and all and thought if i just continue it will conclude it, but that was almost 10 years ago, i couldn't watch it anymore. i have been going back to it every now and then though and do have to say the films a bad ass!!
I've watched every single episode CONAN even the filler because I don't know when will they drop any Plot related event. I'm invested with the plot. My least favorite episode is about The Detective Kids.
My cousin had tons of manga and comics in her apartment when she was younger, and whenever I'd come to visit she'd let me look through her collections. Of course, among these collections were volumes of Detective Conan, it was among the first manga I'd been exposed to, I was a huge manga/comic snob back then and I am very grateful to have know about Conan so early in my life. My recollection could have been confused but I think the very first chapter I read was right after Sera is introduced, the "Detective of the West vs Detective of the East" chapter.
The title of the video is that you watched the show so we didn't have to yet you're making us all watch it. I might have to forget I ever saw or heard of this. 😭
I absolutely recommend reading the manga if any of you want to start this series, the early anime episodes messed some plot points up because they didn't expect the show to run beyond season 1. They even had to re-do some episodes because they didn't include some stuff the first time around. One example is the Akemi Miyano case, they changed her to a different character at first and then had to do the episode again when she became an important character. And it's also a lot less work to read 1000+ (each about 16 pages on average) chapters than 1000+ 20 minutes episodes (or like 500+ 20 minute episodes if you leave out all anime filler)
i’ve rewatched detective conan 21 times now including filler, and it’s still fun to watch/rewatch. the plot is impeccable, the action is amazing, and you can relate to all the characters in a way that isn’t generic. the show also teaches you valuable life skills, and practical knowledge to use in the real world too. i learned how to be more attentive, observe little details, and figure out crimes based on the evidence at hand. all in all, you should watch this show and study it, in a sense, to grow more mature and have fun with it because it teaches you so much more if you are paying attention to the key details.
The anime gets shittier after one of the major developments in the plot, in episode 505. The manga is good until chapter 1000, because the author started going on extended breaks and stalling the plot with useless cases. I love this series but I only read new chapters IF they contain developments in the main plot vs the Black Organization.
5:54 shinichi also mentions it to ran, he says if she is rich why doesn't she(ran) ask sonoko to pay for it, ran said she would want sonoko to remain her friend for life.
I connected my CRT TV to my computer so that way I can watch old anime the way it was intended, and I’ve been watching Detective Conan every day for the past 2 months. This show hardly ever has progression, and when it feels like it’s going somewhere, they are like “Nah”
The anime that talks about impossibility and improbability but defies all that well because he is the Hero. Kogoro after getting so many shots of tranquilizer in most of the episode is still surviving. Kogoro still not immune while Heiji manages to be awaken in a shot period of time on his first time being shot with tranquilizer and Kogoro with so many episode he still not immune. Conan/Shinichi is having all the luck at solving the cases even some are spoon fed to him through some random conversation in his surrounding giving him hints. He can solve anything and bring everyone to justice but can't even get his own problem solve or bring the black organization victims the justice they needed all because of pride.

I’d say it took me around 3 months as well! However that’s not counting all the extra material (magic files, movies, special episode ONE, etc.) I found out those existed a few months after I had finished the binge (except the movies of course) so you’re could say it took me maybe 4 or 5 months of total watch time!

It's worth it. There are many episodes that are classified as filler episodes but they are beautiful.
The details are exactly what I'm here for. Everything is correct, even the part about God Usopp. This is good.
We stan Kudo Shinichi :)

I watch filler episodes as well because I believe that a lot of good episodes and original cases. Here is the wiki article link if you need more help on what to watch the anime but avoid the filler.

😈
How have you rewatched it 11 times since your last comment here 2 years ago???

The anime gets shittier after one of the major developments in the plot, in episode 505. The manga is good until chapter 1000, because the author started going on extended breaks and stalling the plot with useless cases. I love this series but I only read new chapters IF they contain developments in the main plot vs the Black Organization.

But the site only has around 247 episodes then just jumps to 847 and that's it.I just wonder who wrote all these plots they seem unique to me but I'm not all that smart.
I also watched the whole show till 800 episodes, rewatching it now by using the canon-filler guide.
Detective conan is amazing anime long time i watched all episodes until 1000 and now i am starting to watch again i will watch all episodes .movies.ovas i lova that anime and characters

I only read the manga but I'll probably go watch the anime soon too
I didn't watch all filler eps but i watch most of it. I watch all the non filler and also read all the manga so yes it is worth it! The main story is very very interesting!! For people who just want to start watching I recommend just to start with the main story/arc coz it might be too overwhelming to watch everything at once!
Thanks for doing the Lord's work!!! BTW Vermouth is not 2nd in command in BO. Rum is 2nd in command
They have milked the cow to death. This show had some gem mysteries, but no author can keep continuing this forever. And it shows... 80% filler for the last 5 years and even the rare canon episodes are nowhere near the quality of the old ones.
Tubi only has 50 episodes
Since I started reading Detective Conan when I was 12, and I’m not very knowledgeable about alcohol, I always assumed Vermouth was pronounced like Vermont without the N.
I’ll be honest and say I went on TH-cam to look at how to pronounce that 😅
The OG English dub only being just over 100 episodes was a crime against humanity
I'm 900 episodes in. It peaks at episode 11 as their choice of 1000th episode remake shows, but i still like what i saw
Where to watch it
I actually finished detective Conan in December 2022 and it’s great to experience
where can watch all the episodes?
@@itzz_jayy_duh gogoanime or crunchyroll
Tbh I only really like the earlier episodes. The rest of the episodes become too superficial, simple, repetitive, and boring.
The fact I remember every cast name makes me wonder what in doing with my life
I watched every single episode and IT IS WORTH IT (4869)
I grow up watching it, it was my childhood, I'm so happy that its still on going.
Not every episode is worth watching. Fillers nowadays have become trash, older fillers were better than canon episodes though
@Justin No, I watched all the fillers upto episode 527 and all of them are good and worth watching. Some of them are just too good to exist.
I watched some fillers that are being made nowadays and unlike my previous comment, I won't say they are that bad but they make you bore.
Conan is one of those animes which won't make you bored unless there is a really boring episode.
I have watched 900 ep once and now I have started again and currently at 60
Where to watch it
The fact that in this long review you didnt mention haibara/shiho miyano is baffling. She’s one of the most integral characters in this show and is nearly as important as the main character
Every SINGLE episode is worth it. This video should not have existed in the first place. DC is the best anime ever❤
Top tier quality
Bruh you tripping cases closed/Detective Conan is so good & worth it 👏👏
Mouri Kogoro does seem to be look like a jerk mostly, when it is personal he does go pro mode.
Might be late but this is the only thing I look forward to every week
It may take weeks maybe months to binge watch the entire series. So yeah. I recommend checking out what's canon.
i watched 1070 episodes of detective conan. But I skipped many episodes that were boring.I only watched the episodes with KAITO KID,SERA,AKAI SHUICHI,BLACK ORGANIZATION,SHINICHI KUDO IDENTITY being SUSPECTED,CONAN RETURNING TO KUDO SHINICHI AND ACTION INVOLVED IN IT
video: Don't watch every single episode!
Me that already watched it 5 times until the end
Its funny how Conan lowkey has a similar premise to GT goku since he can only turn into an adult as a SS4. And I also like the episodes Conan and Kaito Kid in each other’s shows.
That’s wild how accurate that comparison was lmao
So, how much time did it take for you to watch all episodes, I binged day and night and finished all of conan (Main EPs, movies,OVAs,ONAs,Magic Files, T.V. Specials) in 3 months
I’d say it took me around 3 months as well! However that’s not counting all the extra material (magic files, movies, special episode ONE, etc.) I found out those existed a few months after I had finished the binge (except the movies of course) so you’re could say it took me maybe 4 or 5 months of total watch time!
@@DarnelHasLeft LOL I watched it last year and it took me about 3 and half months to watch everything as well WTF ???!
I only accidentally skipped one movie then I realized that and watched it a couple months later .
Anyways. Really good review you got a new subscriber 😊
One piece fans say - "It is not the best anime but surely the best manga"
I say - "Detective Conan may not be the best anime but it is the best *mystery* manga"
And the one piece pfp. You've seen like 2000+ episodes of anime
I've been watching it since I was 9, so for 26 years now. Started watching on RTL II DC and other anime from the 90s are the reason I speak German today. Plus, the anime is awesome, even with the fillers, and 100% worth it.
Good content. Subscribed.
Imagine Conan is just on a Big Simulation run by many detectives.
Then the movie 6 become canon.
