I love this period, I remember buying (on inport) the Judas ep, and W.OJ in 1985 and been blown away. Helloween have always been popular in the UK, but especially 1986 - 1992. Great years 👍😊☮️
The man has the voice of an angel. My favorite metal vocalist, hands down, and that's saying a lot when you consider the competition from legends like Dio, Ozzy, Dickinson, Ray Gillen,etc

The band had to fire Ingo because his schizophrenia made it impossible for him to carry out his duties as the drummer. This obviously was extremely hard for him and made his illness get worse. After a while his father passed away (he had also lost his mother years before) and that seems to have been the final blow to him, he never really got back on his feet again, and he eventually committed a suicide during a schizophrenic episode. So to say he committed a suicide as a direct result of being fired from the band is misleading.
Kids nowadays must see this... that's why Helloween has so many fans today... keeper part one and two will be forever marked as two of the best metal albuns ever.

Helloween had everything in the 80s: A kick ass innovative drummer, a creatively melodic bass player, twin guitars with perfect chemistry and a good looking 5 octave lead singer 👌 Present Helloween is also good, and the stuff that they did in the 90ss with Deris is some of the greatest in the power metal-history. I'd love if Kai and Kiske rejoined the band, and they went touring ones more. Kai & Weikath were great together in the old days, Kai with his fast and epic power-style, combined with Weikath's dark and emotional sound. Those two could write some killer songs again, and with Kiske on the vocals, it would be the most amazing thing to happen in metal for a long time. I like Deris, but he is starting to lack a lot on his live-performances. I think it is time for Deris to say goodbye with dignity, and then all Helloween-fans will thank him for his amazing work with Weikath, which basically saved Helloween in the 90s.

The 2 first álbuns are real masterpieces. But also Keeper I. When i got that álbum and Keeper 2 (i dont know the year, but "live in UK" was the last álbum in that time) i was so impressed at the time. I am a thrash metal guitarrist and composer and still today i have this big influence from the 3 first Helloween albuns. I suffered in the pink bubbles/chamellion era, i thought Helloween would'nt be metal anymore. i passad 'rings" cause i gave up of the once my favourite band, and for me they returned in "Time of the Oath". Awesome show and from a very interesting time in the Helloween lifetime. According to the "30th anniversary Hellbook" the date for this show in Tuttlingen is march 18th 1987. The first keeper album was released in may of 1987. Even more interesting is that Kiske introduces a song "from the part 2-album" that wasn´t to be released until later in 1988. Seems like both material and concept of the keeper albums were quite clear from the start. The solo in "you Always walk alone" is in a different place here than on the part 2-album.
I am not saying you are wrong but isn't it strange they would play whole Keeper I 2 months before album release and Always from Keeper II one year in advance?
As a true Thrash Metal fan back in the day I only found 3 Power Metal bands I liked. Iron Maiden (of course) Savatage, and these lovable Germans, Helloween. Keeper 1&2 are some of metals finest albums

So true! I´v had the same opinion also!! I think Kiske was the only one available at that time, who would´v been able to replace Bruce. But the fact is, that Steve actually considered Kiske, and Kiske even sent him some tapes, but Steve wanted a British singer, and for reasons know one understood, he chose Blaze :/
Agreed, Blaze never EVER fit into Maiden´s style, and yes the songs from that era was great, but the singer was baaad! Well, I like Unisonic´s first album, but in my opinion, their new album is too much hard rock. But yes they might have been better if they´d created it back then. But my greatest wish is just that Helloween reunite with Weikath and Helloween. Kai and Weikath together again would be awesome! They wrote some amazing songs together in the old days. When you take kai´s rough power metal-style, combine it with Weikath´s dark, emotional atmospheric style, and then mix it with Kiske´s 4 octave prodigy-voice, you get something beautiful. They could drop both Gamma Ray and Unisonic for my part, if they went to reunite Helloween ;)
Don´t get me wrong, i like new Helloween a lot! the 90´s era was SO awesome, with the whole Weikath/Deris-partnership -they wrote some amazing songs during this period. I also like the 00´s, The Dark Ride and Keeper - Legacy are some of the best albums they´v made. And 7 Sinners & Straight Out Of Hell were great too :) Agreed, Edguy is hard rock, but it is good hard rock. But I still think that it is a little sad that they have abandoned power metal, just like that. I mean, when you hear the old albums, I get a little sad that they aren´t like that anymore. Especially because their power metal-stuff was what made them what they are today. But their latest album was definitely a change to the better, after Tinnitus Sanctus and Age Of The Joker, even though I still miss their earlier style. Yes I agree on that, there are many options for Kiske/Hansen, and it has been great so far :) Yes we would definitely lose some great bands, but then, if we think about how truly legendary a band that would be created by a reunion, i mean....the old Helloween! And the songs that would come out of it!!!! :D To be honest, I would´n be that sad to see Unisonic go, it was good at the beginning, but it seems like Kai has stepped away, and given a little too much space to Dennis Ward, so Unisonic kind of lose their epic riffs and choruses. And then it becomes a little too ordinary, in my opinion. I´d miss Gamma Ray, they always deliver solid power metal, and Kai has done an excellent job there. But again, If we got old Helloween back, it would definitely compensate for the loss of Gamma Ray. When it comes to the loss of new Helloween, I would say that it has had it´s prime, the music is still good, but Deris has started to lack a lot on his live-performances. He always go´s drinking with Sascha on tour, and since that is old news, I would prefer if Deris said goodbye with dignity, instead of dragging it out. But yeah Master of The Ring-The dark Ride era was amazing, Gamma Ray´s Powerplant is great too (my favorite though, will always be No World Order) :)

ah the 80s and living 4 miles from Hammy O and stopping at least once a week to see who was on their way ,along with Donnington in the summer with a look at reading if anyone was worth seeing ,but would not change a thing and thinking back on some of the bands that I/WE saw is like a whos who ,and would be hard to replicate that period of some of the best bands in metal at their absolute peaks in most cases such as these guys with keeper tour,judas priest pre u.s era ,maiden Beast piece of mind, powerslave through to their Donnington/Wembley on their 7th son tour ,slayer reign in blood with the album only available on import at 30 odd quid from shades in soho and although a top sounding album still felt ripped with only 28 minutes of music on there {and subsequentially the only time I have enjoyed slayer and with Lombado in top form making it one of the best live performances i have seen/heard to this day 30 odd yrs later} ,metallicas m.o.pseen as a 5 piece band with hetfields wrist broken anthrax as support and a week before Cliff Burton was taken away, Dio with his Egypt stuff,W.A.S.P, scorpions and a reformed deep purple at Knebworth and even the gunners were awesome back then and throw in pink floyd playing 2 nights at wembley stadium and then at maine road manchester which we got into with dodgy tickets bought of some shonky bugger after we drove up from london on the monday with no tickets and it wasn't spotted till on ways home that they had the wrong date and all same serial numbers on them but they worked ok] those were awesome days to grow up not like those unlucky kids today with a soul reliance on the interweb

Tudo é melhor no início, quando o desejo é apenas pelo reconhecimento da sua música e viver a utopia de ser um rockstar... Tsc... Agora esse papo de Deris x Kiske é chato demais... Os dois são bons e cada um representa um momento importante para a banda e agora que estão juntos então ficou melhor ainda. Vida longa ao Helloween!

This nineteen year old guy at the microphone, so it was actually so awesome! - Also live! Even then I suspected that I listen to one of the best metal singers. Today I know that I was so right Too bad that the combination Hansen, Kiske, Weikath did not work any longer! The line up of Helloween in 1986 - '88 was not to beat! This band could have reached so much more ...
I bought Seven Keys part 2 the day it came out and really expected Helloween to become one of the greatest metal bands ever. Then, Kai Hansen left and I think they had business trouble which slowed their progress. Pink Bubbles onwards and things went dramatically downhill. Kiske left, the drummer died and the rest is tragically unfulfilled musical history.

I LOVE this period of helloween and line up. I got into them in 1988, when Kai, then Michael left them, I stopped listening. For me (personally) THIS (1985-1992) will always be the classic Helloween

ah the 80s and living 4 miles from Hammy O and stopping at least once a week to see who was on their way ,along with Donnington in the summer with a look at reading if anyone was worth seeing ,but would not change a thing and thinking back on some of the bands that I/WE saw is like a whos who ,and would be hard to replicate that period of some of the best bands in metal at their absolute peaks in most cases such as these guys with keeper tour,judas priest pre u.s era ,maiden Beast piece of mind, powerslave through to their Donnington/Wembley on their 7th son tour ,slayer reign in blood with the album only available on import at 30 odd quid from shades in soho and although a top sounding album still felt ripped with only 28 minutes of music on there {and subsequentially the only time I have enjoyed slayer and with Lombado in top form making it one of the best live performances i have seen/heard to this day 30 odd yrs later} ,metallicas m.o.pseen as a 5 piece band with hetfields wrist broken anthrax as support and a week before Cliff Burton was taken away, Dio with his Egypt stuff,W.A.S.P, scorpions and a reformed deep purple at Knebworth and even the gunners were awesome back then and throw in pink floyd playing 2 nights at wembley stadium and then at maine road manchester which we got into with dodgy tickets bought of some shonky bugger after we drove up from london on the monday with no tickets and it wasn't spotted till on ways home that they had the wrong date and all same serial numbers on them but they worked ok] those were awesome days to grow up not like those unlucky kids today with a soul reliance on the interweb

@@Assimandeli I wish they would re-record walls of jericho with Kiske. It would make the best Helloween album IMO perhaps even better than Keeper of the seven key 1-2. Walls of jericho had all the potential in it. Unfortunately the production/editing that time was not so great...it is such a pity.

Verdade, , tirando os agudos de Kiske ele tem a voz muito semelhante ao Bruce, os melhores do estilo.
Ringo era viciado e por isso foi posto pra fora da banda... Um pouco depois se jogou na frente de um trem, uma pena pois era um grande baterista; Kiske estava no auge, assim como todos, jovens e cheios de gás.
Tudo é melhor no início, quando o desejo é apenas pelo reconhecimento da sua música e viver a utopia de ser um rockstar... Tsc...
Agora esse papo de Deris x Kiske é chato demais... Os dois são bons e cada um representa um momento importante para a banda e agora que estão juntos então ficou melhor ainda.

This band could have reached so much more ...
I bought Seven Keys part 2 the day it came out and really expected Helloween to become one of the greatest metal bands ever. Then, Kai Hansen left and I think they had business trouble which slowed their progress. Pink Bubbles onwards and things went dramatically downhill. Kiske left, the drummer died and the rest is tragically unfulfilled musical history.

I allways made a comparisson between "Twilight of the Goods" and King Diamond's "A Mansion in Darkness" from Abigail. 2 masterpieces. I allways wanted to do thrash metal like Exodus, Metallica, Destruction and Kreator with solos like Metallica, Destruction (Harry era), Malmsteen, Slayer and HELLOWEEN! And i think i did!

No es que Deris cante tan mal . Solo que si se compara con Kiske obviamente es mucho mejor cantante kiske
seba torres concuerdo contigo, Deris tiene mejor presencia en el escenario y un mejor contacto con el público, además su of es excelente, y eso se puede escuchar en sus albumes, claro que kiske y deris tienen voces totalmente diferentes, por eso casi todos se quejan cuando Deris interpreta las canciones donde estaba Kiske
Yo creo que el tema es que son dos voces muy diferentes. Deris no vale para cantar los temas de Kiske y no debería ni intentarlo. Cantando los suyos lo hace bien
Deris es un gran cantante para una banda de Hard rock tipo AC/DC, no para Helloween, nunca debieron poner una cantante de su estilo en la banda, el indicado era Ralph Scheffers, pero ya lo habia pillado Kai Hanse para sus Gamma Ray
