Thanks for sharing man! I was about to buy just a regular zx-6r mirror to replace my stock one but now I'll just go with this. One question tho, around 1:05, the base of the mirror looked a little too big. Is it noticeable? or the rubber boot hides it away?
Yes the base of the mirror does not exactly fit in place nicely like the old mirrors. The original mirrors are actually a recessed mount. The new mirrors will actually rest against the front cowling, instead of the mirror mount. I didn't bother to put a piece of rubber underneath. I suspect it might leave a few marks on the cowling. But the supplied rubber boots cover it up pretty nicely. Not perfect, but well enough.
If I remember correctly I had a spare set of leads for my signals I think. So I most likely did not tap above the OEM connector. I like to leave that untouched.
I have those mirrors on my fz6r and I hate them. Cant see behind me and they are constantly blowing back at speed. I tightened them as much as possible it still didnt help.
Yup. I agree not very functional. Even the bolt that you use to tighten them is on the wrong side near the widescreen, at least in my experience. I have gone back to stock mirrors now.
@@RideThe6 theres alot of info on the Internet about that swap. I dont know off hand the right years. I want to switch mine. They look like they have a wider stance to be able to see behind the bike.
It will take you a few hours for sure. Plastics need to be removed and you need to wire into your existing signal harness and drill holes into your mirror mounts.
I love the sequential rear turn signal. Looks sharp.
Thanks. It has the quick flash too while braking.

Ya soon. Installing windscreen tuesday night
Did you tap into above the oem Yamaha connector or below it

The mirrors look they were placed on the wrong side as in they are upside down?
I know what your saying but the angles if you put them the other way were worse. Can't see from them anyways. Look good but not functional.

Where did u get that passenger seat
LOL. The unicorn piece. It is the genuine Yamaha rear seat cowl. Used to be blue but I had it carbon dipped :)
Where did ya get your seat cowl
Bought it a few years back before they all sold out. Was blue originally and I carbon dipped it.
Oh ok. Ya because ive been trying to find one for a while and the odd time ill see used ones and people want like 200 bucks for it.
@@mattm.6555 To be honest that's what they cost. I paid more than that from Yamaha probably.
@@RideThe6 really wow i didnt know that well ill keep looking.
is this fit for FZ Version 2.0?
FZ6R 2009-2017. Not sure about other models. But these mirrors are not good. You can't see anything in them.
@@RideThe6 Thank you.
like cbr1000rr 2006
How long took you to replace the mirrors?
