Since the Tornado IDS loaded with anti-ship missiles has been implemented, I tried anti-ship attacks with famous new aircraft including the 4th generation. Since the blast damage did not reach the depths of the ship more than before, it became difficult to sink the battleship even with a guided bomb. For that reason, I couldn't take an ideal image, and it took a lot of time to shoot this time.

Looks like the best way to destroy WW2 era cruisers and battleships with modern jets is to use bombs of any types(Bunker buster bomb is the best viable option). Rockets and missiles only able to achieve mobility and mission kill since those ships were heavily armoured.
Also, if the WW2 era cruisers and battleships were backfitted with modern AA missiles and radar guided AA guns, any 4th gen fighters will be shot down long before those planes can drop their laser guided bombs. (This also raise a question about how to implement modern AA defense game mechanics for Naval tech tree or else it would be too overpowered).
That's the case as what the Luftwaffe had demonstrated when they sank the Italian battleship Roma with the guided bomb: Fritz-X.
It's also noteworthy how the Paveway IIs here were used here (denonating under the hull) as the US military today is developing a guided bomb that can be used against naval ships based from Paveway/JDAMs called Quicksink just in case the conflict between China and Taiwan gets hot.

Yeah, there was a follow-up with the FB-111 recently. Basically needed 5 tonnes of TNT to guarantee a kill, double what the F-14 and A-10 dropped in this video against the Haruna.

WarThunder's variable wing swaying has been excessive for some time. It's not a simulation, so don't take it seriously, just enjoy it as entertainment.

Didn't know a panavia tornado flaps it's wings during flight. Seems a bit hard on the structural stability...
WarThunder's swivel wing movement is a bit exaggerated...the real plane is much more robust.

Assuming the ship has some form of radar and it can detect the Aircraft more than 20kms away, wouldn't the Captain start erratic swerving motions, particularly if they know the aircraft is propeller driven or a high altitude dive bomber
Typically, in ww2 they would keep on course. But you would definitely be greeted with a wall of AA. Unless your in dire straights they would be in a fleet with fleet and attack carriers so you'd also be greeted with 200 fighters, unless that battleship was the sole survivor of a battle it wouldn't be alone, but if it was alone I'd say they'd be throwing wheel to both sides and going crazy with the throttle.
The ships absolutely tried to make it hard for dive bomber pilots to aim.

Of course in the cases shown in the video, the gravity bombs were laser guided and teh ship would not be able to significantly reduce his chances of a hit through maneiuvering.

Modern anti-ship missiles are not designed to pierce through 100mm+ solid armor becuase most if not all modern ships are paper thin compared to battleships and battlecruisers

I would like to see the Tu-22M attack this battleship with an air-launched version P-700 Granit.
The funny thing is that the defense and control capabilities of this battleship are comparable to Phalanx Close-In Weapon System. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 In fact, the air defense of Japanese warships was extremely poor. They can't even cope with F6F and F4U、TBM-3.
Granit is too heavy to be carried by Tu-22M, it's launched only from submarines and large surface ships.
Tu-22M can carry up to three Kh-22 cruise missiles, their potential is almost equal to Granit.

But IRL Granite has never been air shot, only by submarines and nuclear battlecruisers. It needs its launcher to be flooded pre-start. Besides, it needs satellite targeting which ships can receive and planes can't.
Even a lighter sea-based Moskit ASM was just shown hung under a Sukhoi fighter but never launched from.

@@nirvana3921 IL-28 has never been a missile bomber, it used (and still uses in DPRK 🇰🇵) bombs including nukes, and naval version is a torpedo bomber carrying two 45 cm torpedoes. Not any missiles on board, too small to carry them in bomb bay and doesn't have underwing positions for missiles.
Tu-16 had large variety of ASMs to use but not Granites. These she used:
- KS-1 Komet (AS-1 Kennel), such a semi-homing kamikaze drone version of MiG-15;
- K-10S/SN/SNB (AS-2 Kipper) - a supersonic missile with a cheap version of MiG-19's turbojet engine;
- KSR-2 and it's antiradar version KSR-11 (AS-5 Kelt) - liquid-fueled missiles;
- KSR-5 (AS-6 Kingfish) - a scaled-down version of Kh-22.
Kh-22 was developed to arm Tu-22 Blinders and Tu-22M Backfires but also used by some Tu-16s and Tu-95s.

@@Romosol2012 The GBU-8's TV guidance is aimed at the center of the ship, so it doesn't do much damage. The laser-guided bomb that can pinpoint the bottom of the turret is easy to use.
