Shouldn’t you have to waste for the trimming and dehydration process? Also would you include the waste of the marinade how you you factor that into the waste? Thank you hope you understand what I’m saying !

I was wondering though, the recipe that was entered in, was that the pre dried meat weight + all marinade ingredients or the weight of the already dried jerky? Also, when I make my jerky, there is always a bunch of marinade leftover. How do you account for that when trying to do a nutritional label? Do you add a percentage of waste assuming only half or so is used?
Yes great question. The amount "soaked" into the meat is VERY hard to judge when making the nutritional panel I use the full recipe and allow the software to calculate. MANY foods even those that are massed produced on the market are OFF not accurate they are a ROUGH at best estimate . There was a report I read about the food industry that almost 20% of all nutritional labels are wrong!
