  • It's been 18 months since the sad demise of my first Lidl EDF conversion. Time to re build! I'll be incorporating some new methods and we will see how it works out!!

    Awesome work, my friend! 😃
The hot wire cutter is an excellent idea indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Wow, excellent work! I'm planning to build something similar. 5:24 elevator spar is 3 mm in diameter. Could you please share the diameter of the carbon fiber spar in the wing and in the fuselage? I'm building my shopping cart now to order materials and can't decide on diameters or the rods :D

Hey thanks! The wing and fuselage are both 5mm th-cam.com/video/7Os3m2Rz1b8/w-d-xo.html Have a great day!

Very neat idea hot wiring the fuselage - wish I’d thought of it!!! My only comment is that the fan assembly appears to be very+ with respect to the thrust line. As it’s positioned behind the CG won’t it give a considerable nose down couple? Is this how you set up your original model?

Hi Tom, didn't think anyone from the "club" watched my vids!! I share your concern re the thrust line. Here is where it started out : th-cam.com/video/xWBpUvsQzeg/w-d-xo.html and this was the final position : th-cam.com/video/H0F7Y3d3R6E/w-d-xo.html The new version is close to the last version so we will see!! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Thanks for the interesting build video. I look forward to seeing the the flight one. Just one minor remark : I've had crashes as bad as that (many, many) and have managed to repair the damage relatively easily just as long as you've got all the bits! I use Scotch Gel Glue which is sold here in Belgium for €5.50 for 3 medium sized tubes. It works really well. I spread glue on the damaged parts and then seal the 'wound' as a surgeon would with narrow strips of duct tape.

You're welcome! I considered it a write off as the main wing was in half and it even broke the carbon strip in it! Hence carbon rod this time. Will take a look at the Scotch glue, have you compared it to UHU Por? Have a great evening!!

Haven't tried POR though I've heard a lot about it. I think it's a lot more expensive than Scotch, not that that's the only considerarion. A guy in the club recommended Scotch to me, hence my choice. Good luck with the maiden.@@1nformatica

@@richardhayes200 Seems the situation here in Spain is the reverse! A single 30g tube of Scotch Gel is around 8€ including shipping!! Tell me your supplier in Belgium, maybe I can order from them!! Hope to maiden this Wednesday weather permitting!!

Scotch Gel Glue is sold in packs of 3 X 30ml for €5.50 by a chain of supermarkets called Colruyt, similar to Teco, Aldi etc. I've not tried looking for it elsewhere. Good luck on Wednesday!
