Thanks for watching! This is where I post corrections, since I always manage to get a thing or two wrong. Importantly, DISKOUNT VODKA IS AVAILABLE ON STREAMING. I'm not sure how I missed them when I searched! Second, I should've made it more clear that this video is a follow-up to "Punk's Not Dead," and you'll see a link to that video at the end of this one if you're curious. In that video, female/trans fronted bands I discussed were Gel, Amyl & the Sniffers, Otoboke Beaver, and Petrol Girls. That's why some of them were mentioned but not featured in this one!
Hi...greedings from North Germany,,.try ,,Todeskomando Atomsturm-nein,, ,,Dead end kids-Frida und die Bomben,,(it,s a cover) ,,Shitshow,,. ,,Huora-normalii,,(from Finnland).."enjoy german.
It's such a good album... the songs from it are constantly stuck in my head. And thank you! Considering I'm really trying to improve and figure out my own style, that's a big compliment.
I had meant to mention who had been in the "Punk's Not Dead" video in the intro, since those bands were off limits for this one, but totally forgot... and Gel, Otoboke Beaver, Petrol Girls, and Amyl and the Sniffers were all in that one :)
Thank you!!! Great video, and looking forward to checking out all these bands, though I'm already on to Mannequin Pussy and Die Spitz(whom I saw live at a skate park here in Boise last year, so great). This kind of music, for me, is the most interesting and fun being made today. Brutus is a fav this last year..... Alright, I gotta start looking these up, LOL. Thx, again. Happy New Year!!!
great list..ive been a fan of Lambrini Girls since the beginning of this year..excited for the debut full length in january..other bands to check out include Shooting Daggers, Gel, Hawxx, Alt Blk Era, Wisp and The Neverminds (both more shoegaze), Chalk, Heartworms, Brat, Fures, Gut Health, Witch Club Satan, Radar Men from The Moon...
Thanks, I appreciate the comment! I'm trying to put out the best videos I can, but it has actually surprised me how fast the subscribers and views have been growing. I was at 18 subscribers 3 months ago, so seeing I'm above 4K now is still hard to wrap my head around, haha
Great picks, never heard of any of them, but definitely some good bands here! I can recommedn For I Am, a Belgian (pop)punk band that's been around for a while, but only recently started doing shows outside of Belgium. Great musicians, and the singer has an awesom voice (and she's just awesome, a colleague of my brother). Less punk, but very unique (and insanely good) is Brutus, also from Belgium. Not gonna spoil what's so special about the vocalist, but check out the videcoclip of "war", and you'll be in for a surprise. And yes, she does this live as well. They just finished their tour for "Unison Life", where they toured in the USA over summer, together with Architects. (completely different style, though). I'm sure you and your viewers will love Brutus.
Great list. Lambrini's have been a fav of mine. Also just to throw some more out there - The Sprints from Ireland and Split System from auz. Thanks for all the new stuff to listen too!!!
For the female fronted bands i recommend the Belgian band Cocaine Piss (although they have split, they have a large discography), they are a quite extreme and raw punk band. I found them through the song 'Pigeon'. Another band i can recommend is Oozing Wound from Chicago, although not exactly punk (noise), the attitude is there. I got to know them from the song 'Diver', and is still one of the catchiest riffs i've ever heard. The band is also a great stepping stone into noise rock legends 'Raketkanon' with my favourite song 'Florent'.
@bloomtv3-thealtchannel368 my pleasure. You seemed to like otoboke beaver, so i think you might appreciate cocaine piss. The band name pretty much describes them.
Good stuff !! I heard Die Spitz awhile back on KEXP. Great high energy performance ..I’ll certainly give the others a listen too A couple other female fronts I like right now: Dog Race Bully Destroy Boys Blood Command Gouge Away ..& thanks, I believe it was you recommended Vision Video a while back. I’m really enjoying them👍
Ah, glad you've been enjoying Vision Video, and I appreciate you watching videos from multiple genres! Yeah, Die Spitz's KEXP set was great, and working on this video got me even more hooked on their music. The Las Vegas show I pulled some footage from for this video is awesome: th-cam.com/video/E76OI1yNY5M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Zk5bU7jgbfB5VGUe I've not heard Blood Command or Dog Race. Thanks for the recs, I'll give them a try!
Yes ,,I agree....found them once ,,love their style of PunkRock...greedings from northernGermany ,,some day I came overseas to party them at a gig..🎸✌️🍺
Babe Haven is probably my favorite female fronted punk (or really one of my favorite bands from any gender or genre) right now. They are really new but already have two full lengths out! And they have an hour long set posted on their TH-cam channel that is really fun to watch Also love Dear Evangeline, and Buggin! "All eyes on you. You and your crew"!
Thanks for the recommendations! I've heard a song or two by Babe Haven, but need to give them more of a full listen. Same with Buggin, and I've not heard of Dear Evangeline. Cheers!
That's so weird, when I looked the other day I couldn't find them! They're definitely there though, and on Apple Music too. I hope they make it to the UK at some point :)
New subscriber here. No brainer given the plaudits accorded to Die Spitz who are the dogs bollocks. Recommended tunes, "Kill Mr Jones" and, of course, "I hate when girls die". I'd also like to recommend We Hate You Please Die. Mixed genre with punk attitude. Check out the tune "Control". Great list by the way. Loads of bands for me to check out now. Thanks.
Thanks for the rec! I haven't had a chance to check them out yet, but they're on the list now. Yeah, Die Spitz is probably my most listened-to, other than Mannequin Pussy, from this whole video. They're consistently amazing, and they look like they put on a great live show.
Die Spitz is an absolute gem of a band!! I had never heard of them until I saw them open for Amyl and the Sniffers and they came out and played a set that completely blew the entire crowd away. Been a die hard die spitz fan ever since. Thanks for putting them on the list!!
I bet seeing them live without knowing what you were about to witness was something! I can't wait for them to come through the UK again now that they're on my radar.
Great topic. Great bands. Pls, pls check out 2 of my favourite. 1. A_Void ❤❤❤ frontfemale Cammike Alexander is a breathtaking live perfomer. The band opend many times for Lambrini girls. 2. Not a bad list, it's even got some bands I haven't heard on it. Not the 9 I'd have picked, Id have picked Press Club , Amyl and the Sniffers, and some of the harder bands like Buggin', GEL, Jivebomb, and Spaced.
My list would change regularly too! And a couple of those bands were left out because I already covered them in "Punk's Not Dead"... I should've mentioned who those were in this video, but forgot to include that!
Habak and Flower are my favorites right now. Garmonbozia (the one with the cello player that have the song Ugly). Appalachian Terror Unit Lifeless Dark Red Thread Nausea though there were two lead singers, 1 a woman and 1 a man. Same for Rezillos and other early UK Anarcho punk acts (Crass, Fleas and Lice, etc).
since no clips of the bands were featured, i got out a small notebook, and hit the comments for bands to check out. it's an interesting read: diskount vodka, mannequin pussy. scowl, slaughterhouse violencia, bobby lee's. 18fevers initiate the fondled cosmic kitten. lambrini girls, le butcherettes. bad cop bad cop, femcel snooper. dick move.
You know, I don't think I've ever heard them! I'm going to fix that today. They look like they'd be my kind of thing! Any particular album you recommend starting with?
Right? The same idiots probably don't realise that rock music itself was created by Black musicians, and that even country music has had Black artists since its earliest days, since it grew out of folk and the blues.
It was really frustrating to hear about the backlash towards that Trolls band (haven’t heard them yet) and you for covering the band. What happened to the punk scene with all these people coming in from a place that punk music has always fought against? These people have lost the plot and the point of this genre/lifestyle to begin with.
It is very frustrating, and since I'm kind of new to this, I was maybe a bit naive about just how easy it would be to trigger some conservatives. I feel like maybe in the first waves of punk, you had some people who just claimed to have liberal views to fit in or to be confrontational, but they weren't actually committed to those values in any meaningful way. Which is disappointing, but it does kind of mirror the way most hippies just joined the mainstream society at a certain point.
Oh, and to clarify, it wasn't a band called The Trolls... I was trolling the trolls who had commented on that video! It was mostly about Petrol Girls, Gel, and Soul Glo.
nice list. ive seen Mannequin Pussy more than 10 times. you are right...this new album is outstanding. Snooper is great. i love female fronted more than male. some i love VOIID, Poppy, Cerce, Cosmic Kitten. very dynamic in their genres. mostly in your face but also have shoegaze elements and grunge element.
My favorite thing about this video is that these bands are actually punk. Often, I see videos about punk bands and it's about f**king Paramore or something. I'll sub to the channel, for sure! Die Spitz and Mugger TX are two bands that I really like. Other than Amyl (best album of the year for me), Die Spitz are probably my favorite punk/whatever band in recent years. Oh, also Bad Cop Bad Cop - they are cool, too.
Ah, I didn't think of Bad Cop Bad Cop, but they're great! Yeah, the more I listen to Die Spitz, the more I want to hear more of them. I'm really curious to see where they go from here considering they don't seem locked into any genre constraints and are very talented. I'll check out Mugger TX though, I've not heard of them before!
Check out a German band called “suck” start with a song called gravedigger. If there’s any of their “Ribbit” albums left on Bandcamp snag one. Also check out a band from Belgium called “Maria Iskariot”. Start with a live vid on TH-cam called “Leugenaar”. Also a recent Bandcamp vinyl drop.
I would if it didn't open me up to getting flagged for copyright violations. But I do have a playlist to go along with it, both on TH-cam and on Spotify.
Crass (Penis Envy) is the ultimate. A lot of their own fan base rejected the album when it was released. Crass will always be #1 for my choice involving anything punk. I am so happy I got to see them live
Ah, you saw them live? I'm envious, they're one of my favourites as well! That anarcho-punk scene had a lot of my favourite punk. I've not yet covered any early punk on this channel, but I do want to talk about Crass, Poison Girls (who I'm guessing you already know), and Rudimentary Peni for being some of the most innovative and hard-hitting punk. Was the rejection of Penis Envy based more on the fact that it was more experimental, or the shift in who was doing vocals?
@@eclecticism-uk Dude, yesss! Crass has been such an influence since I was in highschool. I don't have much punk on rotation except for Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Rudimentary Peni ECT. From what I read, it was a rejection of the female led album. It's an absolute banger though. Oh I saw Crass, or 'Steve Ignorant and the ____' at Punk Rock Bowling. They played a show outside of the festival in Vegas and that was the best one. It was the year NOFX got in trouble for making that joke about the Vegas country show lol They had Angelic Upstarts, and The Slaves playing also. Oh, let me give you some female led bands I've been digging: -Automatic (Band): NRG, Too Much Money -La Femme: Packshot, La Femme, Mycose, Sphinx -Sextile: (not 100% female led) Contortion, Modern Weekend, Crassy Mel Hope you get to see Crass one day. Shit got me emotional. They are true working class heros. Keep up the great work bud 👊
What about 'Cosey Müller' from Berlin??? No 'Otoboke beaver' ??? No 'surfboart ??! Go to the concerts, mate. Talkin' about something, you never met! Poor boy, punks never had beards...
If you're trying to make someone else look like a poseur, at least know how to spell the names of the bands you're bringing up like Surfbort. Second, I've already covered Otoboke Beaver (and talked about their live show) on this channel. Third, feel free to tell your theory about punks not having beards to Bad Brains, or Henry Rollins, I'm sure they'll all agree you're the REAL authority on punk 🤣
Missing a few key ones, like The Distillers, The Interrupters, Alien Boys (who were reorganized from the original band Rebel Spell). Will keep track of these bands from the video list though, and give a listen.
i saw the Lambrini girls , their music was great , but i didn't believe the message they brought it felt fabricated , like oh palestina is a hot issue let's feel idignant about that and just yell some pamflet sentences
Just watching Mannequin Pussy on KEXP (from two years ago). Very talented band. This is the kind of band that deserves way more attention then Amyl and the Sniffers, who I think are WAY over-hyped.
Thanks for watching! This is where I post corrections, since I always manage to get a thing or two wrong. Importantly, DISKOUNT VODKA IS AVAILABLE ON STREAMING. I'm not sure how I missed them when I searched!

GEL
GEL is amazing
Yay! More bands to check out! The initial video (and its comment section) got me to find so much good stuff over the past few months!
That's awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed, and hope you find some new favourites in here! Thanks for watching the videos :)

MP have my favorite album of the year. Incredible depth.
Here are a few more worth mentioning:
The Rumours
Brat
Capra
Otoboke Beaver
Escuela Grind
I seriously thought about Brat and Escuela Grind, but didn't want the list to lean TOO hardcore. And Otoboke Beaver is one of my very favourites!
@@eclecticism-uk I hope being "too hardcore" is the only reason Gel is not on the list :)

If you like that lot try Buggin too - Concrete Cowboys from 2023 is awesome
Just found the channel love you already. Thank you for sharing with us ❤
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it! New video is coming out today actually. I hope you enjoy some of the new bands you found on here!
I loved the selection you have chosen. Thanks to you I found some pretty good new bands I was not aware of..

The best female fronted punk at the moment for me is Slaughterhouse, well worth your time checking them out.
tx, she has a great voice..sexy as well
I'm enjoying watching the Linda Lindas mature.
Yeah, their newest one is my favourite they've done so far!

Incredible video dude! I thought for sure this was a channel with 10s of 1000s of subscribers. You're punching well above your weight.

Amyl and the Sniffers for the win.

Wow, only Violencia to check out. All the others I have been following already. Not too bad for a 67 year old punk who is not stuck in the past.
Honestly, I hope I'm that tapped into what's going on when I'm in my 60's!
Awesome. I'm only 60 but def love looking forward, not getting stuck somewhen...
My favorite semi female fronted punk band is The Fondled
Amyl and the Sniffers? The Pill?
@@turanarcher Amyl & the Sniffers were in the original video this one was a follow-up to. But no, I still haven’t covered The Pill!
Listen to Delilah Bon . Feminist style brat punk
all great, that band Gel is my drug rn
Gel is awesome. The new EP is really good!
Top 3: Otoboke Beaver, GEL and Amyl and the Sniffers. Or 3 times OB ❤
I can't argue with any of those picks! Otoboke Beaver is one of my favourite bands
Itchy and the Nits!
Wow, I'm still on track one and I'm already in love. Good call!
I'm surprised about people complaining that punk is "too woke". Punk has always addressed injustice. Nothing new about that.
I would love another sweet voiced pop punk vocalist like Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday
War on women
Daisy Grenade?
Please include clips of the actual music...
I would if it didn't open me up to getting flagged for copyright violations. But I do have a playlist to go along with it, both on TH-cam and on Spotify.
@eclecticism-uk no worries. Thanks for replying to me. Cheers
Love your comments to the trolls! Rock on!
here is a couple bands for you . 95 bulls female singer and pinky rings all female check them out . punk it up
Midnight Peg. You'll thank me later.
I think we should all go and listen to Anarchistwood from London
Martirio from Fresno, California
😂 the apology
bad brains are woke! in that case, we should all stop listening to punk, and start following country music, instead. right?
Sooo, I hate to tell you, but there's this fellow called Lil Nas X....
Thanks for the great list.
Gotta add www.youtube.com/@BabeHaven
Oh hell yeah! I've never heard them before, but I'm checking them out now and they're great.
It was the year NOFX got in trouble for making that joke about the Vegas country show lol
They had Angelic Upstarts, and The Slaves playing also.
Oh, let me give you some female led bands I've been digging:
-Automatic (Band): NRG, Too Much Money
-La Femme: Packshot, La Femme, Mycose, Sphinx
-Sextile: (not 100% female led) Contortion, Modern Weekend, Crassy Mel
Hope you get to see Crass one day.
Missed out Split Dogs, probably better than anything on the list
Gel
Gel, Skating Polly, HotWax...
In France, we have Johnnie Carwash😉
Missing a few key ones, like The Distillers, The Interrupters, Alien Boys (who were reorganized from the original band Rebel Spell). Will keep track of these bands from the video list though, and give a listen.
The Distillers are great! I need to check out the other two, though. Thanks for the suggestions!
...if the black keys 🤣
Take a look at Hawxx and Delilah Bon
Some of Carr's stuff is very punky
Not on tour
NOBRO check em out!
Watching Scowl turn into Hole is pretty cringe.
Check out NASCAR ALOE . LOL
Surfbort.
Terminal Sleep!!!!!
i saw the Lambrini girls , their music was great , but i didn't believe the message they brought it felt fabricated , like oh palestina is a hot issue let's feel idignant about that and just yell some pamflet sentences
Just watching Mannequin Pussy on KEXP (from two years ago). Very talented band. This is the kind of band that deserves way more attention then Amyl and the Sniffers, who I think are WAY over-hyped.
