  • We love Michael Singer’s work. As long as he and TH-cam allow us to post these videos, we will.
We do not receive ad revenue from these videos, but TH-cam may.
If you would like to learn more about Michael Singer’s work, here are a few suggestions:
    - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday, he releases talks at www.tou.org.
    - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday night, he gives a live talk at his Temple of the Universe in Alachua, Florida. Anyone can attend for free.
He’s written several books. They are phenomenal, even the ones written in the seventies. (We will receive a commission if you purchase books through these links.)

If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.

Lately I've been turning resistance into acceptance by saying Thank You. I usually don't mean it at first 😊, but I soon remember that the Universe put these circumstances in front of me so I could heal. So I could go to God. And I always want to go to God more than I want whatever silly disturbance is before me. So I accept it and release. Anyone else have helpful tips about getting past a disturbance?

i relax back into it and imagine my arms spread wide like jesus on cross or being dunked backwards into the water like the baptism in the pond

i physically make the motion with my arms and literally lean back while standing (not too far as to fall) and imagine the light of the hold spirit pouring out of my belly as I breath deeply

Similar to you. In therapy, I learned how to identify my inner child/heart/feelings/emotions... so like you... sometimes I say thank you... and sometimes I say thank you JEFFREY.... and sometimes I ask... who am I that's experiencing, seeing, hearing whatever is in front of me. And I totally understand that I don't always mean "thank you" or "I like this" 😂 that's why do I enjoy the phrase...I can and will handle it...

@justaman33 "who am I that's experiencing, seeing, hearing whatever is in front of me."
... excellent point. Reminds me I don't have to go to God. I am in God. I've only forgotten. Beautiful. Thank you.

Just as Mickey taught, I find relaxing the body very helpful. When I'm in a social situation, I notice the body crouches, arms crossing, getting all fidgety, looking down, and doing A LOT of other unnecessary movements. I've come to realize that this is the body externalizing how I resist things inside. Literally "body language". When it happens, I take a deep breath and relax the whole body, which helps break the habit of "protecting" my self.
Also, I've come to realize that the mind randomly being busy trying to "solve a problem" is also a disturbance, not just the emotion/energy I feel in the body. When I notice the mind trying to fix things, I drop it like physically dropping my phone on the ground

Turning every moment of resistance into a moment of acceptance, and becoming wise enough to know it’s not going to happen in one day, willing to give it your absolute best in every moment, and decide it’s a fun thing to do!
    Let’s do this!! 🙏🏼😄👏🏼

Brilliant teaching. Resistance is hard not to do and takes alot of mindfulness & practice to let go and accept. Control is Resistance....to protect oneself because of fear.

Michael singer’s voice has become a peaceful affirmation and meditation for me on my path of surrender. I’m in the deep depths of my repressed traumas being pulled out of me to be felt and released. I am in acceptance of it all. I even feel joy now when I come across a circumstance that makes me feel uncomfortable emotions I know I had repressed in the past. It’s like an excitement for getting rid of what my divine has decided to rid me of.

*Am I the only one who's resisting the tone of voice here, in this particular talk - amused, humorous, a bit patronising (feels like it)?* There's some talks where I can relax into awareness.
*This is not one of them.*
Am saying this for the person who, like me, experiences a lot of resistance. It nay be only one other person. This is for you. I go asleep listening to a Michael Singer talk. But this one gets my back up! I forgive myself! I'm moving on. Thank you, Michael for your determination and the regular talks. I have found some of them incredibly useful ... lifesaving.

7:00 (Spending your whole life resisting and fearing everything is no fun)
8:12 (Even the masters feel tested from time to time. They are not afraid of disturbances.)
    11:33 (Control issues)
13:31 (Control keeps experiences from coming in.)
19:49 (It's ok to feel resistance, it's not your fault, it's leftover from fear.)
21:52 (Use such moments to explore yourself, relax, release. Turn resistance into acceptance on a moment by moment basis.)
22:53 (Your best is always good enough. Keep doing the best you can and have fun at the game.)

This is a key idea and it’s subtle. Acceptance is hard to maintain. I want to control all the pieces on the chessboard. When I’m in a state of resistance, I’m exhausted and depressed.
