I originally liked this video years ago and even in 2020 this remains one of my favourite covers in my list of liked videos. This is timeless and will always be awesome.
Sorry guys. Not making the software available.. Mainly because it was really dodgy, and I'd have to write a manual on how to use it. Actually took quite a bit of preparation to get things running too. Maybe if I do another one, I'll improve the software, and make it available. I could maybe make the MIDI available if anyone was interested though
Okay. Let me guess. Your university or school is built over aperture and you got GlaDoS to controll those computers for ya right? Aperture is a big place huh?
Nice! That program seems to work well. It's really nice to hear all the notes together, without it having to switch between them. The scrolling words are nice, too.
Wow! That computer lab looks like it could very well have been from my old High School, Maroochydore State High School! And all the computers look exactly like what is used at my current High School. And the chairs. Great job on the video btw. I once did the first part of Still Alive in QBasic using two computers and showed a couple of teachers.
@FDaihatsu - just wrote a very VERY basic TCP listener. Then had all the IPs of the slave computers in a list on the "master" PC. The master program literally initiates a connection to each IP on a particular port. The clients start as soon as they detect a connection. Efficient? No. Reliable? No. Fun? Yes.
PC Speaker was able to play music, not just chiptune pritty prutty. My first pc game that was able to play music through it is the Pinball Illusions. Impulse Tracker was also able to play the module music. I hacked my speaker into my hifi and played it loud :D
Hell, yeah. Fast Tracker II gives two options for how to play through the speaker: Single Bit (noisy) and Pulse Mod (quiet). The latter might not be as good as a proper sound card, but it's still pretty damn good.
I had a stupid moment which didnt turn out to be good though, because i played the video and the original want you gone together, which sounds great. After them i pulled out audacity and mixed the sound of the video together with want you gone. The timing is also perfect
Great stuff! Could use more bass - consider using floppy drive motors (check out eg. Phantom of the Floppera). I bet it looses a lot of the "spaciality" in the recording without a good stereo microphone setup. Perhaps rewrite it to distribute notes across TCP to an arbitrary number of computers. =)
@jack0halliwell 1 master computer ran a program, and the slaves ran a different program. Don't know where the source is to be honest. Didn't take more than a couple of hours to write though.
@MrPrectWinter I'm surprised it's got this many views to be honest. It worked its way up to 200 views over 4 weeks. Then all of a sudden it was getting 500+ a day

Ah cheers dude. Appreciate that! :)
@@nimajnebev yo, how are you? after a video like this, you must be somewhere, doing something interesting.
@@cadeblockade426 haha thank you. I work in computer vision now, so I guess that's interesting? 🙂

If MP3 ringtones hadn't replaced Polyphonic ones, this would be the most popular ringtone in existence.

Cave Johnson told him to shove those lemons up where the sun doesn't shine. OP Misunderstood...
If someplace opens up and it’s called “Aperture Laboratories” I don’t even know
Don’t give these computers any nerve agents for testing with cats in boxes
Don’t drink the water. They put something in it to make you forget. I don’t even remember how I got here.
@@3ofSpades i heard it makes frogs gay too
This has to be the coolest thing I've seen from a PC speaker setup. Awesome!

Programming: Good. Synchronization: Perfect. Composition: Adequate. Filming: Could be better.
Yeah, perfectly described
omfg the fact this is 11 years ago im so sad rn bro. this is so nice to see after such a loing time!!!!!!!!!!!
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Being recommended and stumbling upon videos that are over a decade old are one of the best parts of TH-cam imho
Imagine one of your teachers walking in and being like, how did you do this?, And you’re just like I don’t know just figured it out.
In the video description I found "Let me know if you like it."
WTF ??? IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO DISLIKE THIS ????
Amazing work ;)
Not anymore it isn't :^)
I have personal beef with those 37 people
Is it sad that i'm almost crying? This sounds so awesome :D
bro, ik ur prob 30, but like, same. it sounds so good, even after all these years.
@@cadeblockade426 27 now! Still sounds as good as it did the first time 💕
@@cadeblockade426i heard it on roblox before, but chiptune is much more vibrant… it makes me feel sad, with a hit of sower-ness to it…
I think this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Straight into my “art” playlist
This really needs more views. Great job.
how tf does this don't have a million views yet
My favorite part was the part of the song where Glados says "oh! Did you think I meant you?" great job! :)
Wow this was so awesome! It definitely needs more attention!!
This Makes Me Wish The PC Speaker Has More Voices Than Just One
The 12 dislikes are the computers because they did not get cake after all their hard work
@SomethingUnreal Thanks man! Much appreciated.
Woah thats awesome great job!

GLaDOS is taking over all the schools in the world! :D
Wait... Is that bad?
Maybe, she's probably gonna kill everyone with neurotoxinz lel
If “bring your daughter to work day” was any indication
This is magnificent, and you are awesome.
You can't explain that.
Serious dedication to this here, great work.
Now THAT'S sequencing!!
I can't grasph its entire magnificence. Thank you.
That would involve getting an Education degree :-)
Ha ha. Looks like a custodian has too much time on his hands. Awesome
Dude you are a LEGEND. That is quite possibly one of the most amazing things ever!!!!!
Any chance of Still Alive?
This is wonderful and you should feel wonderful.
Wow, this is amazing! :D
Me: “I ask my dad what he’s doing in the office”
Dad:
The school better have given you an A++ for that!

Amazing.
Damn amazing :D!

Very epic :)! Nice work!
@Motishay Haha. Thanks dude. Don't think Ray would be interested in something like this, but cheers anyway :)
So awesome -u-
AWESOME!
Great Job!
@XzTS I Think they were Thinkcentres. I liked thinkcentres, so I watched a thinkcentre while using a thinkcentre. THINKCEPTION
In my view (A computer programmer) that was fucking beautiful
Great stuff! Could use more bass - consider using floppy drive motors (check out eg. Phantom of the Floppera). I bet it looses a lot of the "spaciality" in the recording without a good stereo microphone setup. Perhaps rewrite it to distribute notes across TCP to an arbitrary number of computers. =)
AH-MAZING
@nimajnebev You're on the internet my friend. We ALL have too much time on our hands, and yet I still haven't bothered to change my youtube name.
@jack0halliwell 1 master computer ran a program, and the slaves ran a different program.
Don't know where the source is to be honest. Didn't take more than a couple of hours to write though.
@MatrixCat3D These machines don't have floppy drives unfortunately.
so this is what you do at "work" :)
That red bar is too big, let's make that green one bigger.

when i see this kind of win i dont understand why people frown upon nerds this rocks ehm i mean potatoes!!!
@adairf625 See the description. Arranged the song into 9 independent parts, then made a program to play each part and scroll words.
This would make an awesome harmless virus just as a joke for my school :)
@smsff7 Thanks. Maybe I'll do another vid in the same style if I get time.
Nice work. Did anyone else notice that this guy sounds like Wheatley?
teachers want you gone
@Zapwave No GLaDOS kills the Teacher with deadly neurotoxin :)
Damn dude, how did you get away with pulling this off in a lab. Most schools would have a total bitch-fit over something like this.
that was awsome
Good job
Noice! Were all of those IBM|Lenovo "Think" machines?! =D
Epic WIN!!!
AWESOME!!!
WTF. Amazing
@Dashn1YT Genius? I think I just had too much time on my hands ;-)
How did you get them to run all at the same time? Was it some kind of networked program?
Of course wheatly would probly do this if he ever gets back on earth
If I had a womb, you'd be welcome to it x
Ow man realy nice but dont let ur school mates find out what u did!
I don't know if you'll read this but why aren't YOU teaching our Software class? I'm sure you'd do great.
@XzTS The one I have is IBM, but the ones in the video are Lenovo.
CUTE!
@Robloxian182
They are ThinkCentres, but the real question is: "Were they IBM or Lenovo?"
also, =O
@philbateman1989 Yea. Wrote a small program to do it.
You are a fucking genious!
WOW... Love it! :D
@neofox411 If it's not already obvious, I really do not like Lenovo right now. The Thinkpad I'm stuck with is an absolute lemon. x.x
Ok... that is cool
