  • How to adjust the brakes on a Coleman CC100X mini bike in less than a minute. The small brake pad will easily wear down with use, especially with heavier riders, so knowing how to do this simple fix will get your brakes back in shape.

    That center screw under the nut is what saved the day. Thanks
    FYI things can get frustrating if you take off the nut all the way and the arm lever, and spring come out. Re-seating the spring with the cable attached is a PITA, but I got it done.

      Lol that was my only suggestion too was to not completely remove the arm assembly since lining up the spring underneath is def PITA 😂 (found out hard way)

    Gawd. I've bought and replaced with new calipers multiple times already before seeing this. Thanks for the info.

    Thanks a lot for the info. Recently wrecked my bike and snapped the brake handle off so had to replace it. The brakes were almost nonexistent after I replaced it. I figured there had to be a way to tighten the brake pads up and this tutorial explained it perfectly. Only thing I suggest is to not completely remove the arm cuz it can be a pain in the ass to get the spring underneath lined up properly (found out the hard way lol)

    The bike came with the inside brake pad touching the disk which created lots of drag and a scraping noise. After fiddling with the middle screw you show on the video I figured out it’s the two larger nuts on either side of that middle one that need adjustment for the inside pad.

    Is the inside part of the brake pad supposed to touch the disc? Or should the pads not touch anything at all?

      You want to have very close to zero gap when you haven't squeezed the brake lever.

    I am having that same problem with my mini bike brake now but mines got a drum brake on it. Still though i go to pull the brake lever and get nothing at all. I tried messing with the assembly but can't figure it out. I even bought a brand new brake cable. Still notta !! The drum brake assembly doesn't have those adjuster screws on it either. I don't know what to do.

    I just got a brand new mini bike the other so I can finally do Uber eats and feed my family. I have bee failing to fix my breaks with the tools I have. I've stripped bolts and everything from trying to get it to stop rubbing and making my chain Jerk. I cannot find and answer and I got so frustrated I almost started getting ready to just break everything and forget it.
    Please someone help me get it to stop rubbing and making my chain jerk...if I don't have transport we won't be able to keep lights on soon. Please someone help...

    When I unscrewed the part at 1:24 it didnt work and a spring pushed the brake part out. Can you help?

    • @LifeWithSevenSons
      @LifeWithSevenSons  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that can be tricky to put back together. You need to align the spring in a little hole on each end. Then you need to loosen the cable from the square block so you can get it back in the arm.

    • @matthewsamples6514
      @matthewsamples6514 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeWithSevenSons Does tension play a part in keeping this together? My assembly fell apart like the original posters. I aligned the spring in both slots but when I try to screw the nut back on the nut just slides on and off of the screw…like it’s stripped.

      How do you loosen the wire though?

    is the brake pad closest to the wheel, supposed to be touching the rotor?

    • @LifeWithSevenSons
      @LifeWithSevenSons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the brake rotor should not touch the pads until the brake lever is pulled.

    • @haljasonfoster2169
      @haljasonfoster2169 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I first got the bike the inside pad was touching, it is no supposed to be and created drag and scrapping noise. The two screws on either side of the middle one helped adjust it.
