Why doesn't anyone ever talk about Tornado Burger? This is the true gem of Houston fast food, and can go toe-to-toe With the best burger chains around.
Its great but its not really a texas widespread chain though. Most texans have to make the drive to get Tornado burger, but Whataburger is everywhere in Texas. In n out is the most available Cali chain and WB is the most in Texas so its the perfect battle

The Unorthodox Encounter I doubt you have ever tried Whataburger. Your friend probably only tried the generic burger instead of trying the all time favorites like the patty melt.
As a Texan that has eat at 3 In & Out locations in Texas several times I can say they make a Good Burger. You got to respect a place than makes burgers, fries and shakes. It’s a limited menu but it’s good. Not a big fan of 1000 island dressing so animal style fries aren’t my deal. I think the Bigger reason Whataburger is more popular in Texas and many places is that it’s open 24/7. You get the late night bar closing crowds looking for food after a long night. People bond over that experience. In & Out doesn’t do that. They avoid it. Which is why Whataburger reigns supreme in college towns and major cities.

In my opinion, the quality at In-n-out is better (not by a far shot), reasonable price and the workers are paid very well BUT Whataburger portions are Texas sized, excellent fries, far greater food offering and there Texas based.

There is reason for that. In n out is so fresh they have to have there warehouse near the location. You know...that way their food is fresh.. consistency. Something whataburger will never know about.

I’ve heard the hoopla about the Cali chain and I tried it once. Big mistake nothing special. I went back to Whataburger that delicious mouth watering taste of fresh beef and the ohh Soo yummy cheese and never tried an In N Out burger ever again. Whataburger for the win.
