It's not hard to imagine a food desert. Open a store, people in that neighborhood steal stuff, store closes.

The reasons why big rental don't build there is several for example not enough people or if there is, theft is high making it not worth it.

Put your criminals in prison that would help

When nearly everybody in the neighborhood steals it makes little sense to open a retail business there including a grocery store.

When that's going on, the only solution I can think of is that they do an order-online-pickup-in-store only and no access to merchandise. 🤔

The H‑E‑B at McGreggor and 288 is the first big grocery store anywhere in that area. It opened late 2019, just before the lockdown. The managers are women of color-that is a miracle for that company.

Don't forget about the HEB that was on ost and Scott before they moved to 288 and MacGregor.

People think everyone has a car but that is not true. Many people are unable to drive.

Though you may not drive a great big Cadillac, Diamond in the back, sunroof top, diggin' the scene with a gangsta lean, gangsta whitewalls, TV antennas in the back. You may not have a car at all. But remember brothers and sisters, you can still stand tall. Just be thankful for what you you've got.

Well shoot you live in a city that dedicates Sundays to slabs or swangas, basically stay indoors if you regularly walk or jog to your destinations you could lose a leg or two.

Counting it down until there’s an armed robbery or a riot and looting.

They could put a Kroger on an H‑E‑B store somewhere in the food desert.

Why? Maybe you voted for pro criminal politicians ,Judges and DA. These small markets are there to make a profit. If you KEEP these markets safe they will stsy if NOT they will close shop. There is always a reason a market closes ( criminals reign)
