I learned about this piece while watching The Great Beauty and this is the best rendition on TH-cam. I am hypnotized by it, the longing, and sorrowful tone. I come back regularly to watch and listen. ♥
Fenomenalny utwór i wykonanie! Serce wznosi się ku wyżynom, ku Bogu! Bardzo, bardzo dziękuję Pani, organiście oraz wszystkim, którzy się do tego przyczynili; a już na pewno - Arvo Part - mistrz muzyki mistycznej
Also Błażej Musiałczyk on organ must have a big compliment for this. Without his separate tones, so strong and so alone in this church, this feeling would never have entered.
This has been my musical exercise every day since some time. It cleanes my soul from unnecessary fat and colesterole and shapens my focus on the eternal issues. My EKG stays stable due to this music. Thank you Arvo and Malgorzata.
Gosia, masz dar do hipnotyzowania ludzi. Przepiękny głos, w ogóle cała jesteś piękna! Organista też wspaniały! :)
In this performance, all is far superior splendor. Especially the comfort of her singing voice is off the charts, and beyond compare From A corner of Tokyo of Japan
Dear Malgorzata. This rendition is transcending! I was wondering if I could play it in the intro of an upcoming podcast about a young woman who lives in the Highlands of Scotland and it a game keeper & crofter, she will be speaking about the animals and plants of the highlands. I will of course give you credit and link to the video. Thank you! Philippe
You can find the podcast episode by searching Apple or Spotify, it's called Our Numinous Nature & the episode title is "My Heart's in the Scottish Highlands." Having your music makes it so so so special! Thank you!
This is such a beautiful piece and you have captured the church so well. Did you record the vocals seperately to the organ? The vocals sit on top so beautifully :)
besides its more about leaving and longing for the highlands than being in the highlands, it was composed when part was leaving in exile from Estonia and didn't know if he'd come back so the compositions really about that emotion of leaving your home, dosent have to have a bloody fiddle breakdown to create the atmosphere of the highlands.
further the original poems not about the actual highlands its also about longing for a romanticized place when your not there, so i dont get why you want the song to be about the actual place rather than complex human emotions, go listen to runrig if you want something like that.
Magnific! ❤️

Does nothing to conjure up Highland music or atmosphere ?
aye it dose, gotta say the original singer that part had may have done a better job but the tunes solid
