I love how fascinated Sjors is in his mini me. And RS, despite his submissive behavior, is fascinated by Sjors "We look alike". Uniek however, is still so protective of her baby. It's wonderful to see.

Sjors looks like a good natured uncle, when the curious foals approach him. He has a lovely, calm temperament.

The bond between Unique and Rising Star is very special. The Friesians are definitely bonded to Yvonne.
Uniek looks in GOOD shape. At first I thought, that can't be Rising Star....he couldn't have gotten that big that fast....but he's a tall boy with long legs...

I hope that Rising Star will be as impressive a horse as Sjors, who seems like a really gentle giant of a boy. The film of Sjors following the young woman who looks after him is charming. I think Rising Star knows Sjors isn't a threat to him but shows him the respect with his chewing motions.

Really great sections of this video! The part with the ducks and the horses peacefully grazing nearby, the nursing on Mom shots (amazing they didn't mind!), the interaction with Pake Sjor's & RS, Queen U. rolling - or almost rolling. We were told that when they roll over LL the way that is a sign of a healthy horse (not to say when they don't they are not healthy - as I am sure she was careful around RS). Anyway - some great video catches this day! (We are the Gandalf - Friesian/Dales owners :-)

Terra, we'll all miss RS when he returns to his owners. I'll try to be positive about it; after all they lost a beloved mare, and her foal was no longer at their farm. We've been blessed to see this wonderful story of foal adoption.

What a handsome horse Sjors is! When horses lay down like this in the sand, we call it a "sun bath." They are bathing in the sunshine. Look at the dapples in the horses coats! They are getting excellent feed with a good fat content. I see the foals are starting to loose their foal coats. Yvonne, what a beautiful day! I see you have rain now and will for a week. Do the horses go out in the rain? When is it too cold for them to be out...

I love these peaceful videos out in nature with the horses & their babes while getting to see the local wildlife, they are so relaxing. I can't believe how big all of the foals are getting including Rising Star. Sjors is so laidback & handsome, RS has a great role model in him.

Oh what a beautiful sight to wake up to seeing my 2 favorite redhead boys Pake Sjor’s and his little clone cousin Risy Sjor’s is every inch the majestic gelding and I have absolutely no doubt Risy too will turn heads when he’s all grown up. Sjor’s is such a kind easygoing gentleman with a special affinity for young foals it makes me smile to see how they all stick to him like glue he’s a wonderful grandpa. I think I’ve just found that the sound of a nursing foal is one of the most adorable sounds in the world it’s one of pure contentment and joy.❤️❤️🐎🐎🌟🌟

I had 2 Fresians out of 4 horses. I loved riding them. The other 2 were Arabians. If you can ride them at 2, you'll never fall off.

I went to the doctor, then met a friend from Colorado for lunch, rested then, then went to see my 89yr old cousin who cooked chicken & dumplins!! Then I came home SO tired .. but happy to be feeling better & able to get out!! I have to take it slow because they suspect permanent ling damage (hard time breathing) but the cough & other symptoms are GONE!! One day Rising Star will probably be as big as Sjors,he certainly looks a lot like him. Love how Uniek protects her baby. Had to smile when Uniek was rolling, Rising Star didn't know what she was doing,when she was kicking her legs he ran. Once she got up,he thought the coast is clear now I can drink. 😄 So Peaceful watching them out in the meadow .All the babies are so Beautiful and so are their Mems. Waloubet is also Beautiful.Loved seeing the babies out upon the water!!Thank you Yvonne.

Sjors is such a lovely horse, he looked very relaxed dozing in the sun. And glad to see Waloubet is happily maintaining the grass at the front of the property 😊 Rising Star looked almost shocked at the sight of his mem rolling! Loved his little tail working hard to keep the flies off, especially the manic up-down motion 😂❤️

We all know what a wonderful and special thing it was that Uniek and RS were able to bond - she having lost her foal, and he his mother. But do mares who have lost a foal ever try to “steal” another foal from the herd? Or is this not typical Friesian behaviour?

I see that today you have temps 10-12° C., rainy, windy. It is truly fall! How late in the year can the horses go out to pasture-- or are they already done with pasture for the year? I had hoped to see a more-grown RS "horse around" with RJ, but you must be thinking about sending him home soon, so RS will have to play with colts his age there.

Its kind of interesting that some mammals have teets and udders so far back while other mammals have rows going down their bellies.
species with udders and such usually only have 1 or 2 offspring at a time. Those with rows have whole litters to feed. =) Evolution is neat.
