Dude. Came across your videos and enjoyed them a lot. I'm currently doing a dmd run and I'm in M12 atm.
But I completely agree with your statement that facing Vergil with RG is the holy grail of DMC 3. I refused to use any other style when I fought him in V.hard mode and I died a lot of times. The feeling was great when I finally beat him with RG and got an S rank. Can't wait to face him in DMD.
I had few questions
1. What is the most effective way to practice RG ?
2. Are you able to perfectly get your blocks everytime during judgement cuts ? I find that few times I get all the blocks but many times I get hit by one or two. Anything I'm doing wrong there ?
3. When Vergil does his force edge combo (with his helm breaker + stinger ), I always screw up the block for stinger. Instead after blocking the helm breaker, I double jump and use helm breaker myself which parties his stinger. I found that it also gives a modest boost to the style meter
Anyways, I totally feel ya when you finished this game with ss rank. Your videos have been amazing.

to answer qs:
for practicing RG id just single out whatever enemy I wanted to practice and stand in front of it letting it swing at me til I got things down.I was playing on ps3 so I'd just load up on vital stars and use them whenever I got low from messing up blocks, best solution is probably a trainer with infinite hp for you and the enemy if you're on PC
with judgement cuts i found the first one was usually the only one that mattered, getting the rhythm down wasnt something I had a problem with after a little bit of practice so if I blocked the first one I was usually good to go for the rest (this applies to a lot of things in the game for me but most noticeable with judgement cuts since theyre effectively a metronome)
there's a lot of other cool stuff you can do to play around vergils moveset but i really wanted to focus on royal guard for this. and honestly i've never been that happy about this video other than the fact it was a successful run - always intended to come back some day and do it without abusing dive kicks and blocking the big judgement cuts in the 2nd phase etc
@@ZodiacMustDie yes, although I'm decent with RG on certain enemies and bosses, I need to practice it more with other enemies like the fallen, arachne , etc.
Also, you're right about blocking the first JC to get the rhythm but I typically mess up the 4th or 5th one by pressing too early.
yeah... no, I fucking hate royalguard because my timing is dog shit and for some reason it doesnt block anything correctly even if properly timed.
How do you party those orbs though? At what time do you do it? When do you know when do parry?
just gotta grind it out til you're used to the rhythm. they're the same every time, so its all muscle memory
