The nozzle he ground off is just what's used to create a finer spray pattern (for improved fuel atomization, aka cleaner tailpipe emissions). The injector isnt held together by the nozzle. The exposed Pintle sinply makes the injector like many factory EFI injectors were back in the 80s and 90s. The plastic cap is primarily for keeping carbon deposits from building up on the pintle tip. The injector can function without it. He did a good job and in a later video flow matched them. He did this correctly.

Not impressed and certainly dont trust that rebuilding method, you grind the nozzle off and simply hold it together with the original cap?
