dude, as a cheerleader i am ALWAYS hyping up drumline/band performances. 100% the best part of any event and y’all deserve the spotlight for how much work you put into playing!!
I went to a small school and there was only a couple of people in the band, my first time seeing a big schools band performance was crazy. Some guys from the drum line turned upside down and started playing
I went to an away game the other day and the other bands school was barely cheering for their band so my band took it upon themselves to cheer very loudly for the other band Theres over 150 of us too sooooo
As an ex-high school marching band woodwind, I can tell you that the drumline holds some immaculate vibes. They have such a different and fun presence than the rest of the band, and they can really get people hyped up. Many schools really appreciate their bands, concert or marching, but this school has some serious spirit.
I go here and yep, during cheers everyone SCREAMS as loud as we can, school spirit is high here! We have a month dedicated to dress up days (a special one every single day) thats also a fundraiser and almost everyone dresses up
And I’d bet the middle schoolers CANNOT WAIT to be in band, right! It used to be that way at our HS in the 1970’s- late 1990’s. Then the admins killed it. We won all sorts of national and regional titles. We don’t anymore and the band is 1/3 the size it used to be. 😥😥
one time at my middle school the tubas (whom were annoying) said “jeez, why y’all so loud?” and i had ringing in my ears. they think it’s bad i’m caught in gunfire.
We just replaced our entire bass line along with half the snares and quads, then covid hit and messed up our practice schedules so we are working on getting our skill levels back up so next year is even better at mayo.
Sorry I’m late to this party. I was part of a marching band a long time ago, let’s say 16 to 20 years ago. Our drum line was as just as talented. However, the “show” in this video is more entertaining than what our drum line was. Kudos to the kiddos and directors for making people interested. I love this video and love that people appreciate musicianship and entertainment. It isn’t as easy as it looks.
Yeh at my school the band kids are the really weird people that are just weird there nice and all just plain weird so us as a band are not respected but our drumline which I play quads in is trying to change that
It's fun here, what you see for the drum line here is how we all treat our athletes and other band members. School spirit is like everything at this school
I am a student at this school and let me tell you, of the 4 high schools in rochester MN Mayo has the best school spirit and I gone to John Marshall (mayo's rival), and have watched the catholic school pep rallies, no one does it like mayo here
