    TRUE STORY: The day this game aired, I remember thinking at halftime that the game was over, so I took a nap and had set my alarm so I'd wake up right when the next game was to start. When I woke up and turned on the TV, the very first thing I heard was, "... the greatest comeback in the history of the National Football League." It's nice to finally see what I slept through.

    The greatest comeback in NFL history. Bar none. People just want to say Super Bowl LI because it's the Super Bowl, and it's the Patriots, and it's so very recent. But we have to remember, they had Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick. The Bills didn't have their Hall of Fame Quarterback. I repeat, they did this with a BACKUP QUARTERBACK. At least with the Patriots, Brady and Bellichick had a shot because they were them. But this should not have been even POSSIBLE in the FIRST PLACE.
    Super Bowl LI has the advantage in just stage, and that's it. In every other manner, this comeback has it beat. Super Bowl LI is the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, without a doubt. It's the No. 2 comeback. But The Comeback is The Comeback. You don't get any better than that.

    As a Bills fan living in NJ, I didn't get to see too many games on TV. I remember watching this on an afternoon when my family was putting away our Christmas decorations/tree. It felt like every time I came upstairs with another box of things, the score changed in the second half. Despite getting a warning from my mom, I would watched more and more as the comeback progressed. Ultimately she gave up when she realized the magnitude of the game. This game was certainly a great childhood memory!

    This game cost me a couple of hundred bucks... Not total, but I was in a pool with some buddies where you had to (before the season) pick every game in the NFL with a point value assigned for each game. Yes, every single game BEFORE the season. We were picking week 16 game outcomes in the pre-season (not against the spread, just winners and losers) The playoffs were set up by your selections of the season and match-ups weren't picked, just what teams you had that were "still alive" each round. It came down to me and another guy and all I had to have happen for me to win the whole thing (and the pool) was Houston had to reach the next round of the playoffs. That's it. I was dancing and celebrating at half time - games end, I was as dejected as you can get and I wasn't even an Oilers fan.

    Lose 45-44
    Chiefs 2018 wildcard playoffs
    Up 21-3

    49ers 1957 playoffs

    Falcons up 28-3 supet bowl
    Lose 34-28
    Jets up 30-7 monday night football
    Lose 40-37
    And finally Giants up 31-10
    IN THE FOURTH QUARTER with over 8 MINUTES AND BLOW IT
    38-31
    This is my third time watching the end of the game knowing they were up 35-3
    And its sad
    Teams that blow three possessions in the nfl
    Are the HOW teams
    Kansas city HOW 2013,2018
    Tennessee HOW 1992
    Etc.
    THE HOW TEAMS. LOL

    Jerry Gray had 2 legitimate beefs with Beebe after the onside kick in the 3rd Q. Beebe clearly wasn't down at the 42 and fumbled. Gray recovered. Then on the TD pass a few plays later Beebe was out of bounds on the route.

    • @Unknown-bq9id
      @Unknown-bq9id 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Today, Gray could have just thrown the challenge flag on either of those plays, and either would have gone his way (the latter is more likely to be a successful challenge, IMO)...

    Rabid Bears fan here. Yeah, great comeback by the Bills, but they got 2 BS hometown calls in their favor in the 3rd quarter (i.e. Reed's fumble wasn't called and Beebe did step out of bounds just before he caught that pass for their 2nd TD). And it pisses me off that the Houston Oilers don't exist anymore.

    • @Unknown-bq9id
      @Unknown-bq9id 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This 1992 Oilers team may have been the most sure-fire Super Bowl contender of the Run-N-Shoot era (1990-1993). Had they simply hung on to this win they would've taken care of both Pittsburgh and Miami as Buffalo did and there would have been a monumental Super Bowl vs the young Dallas Cowboys.
    When Bubba McDowell returned the 3rd quarter pick for a TD, the Oilers' radio announcers including legendary coach Bum Phillips sang songs of triumph. It was the highest moment the Oilers and their fans would have until the team was taken away after the 1996 season.
    The first two and half quarters are still ambrosia for us Oilers fans. We will always remember this amazing performance.

    This game was the ultimate exposure of the fatal flaw in the Oilers' Run And Shoot offense. It was completely devoid of any kind of power running game that would have eaten up clock in the second half. When you can only move the ball by throwing it, the clock stops when you aren't completing the passes anymore. This, along with a couple of fortuitous missed calls by the referees, allowed Buffalo to get back into and eventually win the game.
