This game wouldn't have been close if Flutie starts. The Bills defense dominated the Titans offence. I think they would have won by 14 points or more. Ralph Wilson forced Wade to play Johnson after he played good in a meaningless game the week before. Bad decision, I would have told Ralph I'm the coach with all due respect our best chance to win is with Flutie.
@@usmc6004 That is right. Ralph kind of put Wade in a bad spot. Wade did get a ring finally at least. I think the Bills would of won by two or three scores for sure.

Yeah, I thought it was definitve. Look at where Wychek's hand is when he releases it and where the returner is when he catches it, not their bodies. It was a lateral, barely.
@@gordons-alive4940 agreed. This was a touchdown. Coming back to this one, I always thought it was a forward pass, but it was on the line a lateral pass.
Starting at 2:05:16, watch the trajectory of the ball (which is the only thing that counts, not where either of the players' body or feet are): as it travels, the video clearly shows it getting closer to the 25-yard-line. Which means it is traveling BACKWARDS. Not much, but doesn't need to be. As long as it's not traveling forward, it's a lateral. They got the call right. Sorry, Wade
People think it was a forward pass didn't listen to the commentators. They explained it perfectly if just listen what they said and then watch the replays.
Hey MO. Ron the commentators have no clue . It matters where your feet were when you threw the ball not where the ball is . Since when has it mattered where the ball was in a passing situation . Where are the feet ?
@@patrickdesimone8310No, it only matters where the ball goes. according to the NFL rules, a pass is only considered a forward pass if "the ball initially moves forward (to a point nearer the opponent’s goal line) _after_ leaving the passer’s hand(s)" According to Rule 8 Section 1 of the NFL's rulebook. The instant replay shows a irrefutable truth its a freakin lateral. Mythbusters should prove the obvious truth its a lateral so persons will finally give up the damn lie up that it's a forward pass. It's beyond sad
Buffalo Fans....The NFL did a computerized analyst on the lateral pass & it showed the ball went slightly backwards there for the refs got the call right.
The problem with the computer simulation is that it misrepresented where Wycheck was when he threw the ball and how he threw it. It depicted him throwing the ball with his his arm fully extended and perpendicular to his body. It also depicted him as being further up the field than he actually was. The simulation proved nothing because it was incorrect.
Ralph Wilson ordered Rob Johnson to start because Doug Flutie was old and Rob Johnson was young, and he had a vision for Rob Johnson to be the next franchise guy (like Jim Kelly). He didn't care if Flutie gave them a better chance of winning; he wanted Johnson to be their guy.
you dont need ESPN sports science to tell you its a lateral.... it was very very clear that the ball is going backwards... ESPN sports science has no credibility.
Why would you kick an extra point after that play? It was 21-16 Titans... You go for 2-Point conversion and make it a 7 point game. If Buffalo scored on their final kickoff return (Although it was highly unlikely, although so was the Titans) all they had to do was make an extra point and they would've won instead of tying it... Bad coaching decision but also a great play call on the Miracle.
Brian Clark Fair point. Also, you’re right, the Bills should’ve ran a play and then spiked with seconds left. Some things coaches do just flabbergast me. Than again I’m an armchair critic who would decide his time management based off of Madden lol
You are correct. There was no significant advantage to being up 6 vs. 5 and going for 2 might have put them up by 7. I think *everyone* including the coaches and announcers were so stunned that it just didn’t occur to anyone this made no sense.
After Wycheck got the ball to Dyson, the Bills kickoff coverage got scrambled- like a basketball game where a passing sequence leads to a wide open 3-pointer.
Sometimes you have to wait a few years (7 years in this case) to get the ultimate payback. The Buffalo Bills CRUSHED the hearts of this franchise in Jan 1993 coming back from a 35-3 deficit to win and eliminated the Oilers after it was basically an absolute certainty that Houston was gonna win. Fast forward 7 years. The tables got turned in a hard way! Every Buffalo Bills fan felt that EXACT pain that they inflicted 7 years earlier, compliments of the same franchise. It couldn’t be more fitting!
MJP that is the year that crumpler fumblld inside the 10 yard Line... and the Ravens won.. Jeff Fisher is an overrated coach still imo... am I'm a life long Tennessee fan
My thoughts exactly watching the game!! It was 1st down and the clock was stopped. They could have simply taken a knee and spike it with a few seconds left. Game over...
Everyone, this is every NFL game that will be uploaded on TH-cam. Thank you and have a nice day www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000672345/article/nfl-reveals-youtube-upload-game-winners
If Del Greco didn’t choke on his first half field goal attempts to help put them down 9-0 at halftime, the Titans would probably not have needed a touchdown at the end of the game, and instead only needing a field goal to win the game.
Why the HEK would Wade Phillips decide to kick the FG on 2nd Down with :20 seconds left? Could've easily ran the ball up the middle then spiked it with 4 or so seconds left.. smh.. Yes, it would've been 4th down but the Bills had this one in the bag.. Not even a Bills fan, a Packer fan, but still. I didn't understand it then and still to this day don't understand it. Though Buffalo looks like they're going to clinch a playoff spot as I type this..
After revisiting this. I realize Tennessee still had two timeouts and Buffalo had none so they wanted to kick it with the clock stopped. They could've kneed it on 1st and 2nd down causing Tennessee to use both timeouts. Then 3rd down, with no timeouts, I would suggest running around as long as you can, and throwing the ball away. Which is risky. Or, the alternative is kneeing it on 3rd down as well. With the clock running, rush the FG unit out and kick the game winner as time expires. Hoping not to have a bad snap.

YoungMoneyThugz It's not even a debate. It's been definitively proven that it was a lateral.
you dont need ESPN sports science to tell you its a lateral.... it was very very clear that the ball is going backwards... ESPN sports science has no credibility.
This game took place before I was born, so it's cool to finally see the whole thing.
IRONY : Bills return to the playoffs for the first time since 2000, on the road facing an AFC South team
Man, memories. The 1999 postseason was something special.
Bad coaching decision but also a great play call on the Miracle.
it's the 90s. they were a bit behind. you can also ask why would the Bill's kick on 1st and 10 with whole 20 secs left. kneel. spike. fg on last play.
After Wycheck got the ball to Dyson, the Bills kickoff coverage got scrambled- like a basketball game where a passing sequence leads to a wide open 3-pointer.
there are optical illusion tests and then there's this game.
Bills would've won with Flutie starting.
Bill's should have won this game.
Thanks for posting this.
Y'all the realest for this one
seriously NFL I like you guys posting famous games like this. Keep it up!!
And now, the closest they get to a miracle is 10 points
LOL 😂
A great game to watch on the first weekend of training camp.
this game is the reason why jeff fisher managed to keep a job for 17 years after
MJP that is the year that crumpler fumblld inside the 10 yard Line... and the Ravens won.. Jeff Fisher is an overrated coach still imo... am I'm a life long Tennessee fan
Not his fault no one on the Rams has any talent. Wait, actually that is his fault he drafted them. Never mind then
Happy Anniversary Music City Miracle
idiotic bills....could of ran down the clock....kicked the FG
Wade Phillips HC, what do you expect
*could have
I believe it was fourth down
My thoughts exactly watching the game!! It was 1st down and the clock was stopped. They could have simply taken a knee and spike it with a few seconds left. Game over...
I know it's and old comment, but Tennessee had 3 timeouts. (Bills should have forced them though.)
Yall doin the lords work with these full games
Devion Can I get an Amen! Ohhh lawd have mercy Praise JESUS! Amennnnn!!!!
Everyone, this is every NFL game that will be uploaded on TH-cam. Thank you and have a nice day

Thanks!
+MeloGamingYT No problem buddy :)
RIP Frank😢
wait, They didn't go for 2?
Should've ran a quick run play up the middle and then spike the ball with 2-3 seconds left giving them no time left on the clock.
If the bills would've won this game the jaguars would've went to the super bowl
Jeffery Hendrix and then jaguars would of won the super bowl
Derek Lott Oh my god no. The Rams were unreal that year. I could care less about either team, but those Jags were not beating that Rams team.
The grammar of you guys lol
If Del Greco didn’t choke on his first half field goal attempts to help put them down 9-0 at halftime, the Titans would probably not have needed a touchdown at the end of the game, and instead only needing a field goal to win the game.
He probably would've missed.....it was set up for rams to win
As a Raiders fan, it sucks seeing your last post season game. I feel for you guys.
Bills haven't made it in the playoffs since #MusicCityCurse
This was the NFL at it's glory years
The reason buffalo lost is because they gave the Titans to much time!
Yeah 16 seconds was too MUCH
+Ndudi Enwereuzor yeah if it was a 22-15
then the miracle would be a tie with 0:01 for another kick td
+Ndudi Enwereuzor 😂
I mean technically you're correct
Just know that Tennessee would have done the exact same thing if they only left 1 second on the clock. This isn't basketball
Ball didn't go back or forward, it was basically on a straight line. Fair game.
Though Buffalo looks like they're going to clinch a playoff spot as I type this..
rattmausch Phillips always looked like a stunned child on the field.
no price got the 1st down. they had time to kneel, spike, kick it on the last play.
Then 20 almost 21 years later right here in music city Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry are like let’s blow them out 16-42
Upload the game where Odell made that catch.
Your a cowboys fan why would you wanna see Brandon Carr embarrass himself
Odell be overrated.
+Madden Mobile Gods cuz the cowboys won lol
+Nicholas Kemp Lol jokes
+TheElite121 nah he overrated,
Eddie George is underrated IMO
Not really. He won the Heisman. He was a 4 time pro bowler. But when he went to Dallas, he was completely finished.
@@thomasmckenzie4584 dang I don’t even remember saying this
when wade phillips is your coach, you're gonna have a bad time.
just like cam newton
gucci mane clone true
+gucci mane clone what?
Excuse Keenan leave me alone
Faxx
One of the best plays in NFL history.
Definitely a lateral
I'm so happy they put this on TH-cam I thought I could never see it cuz I was born in 2003
Not a forward pass
This right here is how I became a Titans fan.
and thus, children. the bills never made it back to the playoffs ever again. become a jet fan and liberate yourself from such fuckery
noccem not a true fan then
Nah..might as well go full northeast and just ride on that Patriots bandwagon. At least you'll get some joy.
raydeen1 or Giants
Remember the titans never gets old.
Forward Pass Clear As Day lmao
Nah
Its really not. They have actually proved it with some computer program.
Salty ass Bills fan
+GoldenSymbiote they did it on sports science and it was a forward pass...
Swaggy T No they didnt.
I'm a pretty new football fan, probably a since about 2019, and it's crazy seeing this Era of football where everyone is the size of a linebacker
Got a team you follow? Or just like to watch? Particular players maybe?
@@christopherdelacruz9728 I was born and raised in Tennessee so i like the titans but I also like Pittsburgh my uncle was a huge pittsburgh fan
@@christopherdelacruz9728 I do watch alot of games from other teams just out of enjoyment of the game
@@scooterboi1703 if ur from that area, maybe keep an eye on joe burrow, 2 straight years hes had the worse offensive line and consistently performs well, even going to the superbowl
Dude is gonns be special
@@christopherdelacruz9728 I really have a hard time disliking players that have his level of talent even players that routinely beat my titans
Bullshit that was a forward pass
See you may not understand the rule it has nothing to do with where the guy throwing the ball is. The ball was thrown behind even though he may have been behind the guy when it was thrown the ball traveled back.
GoldenSymbiote Nah bro the ball had a forward motion when it was thrown. Look where he caught the ball at, It's over the line. Now look where he threw it at. It's behind the line .
Dude it was not a forward pass. They even made a computer program that proves it.
GoldenSymbiote I'm looking right at it. It's a forward pass
A lot of other people have looked at it too, probably studied it more than you too. It was a lateral.
