Hey Jupiter! What an awesome video. I feel like I say that a lot after I experience one of your films, but when the screen fades to black I am actually filled with awe over what has been shared with me. The power and beauty and humbleness of your words and visuals is so damn inspiring. I did something I never did before with a video on TH-cam. I watched your video traditionally, I watched it with no sound, and then I just listened to it. Each method gave me a new appreciation for the splendor that you shared with us. It was really really amazing. We are so very lucky to have you share this with us Jupiter. I can’t wait for part 3! 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well.
    -Grateful

I really enjoyed this video, I am a official end to ender (as I remember #225) done around 1960! My strongest memories are On Jay peak in a horrendous lightning storm and at the northern end 3 days of rain when the growth at the sides was shoulder high, the trail in those days was not nearly as well. Marked so side trips were not unusual but the journey was never to be forgotten 👍😄🎩

That view of Mansfield from Whiteface was one of my favorite views of the hike.
Honestly camel's hump and Mansfield were the most fun I had the whole time, really nothing much more difficult than the rest of the trail! Although I only had to go up Bolton from the Winooski rather than camel's hump
    Great video as usual!

Well Sir, from the other side of the ocean... i´d like to give it a shot. Been hiking in rainy, mountaineous, so to say "mean" conditions in Spain a lot (mainly Sierra Nevada, Pais Vasco, Asturias and Galicia) When the going gets tough... it´s as real as it gets; most intense... in the sense of beautiful; just beautiful.
Keep it up; Greets from spain...

I was NOBO this summer and Mansfield was one of the best days. So much fun terrain you just don’t see anywhere else. Going down Camels Hump with wet rocks - not so fun.

wait what!? I didn't here that at all. the trails in the east suck hard - theres no mountains (comparably) and the trail makers didn't have the common sense to make switchbacks on steep climbs. Rocks are rocks but the hell with walking all day in the woods waiting in line for a picture at the few lookout spots where you can see more trees a cpl thousand feet below. Compare that to the top of Forrester pass alone an hour before sunset - Im sorry but does the east coast even have hiking? I could walk for weeks without walking through a green tunnel...nope not having it. Cheers

I completed the Vermont Long trail last fall… crossed into Canada with a broken bone in my left foot and a sprained right ankle 🙄 Loved dangling down rock walls to ladders in rain and snow, face to face with a bear, nearly died on Camels Hump… would do it again 😊🇫🇮😊

Yea, people hyped up going up the ladders on mansfield NOBO and as a NH hiker and rock climber I kept waiting for "the scary one" and it was all just fun. Light gear and good shoes (not stiff boots) definitely helps. I was "Lucky" enough to hike it in a drought so I never had to deal with Ver-Mud and only got poured on once.

This is the only kind of hiking I know. I haven’t done any real hiking in the west. I plan on doing some of the Long Trail this summer. I have done small sections in the past. I’ve done some sections in the Whites also. I thought at my age hiking in the west would be too difficult but maybe not after watching others perspectives on east coast hiking.

I have heard similar stories about the LT but since I have spent the last forty-five years hiking the Whites I found the climbs to be generally short. Yes some sections were challenging but it’s a beautiful trail and most of the climbs are short. I still can’t figure out how you get your pack so small, lol my food bag is about as big as your pack, which is saying a lot since all of my gear is UL DCF.

Amateur perspective: It seems as if lotus's calves may be over tight, judging from several points in the video (squatting, walking uphill, walking on flat - heel seems rather high). That might contribute to knee injury, especially if she turns her foot outward to compensate. That's something I've had to work on, walking in zero drop shoes. I have to focus on walking forward through my big toe and not kicking out to the side. Not that the trail won't beat one up anyway.

Great video that I and my hiking parter enjoyed watching together! Very grounded and beautiful, and what an amazing looking hike! Could I ask what shoes Lotus used (if she doesn't mind sharing)? They resemble a pair of topos that I just picked up. Thanks very much for your videos! Happy hiking!

Started section hiking the long trail, 2022 want to hike from route 118 to route 2. Or highway 89 they over lap each other. How many days/nights did that section take u? Especially going over Mansfield I know that will not be easy.

Hey Jupiter, it’s obvious your videos have a lot of a talent behind them and the storytelling is great, but the lack of video stabilization makes them really difficult to enjoy. I would really like to encourage you to explore stabilization options or -if you don’t want to carry the additional equipment- perhaps some alternative ways to film that could provide a more stable image.
