Conjoined Twins: The Aquirre Twins Patient Story

Twins Clarence and Carl Aguirre were born in the Philippines conjoined at the top of the head (vertical craniopagus). In August 2004, the boys were successfully separated in a historic procedure at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore by a team led by James T. Goodrich, MD, a pediatric neurosurgeon and David A. Staffenberg, MD, a plastic surgeon.
