Caravan Across Germany Reveals Catholics' True Opinion on the Synodal Way and Synodality

- In view of the World Synod in October and the possibility of a repetition of disasters such as those experienced on the German Synodal Way, our volunteers launched another campaign to warn the Catholic faithful, especially in Germany.
In less than a week, 719 parishes from 9 dioceses in 385 towns and villages were visited and copies of the manifesto "Holding fast to the Catholic Faith in the midst of the Synodal Storms of 2023-2024 - On the occasion of the Synod of Bishops, an Appeal to the Silent Church" were distributed.
In addition, 9 public rosaries were held in the cities of Stuttgart, Augsburg, Munich, Passau, Regensburg, Eichstätt, Nuremberg, Bamberg, and Würzburg.
The support of the faithful was warm, but as always, the Catholic left and its sympathizers did not fail to show their hatred - nothing "synodal".

While I do applaud your work and witness to the Faith, as a German I do understand those two ladies who complained about the format. They weren’t advocating the Synodal Way (at least in what we see here), but saying that they did not find the gathering prayerful. Which I can very much understand, as this format is very American (bagpipes in Bavaria?) and foreign to the German Catholic tradition. Perhaps that can be incorporated in the future to greater success!

The two ladies in question, like other similar cases throughout the Caravan, used the side criticisms for the lack of a solid and convincing argument on the merits of the issue: the Synodal Way and its Synodality. The proof? 5 minutes of conversation show the real reasons for the opposition: We defend a Catholicism that is "closed in on itself, old-fashioned, clericalist and sexist". The video above is a continuation of a video published a month ago that shows these arguments more clearly.
Regarding the format of the campaigns, I don't agree that it's "very American". What is certain is that it's not "very German". It was thought up by a Brazilian, applied for several decades in different countries, including Europe, became better known for its exceptional campaigns in the United States and is now being implemented in Europe. We are fighting for the common Catholic heritage, which means "Universal". Everything that the Church has created, developed or simply assumed and blessed over the centuries throughout Christendom must be preserved, promoted and eternalised. That's why we're now fighting in Germany too. We are absolutely opposed to the "German way/path" of being "Catholic" (in the meaning that Mgr Bätzing) gives to this expression, which obviously doesn't contradict the true German Catholic tradition - which, if it is Catholic, cannot be against the contribution of other elements that are also part of this Catholic universe.
Bagpipes are a historic European instrument. They are associated with Scotland, not because they were invented there, but because that is one of the few places they were preserved.
