I always look for your videos before I tumble purchased stones. They are a big help to this novice. I still like too tumble yard found rocks too, I like the surprise when their done.THANKS.
Hello RGW, thanks for this video as I have some RTE and needed to know how to polish it. Your finished stones are an inspiration and quite lovely. I'm feeling positive about it. Thanks.
I just started the tumbling hobby. I did a batch of tigers eye and after pre-polish in a vibratory there is grit in the little crevices and I can't get it out so I am unhappy with that and I am going to approach this whole rock tumbling thing differently. Before I even stick them in the rough grit tumble I am going to hand grind out all the little bumps, crevices and cracks using a Dremel lite and diamond bits of various shapes. Right now all my tumblers are full but I am going to do a total do over and start doing it this way from now on.
Hi there I have a question for you. I am tumbling red, blue, and gold tiger eye and I am getting down to the end where I only have a few pieces of each left of red and blue. I have allot of gold can you mix all three of them together? The red has a dark redish brown slurry and the blue slurry is dark to will it stain the gold tiger eye? I have mixed the red and blue just in the first stage and have had no problems. I am in my second week of course grit. But I haven't mixed the gold. And should I Keep the red and blue mixed in the next stages?
It is completely fine to fix them. Most of my batches have some of the other mixed in and it doesn't color or dye them in any way. I hope you've been enjoying tumbling Tiger's Eye! So gorgeous! 👍👍
Thank you for watching! If you have any questions, about tumbling, gemstones, or about anything in the video - please ask below, I will answer!
