I like how close the instruments sounds to the original. I'm only missing the polyphonic part with three melodies at the end. Also, there should be ways to extend how long note blocks sustain their notes :')
Agree on wishing there was a way to sustain the notes. A whole note in my songs is really a staccato quarter note with a 3 quarter notes of rest. Not 100% sure what you mean about the end; but I tend to not focus too much on where to end the songs. In this case though, I think (hope) the unresolved ending will resolve into 'The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood' once I get the entire album completed and combine them together.
Wow, this is amazing I’ve recently been messing around with note blocks but I can never figure out how to incorporate different sounds and instruments and make it sound good. Do you have any tips?
Thanks! Yep, I have a 9 part tutorial series that goes step by step on how I create the songs: th-cam.com/video/3NWwQh-b9I0/w-d-xo.html One thing to note is that I am now using Minecraft 1.19.3 instead of 1.16.5 when I created the tutorial series. I also have plans at some point to make a couple advanced tutorials, which includes things I have figured out since I last created the tutorial series. But the current tutorial series should get you started.
You're welcome! One topic that I can briefly mention that would be in one the advanced tutorials: here are the instrument note blocks I use from lowest voice to highest voice: Oak Planks: String bass - low to mid bass Wool: Guitar - mid to high bass Dirt block: Piano/harp - low to mid treble Clay: Flute - mid to high treble Block of Gold: Bells / Glokenspiel - high to very high treble
this receives the super penguin club seal of approval
Thanks!
This is so underrated, omg!!
