    A man after my own heart... Cooking fajitas in wilderness, it's actually my favourite thing to do... A random dog walker stopped by once looking for his dog who obviously smelled the food, he was quite thrilled to be offered such a thing (apparently his wife's lasagna...not so good)
    If you ever need an extra pair of hands, or someone who knows wilderness fajitas I'll happily come for a visit... When I'm done doing virtually the same thing in Cambodia.
    Need a job like yours when I get back... Know anyone with land needing looked after?

    What cut of meat is your bacon. American bacon is pork belly and is about 1 1/2 inches or 4 cm. Your bacon looks to be looks to 3 to 4 inches wide. Is it made from shoulder cuts??

    • @rosepop8195

      Kyle Murray it's called back bacon its from the end of a pork saddle/ loin

    • @niallkeane3794
      @niallkeane3794 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kyle Murray our bacon is a very different taste if you have not eaten it before ours taste the same as gammon if you've had it if not it is much more meaty and in my opinion England sh bacon is nicer although your bacon is good on pancakes with scrambled eggs 🍳 and maple syrup

      Henry The dog The bacon I eat comes from an animal. I assume American bacon comes from a chemistry lab.

      numbereightyseven That's a bit odd mate cause when I go to the U.S to visit the wife's family the bacon is always massive compared to what I'm served in the U.K or NZ. It's a bit salty but it's very meaty and I wish I could find it here.

      Sean Channie Contact your in-laws and have them send you some. They can cook it and wrap it in paper towels and put in a heavy duty freezer bag. Pack it in a box and send it to you.

    What's the water situation? Could explore the option for a permanent water filter system. Dave Canterbury has made a decent vid a couple years back about using simple materials and debris to filter water before boiling, on a tripod like contraption.

    Get another tarp in DPM and place it over the village like a huge Dome! Then make it where it could be retractable for good weather! Also check the laws on Wild stealth plodding says if you come across a uninhabited shelter and place a pound counage on the floor of said shelter and if it has not been removed in a fort night said wild plodder shall have permission to to squat and inhabit shelter for one lunar cycle! All that law reading made ne tires! I need a coffee on the go!best wishes Chef great video Thanks for all the trouble you do bringing them to us!

    Hello. Very interesting camp and construction. It is obvious that a lot of work has gone into making it. I am curious about the decay rate of your natural materials. Here in Arkansas the heat and humidity causes rot to set-in quickly. I truly admire your camp.

  • @sonofeloah
    @sonofeloah 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Was wondering if you were having to always bring in your water and you answered that one for me. Why not have some sort of gutters for your roof line to gather the water into a barrel or tub? Even if it is only basic filtration, it would be good to drink after boiling and great for cooking. Cut down on the amount of water that needs to be trucked in every time.

      Virginia Bradley English Prehistoric village?!!!...haven't you heard, you can't use modern names for people back then or so the English say. (Even if they are descended from those people). That is why alot Of English People claim the Welsh can't claim King Arthur, because they weren't called Welsh (Britons) back then. Meanwhile they claim he's English. (Which ofcourse doesn't make any sense as he Fought the Saxons (English) as he was a Romano/Briton (Welsh).
      Also, the English (Saxons) weren't in Britain then. They got to Britain in the early 500s AD. Any way, Never mind.

Here in New Jersey USA, it's more like evergreen trees and deciduous trees in groves, pine needles under foot, of course there are fields and scrubs, but not like there. Thanks so much.

      @G1NZOU 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're mostly used in places where walkers often cross, many fields and areas of land have legal rights of way so access must be provided, but some walkers are irresponsible and leave gates open, letting livestock escape, so some landowners put a stile up (basically like two small heavy duty ladders on each side of the fence) to allow easy access for walkers while keeping the land secure for livestock.

    Exactly one second into the video.... and it accurately portrays the descriptions I have heard of the U.K. Torrents and torrents of rain. Do Britons have gills?
    Then another terrifying ride down the left side of the road. That is you! Responsible for atleast one more grey hair, possibly two!
    Sure. It is a one pound note now. Bury it for 500 years then come back for it!
    You didn't bring your Fergus! How can you go and leave Fergus at home?
    You're a man that needs a garden cart or mule (wheel barrow with two wheels) for his village.
    Sweet Jayzuz!............. it's like the village has been swallowed by an enormous blue fungus!
    Contractors leaf bags! The ones lawn maintenance gardeners haul away all the leaf litter in the fall. Those split open to make 2 meter by three meter tarps for water proofing your shelter. Fill them with moss and leaf litter and use them as a mattress or ground insulation. So cheap!
    John, that camp is weeping for a proper saw horse to cut fire wood and timbers.
    Use a camp loom to weave your reeds into mats... then lay the mats on the roof in layers... You can make wakes, curtains, floor mats this way. Example... Primitive technology goes the long hard way with making fiber first..skip in to just the loom part. th-cam.com/video/ey68uVUuyvs/w-d-xo.html
    You can do what he does in thatching too. th-cam.com/video/qEUGOyjewD4/w-d-xo.html
    I would build myself a sawhorse out there at the brush pile the farmer left out for you. If only to trim to a length to drag back to the village. What about building a shelter at the wood pile just to step out of the sun and rain as you harvest from the wood pile? Keep your chainsaw and gas can out of the sun. Another nice reed shelter with head room to stand up in and a table to sharpen your saw's chain.
    Oh! I love some stray cat with Old El Paso fajita mix myself now and again!
    Is there a welding shop that can throw a handle on the wok for you? Maybe one with some holes that you can just carve a handle at camp if you need one and wire it in place as needed? Not that I am not a fan of the welding glove and all. :)
    Is Chef about to crack the code on the breakfast burrito? Will the U.K. ever be the same?
    Speaking of your cool piece of wood.. Find a willow or another tree with long thin branches and braid them in bundles of three and five together live and uncut from the tree. They will grown and fuse that way making some really neat walking sticks, canes, and wooden handles come fall or winter.
    How does one make their own Yorkshire puddings at home? I never seem them in the U.S.
    I am still jealous of your metabolism and time away at these camps!
    Great videos!

    I think for the fire you should make some charcoal in a little thing like go to the store and buy some mints but empty out the mints the tin can let it in the flap you could put wood in there and smoke for wooden get charcoal so it's easy to start a fire

    Next time you want a piece off it find a flat area outside your village and weigh it down to measure what you need. And bring a pair of scissors.
