To take a tyre off a wheel, you need a special tool. The tyre lever is composed of 3 plastic pieces that are used to separate the tyre and rim so that you can then repair a punctured inner tube. It's easy to use, can be tucked neatly into a bag or pocket and, like a repair kit, will get you out of many a sticky situation.

Here's a handy tip from cycling product engineer Marion: remember to deflate the inner tube before using the tyre lever so that you don't pinch it and cause more damage. As you'll see, it's a really easy job to do and you'll have your tyre off the rim in no time at all.
