Hi friends!! One thing I wanted to address as there are some comments about me swatching the foundation on my face: IT'S WRONG, it's unsanitary and I highly suggest you do not do this!! I saw the sticker seal on it had already been broken so I opened it up. It's annoying and people open up new bottles to test things all the time - I get it! I never open up new bottles myself, but I understand the contamination concern and greatly appreciate the kind ladies letting me know. Thanks for making me more aware and please take a lesson from me! Do not swatch new or unopened bottles. They could be contaminated - or you could be doing the contamination! Best to head over to Ulta if you wanted to swatch or purchase a new bottle and return if the color doesn't work out. Love you guys! Thanks for making me better xx

Omg I noticed that too. They have pictures of peoples faces with the supposed color and I thought I just wasn’t seeing right but they look darker and then when I pick out the one supposedly my color it ends up being too light💀🥲

The most accurate way is to not blend it out the foundation on your skin, but to take a black&white selfie...
So if you watch your video in b&w your foundation shade is too light.

I got my foundation matched at Sephora which was fenty beauty and it ended up looking orange because it oxidizes 😭

Hey Christina! Do you have a Fenty shade?
Make sure to go to a window or where there is natural light. I find that targets lighting disguises the undertone of makeup.

What is the best foundation for pinky tone?
My skin tone is weird, my skin tone is a warm neutral with a yellow undertone with a green/ grey cast. ITS SO ANNOYING in sunlight i can look green or yellow and sometimes i get red on my nose forehead and chin. Im like 3 different colors. Help!😢
Hi!! It might help if you pick up an orange corrector and use that to help cancel out any areas that you normally get a green / grey cast before you apply foundation. Lots of tutorials on youtube about color correcting! Hope that’s helpful xx

The only thing bad thing with swatching is I don't know what I'm looking for. I've never done it, and I don't like the idea of spending money on things I'll never use (if it doesn't match)
I'm in this same boat I have been doing makeup since I was 12 im 20 now... and I still don't know what I'm doing as far as foundation and concealer goes... I don't have the money to really buy makeup and definitely not 3 to see what best fits... I'm pretty pale and I think I have cool under tones and I feel like its either too dark or too light 😰😬 Frustrated to the max
No, Target does NOT allow swatches. Viewers, please do not do what Christine does in this video. Please do not open up a bottle of foundation in Target or Walmart and stick your finger in it! It is so irritating to shop for makeup when so many of the items have been opened up and put back on the shelf. Who knows what’s growing inside there? And Christine just contributed to the problem. Taking a tried and true bottle of your own foundation with you to hold up and compare shades is a great tip. Buy it before you try it. Return it if it’s not a good match. Ulta is a great place to shop for drugstore foundations because they have tester bottles available.
Hi!! I absolutely agree. I don’t want to justify what I did because you are right! It’s wrong and should be frowned upon so thank you thank you for pointing it out. The only reason why I did swatch it is because I noticed it had already been opened and swatched previously. But you’re absolutely right.
While it’s a great idea to compare a foundation you already know works for you, I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring your bottle to the store to compare with other bottles. I would look at someone suspiciously if I saw them putting a bottle of foundation in their purse, even if it’s their own foundation bottle. If the store carries the same brand and shade as your foundation, just compare a bottle from the store to the other foundations.

@@lennygenix6677 It’s not profiling. Would you think it was okay if you saw someone put an item in their purse? No matter what race the person is, it would look like shoplifting. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, testers are probably not a good idea right now, but that is the best way to compare shades. If I saw customers opening products in stores, it would gross me out. Lighting in stores aren’t very good. It would be great if all brands offered trial sizes/sample kits.
They would be able to see you take your own foundation out of your bag to begin with. Problem solved.
@@animabella8689 and if people are too paranoid about getting in trouble like i am, i just let them know! i’ve done this because i always forget my shade and don’t bother taking pictures of it. i just show the cashier my (pretty much scraped up lol) bottle of foundation, let them know i’m just comparing shades, and they have no problems. some have even told me they can tell it’s mine because the foundation bottle is quite literally see-through from how much i’ve scraped out of it 😭

That maybelline fit me 220 oxidized to two shade darker. You were actually lighter skin than me. Im suprised your shade is 220 because that's gonna be darker for me.
