ah yes.. missing a stealth attack on a giant target from behind, then getting hit by a crit in return, THIS is baldurs gate 3
wasn't that attack an attack of opportunity as he did it whilst not paying attention as it's autorolled whenever somebody walks around/tries to leave?
@@trololkhil9868 yes
There's not such thing as a "miss" in D&D. It's all contextual - It can mean a miss or just hitting but not doing any damage (aka. not matching or exceeding the armour class)
Attack of oppertunity .... and just how the dice roll man but I understand it gets frustrating as all hell but there is something enjoyable and annoying how ill miss spells with 80 percent chances but then my zombie will crit Ketheric and kill him with a 25 percent chance attack -.-
xcom prepared me for this!
Oh my gosh. I just realized the bard pointing to the spell for the wizard is bardic inspiration.
...This
lol really! I didn't notice it.. (my perception is -8) since I just rarely play the game) Thanks for notice!
I thought it was long jump
No, it's not, it was long jump. There's no bardic inspiration there
although it was indeed the jump spell, the bard still picked it for the wizard, hence technically it was bardic inspiration via the rule of cool
The rogue forgetting to disengage is way too real
I have never used disengage, what does it do? Leave combat? We brute force us through most of the time.
@@murray821It's a bonus action that lets you move away from an enemy without getting an attack of opportunity on you. Usually if you try to move away any enemy in melee range gets a free attack on you.
Forgot to note, bonus action for rogues. Most everyone else disengage is a full action.
@@murray821 allows to move away from an enemy without receiving an attack of opportunity
It prevents attack of opportunity when you try to move away from another creature that you’re already engaged in combat with
Rogue gang, please do yourself a solid and pick up Mobile as soon as you hit level 4
That brief moment where the npc is angry that his comrades health potion was more than twice as effective! Fucking beautiful.
In character too
well spotted, lol. Perception nat 20.
appropriate Aradin energy though
Aragon just doing Aradin things lmao, the one dude of his group that always survives the gate and also the one dude I’m pretty sure no one would really care about if he died lol
"Just an ordinary fight theme, Borislav, no need to go full power on this"
Borislav:
Borislav: Hold my beer 😂😂😂
Borislav: "So what if I: *Act 2 Battle Music?"*
Kirill Pokrovsky in heaven: You did good son, you did good. I am proud of you.
Love this Track sooo much :D
Accurate... but check out BG1 and BG2 OSTs, they are even more incredible compositions! This whole series has such an insane audio/VA/music quality ❤
- How many times did you watch it?
- Yes
The barbarian strength jump at the end was so fucking accurate.
Force jump, darthbarian
All it was missing was the classic Barbarian "HUUUUUUUU"
@@spencereades It was replaced with "Shooting Stars" and he hasn't landed yet.
Jea the jumping barbarian gave me a little D2 flashback xD
Tss the Barbarian we needed since d4 xd @@alexanderfilipiak8738
The barbarian gently sliding to the sky at the end killed me 😂
The way the Tiefling (Zevlor?) turns his head to follow just KILLS ME.
It is funny how similiar it is to Diablo 2 Barbs.
I love how everyone except for the barbarian miss their attacks. The rogue missing a sneak attack from behind is so d&d 🤣🤣
That was my experience the little I played, reckless attack was the only way to consistently hit, which is stupid, normally it's the other way around.
91% chance.......to miss!
@@night1952 go 3 barb just to get that and bear and then go monk and just run around punching people after reckless attack very strong
@@bla0005551 Full barb all the way no multiclass cheese with 2 fighter like every single build ever does, just got the legendary throwing weapon in act 3, and throw stuff, it hits harder than hitting them the regular way anyway
@@night1952no it isn't, you say "fuck your own defense" and get advantage on attacks, but so does the enemy
The jiggle is mesmerizing and disturbing, can't wait for it to be a staple for the next 30 episodes.
If the dwarf somehow multiclasses into bard just so he can cast hypnotic pattern solely by twerking... I will not be surprised.
@@kncotton85that's... that's an OP multiclass right there! capable of mesmerizing even certain 666 hp demons out there
Those cheeks would be right at home in a DOA game.
Rogue getting bonked because of opportunity attack caught me off guard
It caught the rogue off guard too
Me too...multiple times :)
I confess that Astarion has gone down more than a few times because I forgot to activate Disengage before withdrawing him after a failed Sneak Attack. XD
There is an abilty which provides a damage free return without disengaging, you only have to punch out an attack first. Forgot what it's called in English.
@@saschaeggert2148 The "Mobile" feat and the "Fancy Footwork" of the Swashbuckler's rogue archetype do that, in D&D though, not sure what's been implemented, or not, in BG3...
I absolutely love your Diablo and Elden Ring series. But the series you could create with BG3 could be unmatched. Please continue this!
^ This
Was just thinking that. I hope they continue making BG3 videos.
his starcraft series is top
🤣 The sneak attack fail after careful planning, then being KOd for your troubles is so accurate 🤣
Not a single frame wasted. That Bard intro was brilliant
Every next episode becomes more jiggly and jiggly. It is so beautiful.
Glorious dwarven buttcheeks.
Eventually, we're going to get one episode where it's just jiggling. It's going to be like 3 minutes long and have a bunch of audio and jokes going on, but all we see is the jiggle
Sigh.... *unzips*@@cadenmcerlean4920
It's pure art. I love it!
0:26 honestly the initiative sound with this part of the track sounds really chilling and epic
makes me shiver every time.. so good
The visuals too! It all comes together to give life to the song and scene!
BG3 soundtrack is as beautiful as the game itself
GOTY for their soundtrack alone - truly superb!
I loved the music, but I will never forget the moment when the villain started signing in his own fight music. That was when BG3 won GOTY in my heart.
Which track is this? What’s it called?
One of my fav songs from the game. It's "twisted force" on the OST, for those curious.
Was looking for this. Thank you!
Thank you so much
1:31 love the face the guy on the left makes after drinking a potion and only getting 4hp while his buddy gets 10hp. the little details you put in these video truly puts Carbot above all else
Oh nice catch 😂
Ok but Zevlor didn’t have to go that hard when blowing the horn for Rally 😂
Having proficiency with musical instruments and just playing and ending your turn are the best vibes xD so glad they allowed it and it doesnt cost any action :D
I installed a mod that gives "magical" instruments that gives you proficiency with it.
Every single turn, i end each character's turn by playing their instrument on the same song.
Destroying the enemies both Physically/Magically and Musically.
I did it all the time with my bard. It is awesome.
@@AdnanAhmed the best is when you play the instrument and on their turn they attack and miss the bard. It's just like *dodge* "nope, imma keep jamming"
Not having proficiency is EVEN BETTER. Make shadowheart play her jazz flute, and she squeaks and squawks for a whole minute until her next turn. 😂
@@DembaiVT isnt that what jazz is anyways?
Having everything synched to the music takes this whole video to another level. One of your best imo, fantastic work! :)
The guitar strums were genius. However the scream as telling the Wizard what to cast was Mozart level.
I don't even know why the butt-wiggling barbarian is so hilarious to me, but he is 😂
Slappin Jump on his ass. Could not be more perfect.
Its because its synced to the music that does it for me
The song is on a loop in my head and I only want to do the same as the barbarian 😭 it syncs so well!
I listen to this song constantly and when it gets to that part all I think of is the butt shaking
I can't listen to this battle theme without thinking of the barbarian wiggling his butt.
It's both a blessing and a curse.
I genuinely love the timing on the rallying horn in time with the swelling horns in the song, further emphasizing the power of music to inspire and reinvigorate
Outstanding Performance……those damn spell miss kill me every time
Which is a shame - because they're SUPPOSED to be killing their targets; not you.
How could they kill if they miss?
@@Abtheman100 emotional damage
@@sawomirrudzki3217 Fair.
that shit happened to me last night in a coop game, all of my spells where missing, lol
Perfectly encapsulates D&D combat. Bard: just messing around. Rogue: spending way too much time setting up a sneak attack just to whiff. Wizard: Burning through all of their spell slots as fast as possible. Next fight? No, only this fight, then sleep. Barbarian: Being an absolute menace to everyone and everything.
I've replayed this so many times already. It's... beautiful.
Oh wow! I’m loss for words at this masterpiece! Not only did you flawlessly incorporated the well made ost with smooth yet, comedy and relatable actions into a short animation! Glad that it’s also another series of animation, can’t wait for every Weekend🎉
Looks like someone loved the combat music lol Also those misses from the wizard and the after effects of the spells doing more to the enemy is very relatable.
Who needs a Wizard? I have the best spell in the game already. I call it "Karlach, kill."
For me, it's "Lae'zel, kill."
I’m just here to watch the rogue get hard bullied for the first half of the game. Hits too close to home
Weird, after I got rid of Astarion (because fuck that guy), I switched classes into rogue, in part because he was the only one doing any damage.
@@iambicpentakill Fuck that guy indeed. I staked him first chance I got.
how? Astarion is incredibly strong if you choose assasin. His ranged attacks in early are pretty powerful.
@@iambicpentakill How dare you? ...he gets way better.
Melee rogue before subclass specialization and Cloak of Cunning Brume is just pain. With them, the game becomes Skyrim sneak attack simulator.
I can tell i am going to love this series to the very end. Raphaels battle will be jaw dropping..
So epic! I can tell you really loved this game because these videos are almost more badass than meme at this point lol. All of the encounters in this game are SO memorable.. thank you for doing this series, it's gonna be awesome. Just pace yourself and DO IT ALL.. pls :)
The best thing is the game branches so much that he basically has a seemingly infinite amount of material to draw from.
What was the name of the 3rd goblin you killed in that encounter?
1:33 I love that split-second reaction from Aradin when he's like "wait, what ?" when his buddy gets 10HP from the potion whereas he (Aradin) only got 4.
Wyll’s intro made me laugh so much with the stabbing in beat to the song.
This song slaps so much I can't even describe it. It's been my life theme song for 2 months now, I probably listen to it 50 times a day 😅
Love how Wyll made a cameo in the video.
Who?

If you think this is good, listen to Nine Blades.
Using the fight theme as the bard's distraction in the vid was meta. Genius.
I want to see your channel reach 10 mil next year. The quality you give every time is out of this world
I just watched this 3 times in a row with the stupidest grin on my face.
The timing on everything is so satisfying
Soooo.. who else keeps coming back to watch this masterpiece?
This was my favorite episode of... everything actually!
I wish i could upvote more than once!
Looks like the bard is part of the Cello metal band Apocalyptica. Hillarous 😂
gotta say out of all your vids for bg3 in this series this is my fav one. I always keep coming back to this one when I feel down and it somehow cheers me up. Thanks. :)
i cant say how many times i've rewatched this now XD
Loved how everything came together, the added detail of that double take on the health potion high roll was hilarious
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! This one was epic, even by Carbot standards! The bard doing the combat music, the failed sneak attack with reaction counter, and the 100% miss rate, and finishing with the jump over the gate... all perfect. Thank you!
I'll never get over this composition right here. The score for this game is some of the best I've heard in a long time. And I've bought plenty of movie and game scores on itunes lol nothing compares to this one. It's my favorite one.
This series has been a delightful way to relive the game!!!
I love how you always perfectly capture the essence of games and describe the players emotional state
Banjovi is my favorite character! He has the biggest personality
I keep coming back to this video because it's just so good with how satisfying the timing is, I especially love the initiative order
Same!
I'm glad this highlights how incredible the soundtrack is :) LOVE yhis series!!!
one of the things i regulary listen to is the soundtrack of BG3. thanks to your masterpiece, i must always think of the wigglin DURGE butt when i hear this song. so, congratulations for this achievment :D
Those swaying cheeks are all that plays in my head when I hear this now
They’re almost as great as these hams! 🥓 😁
After finally buying the game and playing the battle I can fully appreciate the fine details like Wyll piercing the goblins in the background or propensity of the low level party to miss.
0:38 24-hour repeat compilation is required for this 1 second
zevlor on french horn is what i needed x3
One of my favorite pieces of music in the game and you made it EVEN BETTER! Thank you for making this video!!!
I love this one. My friends and I just play this over and over more than we should lol😁
I finished this game, but i can't stop watching your BG 3 animations, i love em, can't wait for next episodes
the music in this game fucking rocks and just hearing this theme makes me wanna run through a wall
In an age of too much digital everything, this is truly content that is worth watching.
How you keep coming up with these hilarious and fresh ideas is beyond me! :D
I have been watching this channel since starcrafts and I still enjoy his content. His videos are hilarious and always hit the mark
He probably just wrote down what happened to the party, when they got to the grove gate :P
Having 3 playthroughs under my belt, I am sooo looking forward to many epic episodes on this channel.
BG 3 and carbot are made for one another.
This is the best episode of anything this channel has made to date. This is so so so so so good.
thats why you use magic missile whenever possible - despite having miss in its name, it always hits!
It's my nail in the coffin spell, once something is down to 3 hp in act one that's one more turn off the initiative list😝
The sound enhancing and sync to the animation beat is amazing
I keep coming back here just to watch the tiefling play the horn.
SAME WTF
The musical episode we never knew we've always needed.
This has no right being this amazing! You're awesome, and I can't wait to see the rest of this series
Goddammit guys, the soundtrack part with the animation got me laughing out loud out of pure appreciation of the work done there. It is PERFECT. For real.
This is honestly in my top 3 carbot videos!!! Good jobs guys!!! 👏😭
favorite joke was the annoyed look from the guy who drinks a health potion but only gained +5 while his friend drinks the same potion and gets +10. it happened so fast i had to rewind, ha
The barbarian is the best character in these 🤣😂 those booty meats jigglin were killing me 😂🤣
I can't even fully express how much I've been blown away by your creativity. I've watched this clip twenty times! It's just so moving, it brought me to tears! Thank you!
I got through the first two videos, but after that, I felt compelled to become a backer on Patreon)
The Rogue missing their sneak attack and then getting bonked on the head by attack of opportunity. 🤣
00:01 Our intrepid heroes come across the first sign of civilization! Unfortunately said sign of civilization is currently besieged by goblins and two humans have been caught outside of the walls. This will be the first big battle outside of the nautiloid.
00:09 This game has a nice soundtrack that suits the atmosphere well. This particular song is called 'Twisted Force' and is one of the standard battle tracks.
00:27 Initiative has been rolled! These pictures show up at the top of the screen during battles to show the order in which characters move and to who they belong: blue is your own party, green are allies, yellow are neutral to you, red are your enemies and purple means they are your multiplayer buddies.
00:33 Bards can inspire their party members, giving them an extra die they can throw during a check to increase their chance of rolling high and succeeding their check. In this case the Bard 'inspires' the wizard to pick a certain spell...
00:37 The Barbarian is back to jumping and the wizard casts Enhanced Jump on him. The BarBar takes full advantage of it and launches himself at the enemy.
00:48 Also, meet Wyll, another companion you can get. He is a warlock, a magic caster who cannot cast as much magic as a wizard, but who can cast more powerful spells to counter that. He also knows how to use a sword, so he's pretty useful.
00:54 You can actually play your instrument during the fight if you have one! It doesn't do much, but it does add to the atmosphere.
01:03 The rogue's special skill in battle is the Sneak Attack. Now you don't necessarily have to sneak around to do a sneak attack, you can sneak attack anyone who you have advantage on or who isn't paying attention to you. However, sneaking behind someone to Sneak Attack them is a totally legit tactic to do... if you hit your target, that is~
01:12 And for the last time: Do not turn your back on your enemies! They will be able to get an attack off!
01:14 The dude blowing the horn in support is Zevlor, a tiefling who leads a bunch of refugees who are currently camping inside of the walls. Other than blowing his horn, he shoots goblins with his crossbow. Neat.
01:20 There are many kinds of magic in the game, that have a wide variety of uses. Most spells use spell slots, but there are also spells that don't cost anything other than an action, called cantrips. The higher level you are, the more spells you can use, and the more powerful they become. You can also cast your spell with a higher level spell slot than usual, which usually allows you to deal more damage or put more effects on targets with said spell. In this case, it looks like the wizard used, apart from the Jumping spell he cast earlier: Ice Knife, a level 1 spell that shoots a shard of ice at someone, doing damage and leaving the ground icy and slippery, Firebolt, a cantrip that just shoots a bit of fire at one enemy, doing damage, and Witch Bolt, a level 1 spell that shocks an opponent and allows a wizard to shock the opponent again if circumstances allow it.
01:27 Of course you do need to hit your opponents if you want to actually do damage... adventuring is easy they said~
01:31 Pretty much everything in this game is decided by dice rolls... and that includes healing! Do not be surprised to see someone heal for 4 damage, and the other guy gaining double that healing from drinking the same potion. If you feel like this is dumb, it kinda is, but just see it as a way to pretend certain injuries are worse than others, and not every wound will heal the same.
01:35 So what do you get when you give a strong character with lots of leg muscles a boost in its jumping abilities? Well... apparently we can now jump over walls. This will probably be the last time I'll say it, but jumping in Baldur's Gate is ridiculous, in the best possible way. Also, note the areas where fire and ice are still left after spells hit the ground? They 100% influence the character standing on them. Don't walk on ice or through burning grass, or through a pool of acid or electrified water now that I think of it. If it's stupid in real life, it's stupid in BG3, until you get abilities that suddenly make it a lot less stupid.
This is beyond excellent. Made my day. Thanks once again!
The best part of these is that it just an animation of your play session. Love it!
one of the best episodes so far!!! every detail is on point! soo good and reliable
I’m glad I’m not the only one that was enjoying this battle music and the guitar rift makes it much more better.
The music in this game truly is God-tier
1:33 LMAOOO the look he has when his homies potion heals 2.5 times more than his like “bro tf wrong with mine?”
Words can't express how great this is.
The rouge may not have a lot of attacks, but when that sneak attack actually hits at high levels, it does a crap ton of damage. And the bonus action hide/disengage/stealth makes them one of the most mobile class
Bard is essential for entertainment during fights ❤
Not just entertainment. Guards throwing gold at you while the rest of the party is orchestrating a prison break is priceless.
Or adding some smokepowder pyrotechnics to a concert for your not-yet-entirely-enemies.
This guy is always on point with his sense of humor and never rolls 1. I'm always excited to see new videos.
We all know the animation and comedy is top notch, but the use of the soundtrack with the Bard is just inspired. Larian knows quality and supports it so it does not surprise me they sponsor you. Seriously funny shit.
I’m excited for 5 years from now when these songs bring back memories of this fun time of playing this game for the first times.
Zevlor horn section ws amazing
10-30 is pure perfection, giving the bard the battle theme song as his own spectacular performence and adding all the visuals to him being a god damned rock star in the middle of this hard and insane super early battle was a genius move on this clip part, i watched the other parts but this is the single most badass moment to me.
If we one day get to the House of Hope, I sincerely pray that you bring back the band.
This is, by far, the best episode in this playlist
I seriously hope the composer saw this its amazing.
The best clip you ever done.
Watched it 10 times in a row
I can’t stop seeing this skit in my head now every time I hear the song in game. 🤣
