This was Dimash's first performance on the annual Chinese TV singing show known as "The Singer", a four month competition for experienced singers which is broadcast into 600 million Chinese homes. He was the only non-Chinese invited to the show. The audience are music and vocal coaches and are also the judges. You're right that he can sing any and all genres, including rap. He's absolutely amazing! If it wasn't for the pandemic he surely would be better known in the U.S. He has just done a solo concert in N.Y. at the end of 2019 which attracted 19,000 from around the world. I'm sure he would've done a few more in that two years, in addition to other things. But one thing he has working against him is that he wants to be in complete charge of his music and not have some American record producer telling him what kind of music to sing. He's a very determined young man who's been studying music since 5 yrs old. He's extremely loved by his fan base because he's more than an unbelievable singer. People get annoyed with pausing in my experience mostly because the reactors also aren’t going back to resettle into the song. Pausing is absolutely better than talking over a phenom like Dimash. Either way if you just go back a little whenever you resume, most people are great with that. You really have only seen a small fraction of what he can do with just this song. No lie

He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. Stranger from New Wave is better for their first watch IMO. Music wise, awesome stage production, it shows how wonderful the song is in itself. The Chinese version had very beautiful parts too, but it's not so complete as a song and performance.

Considering that Dimash is the most popular singer in Asia, and Asia has over 60% of the worlds population, you can safely say that he is the most popular singer in the world, not to mention the best. He does have a video where he raps, he also does metal, rock, blues, straight lyrical opera, and his own ethnic music among others.
His current range is just over 7 octaves - even going a note or two beyond the piano. He sings in 13 languages while speaking 4. He's from Kazakhstan. He plays 7 or 8 instruments. All of that is amazing, but the core of his gift is harder to define. It's as if he sings with his whole being, body & soul, & it touches us deeply. He's also amazingly humble & kind. Since this time he has sang this song different times including 2021 and also you could see 2019 in which you will see is diction in French to perfection. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! This was Dimash's first performance on the annual Chinese TV singing show known as "The Singer", a four month competition for experienced singers which is broadcast into 600 million Chinese homes. He was the only non-Chinese invited to the show. The audience are music and vocal coaches and are also the judges. After each round, the judges vote and rank the performances of all of the contestants. After this performance, Dimash had to have bodyguards for the first time. He has a 7 octave range and can sing in any genre in about eight different languages. He is fluent in Kazakh and Russian, and is getting better in English and Chinese. Every performance is different (and he now has hundreds) and he never ceases to amaze! He is also working on his Ph.D. in Musicology. You'll discover that he loves his family, his country, and his fans which he calls "Dears". I stumbled across Dimash almost two years ago when I started watching reaction videos during the Pandemic furlough. I'm 71 years old and have never seen or heard anyone as good as Dimash! You're right that he can sing any and all genres, including rap. He's absolutely amazing! If it wasn't for the pandemic he surely would be better known in the U.S. He has just done a solo concert in N.Y. at the end of 2019 which attracted 19,000 from around the world. I'm sure he would've done a few more in that two years, in addition to other things. But one thing he has working against him is that he wants to be in complete charge of his music and not have some American record producer telling him what kind of music to sing. He's a very determined young man who's been studying music since 5 yrs old. He's extremely loved by his fan base because he's more than an unbelievable singer. People get annoyed with pausing in my experience mostly because the reactors also aren’t going back to resettle into the song. Pausing is absolutely better than talking over a phenom like Dimash. Either way if you just go back a little whenever you resume, most people are great with that. You really have only seen a small fraction of what he can do with just this song. No lie

This young lady has a voice, but more than that she can access you emotions and take you where most other singers cannot. The Singer , it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 27 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He is about to start his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. Stranger from New Wave is better for their first watch IMO. Music wise, awesome stage production, it shows how wonderful the song is in itself. The Chinese version had very beautiful parts too, but it's not so complete as a song and performance.

Considering that Dimash is the most popular singer in Asia, and Asia has over 60% of the worlds population, you can safely say that he is the most popular singer in the world, not to mention the best. He does have a video where he raps, he also does metal, rock, blues, straight lyrical opera, and his own ethnic music among others.
His current range is just over 7 octaves - even going a note or two beyond the piano. He sings in 13 languages while speaking 4. He's from Kazakhstan. He plays 7 or 8 instruments. All of that is amazing, but the core of his gift is harder to define. It's as if he sings with his whole being, body & soul, & it touches us deeply.

Note - I dont know if its unintentional from your side while edited or you found the video elsewhere and not from the Dimash official channel, but I can hear it is edited to [-1 or -2] in tempo\tonality\speed in audio workstation. The original is faster in music composition and Dimash voice is a bit higher. Just choose songs from youtube official channel or official TV program where Dimash performed on, for future reactions.

In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old) and the first non-Chinese. Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned Chinese hydroglyphs: Di - achievement Ma - precious stone Shi - dream, wish.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian.
First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China.
As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

Greetings from Australia, there is about 5 versions of SOS 2021 is great, he has a 7 to 8 octave voice. He's contemporary and classically trained. He appeared on an American TV singing show, but left so some younger kids could have a chance. Dimash is a very humble young man, and has been singing for 22 years. Sings in 12 different languages and plays 12 different instruments. He was offered to sing with a Kazakhstan opera, but chose to pave his own style He call popera. His highest note is a D8, that version of SOS that you listened to was from a Chinese singing contest where Dimash was a Wildcard. He would have been about 22 or 23 at the time, and learnt the song phonetically. So that's why his diction of the song seemed incorrect, but listen to his one at the Slavic Bizarre it'll rock your world. Keep up the good work
