@chrisparc 2 possible reasons. The metals we export are not columns that build heavy structures; we export steel structures. Which means our metal factories probably dont have the machines to build them, and would have to buy those machines which costs a lot of money, which would jack up the price for each column. 2nd reason, we probably exported all the metals to China and Japan Lol.

An arena is used for a lot of things. Take for example the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the Lakers play, this is used for sporting events, concerts, and other various events. This means more jobs for Filipinos. By the way, I used to be catholic, and I was once a member of INC, so I know both sides. I won't get into it because that's not the reason why I'm replying. I just thought I'd throw that in there to let you know that I am not bias.

Religion or not, the group of people that funded this project picked the right people to build it to make sure that it stays up for many years to come, and help ensure the safety of the people when inside the structure. Because it will be used for more than just sports, it is considered to be an arena, not a stadium. There are much larger "Covered Stadiums" than there are "Indoor Arenas" The Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000 for example.
