He pulled out of several international agreements and overall conducted himself in a very unpresedential matter: Trying to kiss chancellor Merkel, arriving late at his visit with the Queen etc. He was liked in China and Russia because they knew he was an incompetent leader and so was easier to control.

2) The staircase issue occurred due to a malfunction of equipment inspected and approved by our secret service. China offered an alternative, but the secret service declined the offer, as it had not been inspected. The conspiracy minded crowd would better accommodate reality by instead claiming that our secret service deliberately instigated the failure to show disrespect for Obama.
China did not try to denigrate Obama. Conversely, Obama did not press for the level of pomp and attention that Trump demands.
But for those who adulate Trump, think 'Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). Its value to the U.S. was debatable. However, Trump's cancellation of the TPP was clearly a boon to China. China can be grateful to Trump for cancelling the TPP.
