For breaking elastics- seam rippers (used for sewing) are great!!! It's way less painful and better than pulling. And it's easier than nail clippers! You can find them in any craft store or at the fabric section of Walmart :)

What if your hair has started matting after having them in for about a month? How would you brush it out safely?

Maybe rub in conditioner and then comb it with the conditioner in?

I had a pro braid my hair and she did a weird blanket stitch, it was so tight and I just took out my dreads and I had so much hair fall out. My hair felt thinner, so maybe ask her next time for a looser normal braid? What do you think??

Why do you need to take them out and re do them every 4-8 weeks?

I don’t want permanent dreads so I take them out and redo them so they don’t turn to real dreads :)

I need help!! Have you ever encountered mold???? My gf took hers out and was losing chunks of hair because of mold! I had her check mine today she said looks like little mold spores are starting to form! Do you have any advice? Mine have only been in a month maybe 5 weeks? I always let them dry, at least I thought so!

MOLD?? Do you have our dreads? I have NEVER had this happen. Especially with synthetic dreadlocks!

I’ve been told it’s bc your don’t blow dry them til they are completely dry. Or you get dread rot.

Hey I really want to get synthetic dreads but I once had braids done (not by a professionel) and more than half of my hair fell out it wasn't normal anymore so I'am very scared to do it. Do think this might had happen because she didn't do it properly or anything? Would be soo nice if you could answer because I want to get them soooo bad 😍😭

Hi! BoxBraids can sometimes pull out excess hair if they are too tight!
Our dreadlocks are considered a protective hairstyle and help your hair to grow, keep in mind naturally we loose between 60-100 strands of hair per day, so if you are keeping our dreadlocks in for 2 months mathematically that’s a lot of hair!
But it’s natural! We just don’t realize it because when our hair falls during the day we don’t see it!

I had that too unfortunately. with me it was because it was braided waaaay too tight.

Depends on what type of braids.. certain braids will make your hair fall out… seriously
