    Hi Normie, interesting “way of life” scenario. If the time comes for cataract surgery, I can only say, don’t be fazed and go for it. I had both eyes done separately a few weeks apart, twelve months ago. No pain, no bad sensations of seeing shadowy figures above you. Never even needed a headache tablet. Good luck staying out there for many years to come dude.

      Thanks dude.
      Not shy of getting surgery but specialist says it won't help much.
      My macular has stated to degrade but.....I am hoping with diet and some natural tablets he recommended to pull it up...or even reverse it.
      Thanks for the comment.

      @@MotorSailingforOldDudes My mother has Macular degeneration in one of her eyes and she has to have needles in the eye every 2-3 months to treat it. Its awful. I really hope the carnivore diet works for you in treating it. I will be watching your videos to see how it goes. Good luck! Oww I have heard that wearing sunglasses alot helps to avoid Macular, but maybe its too late now.

    Nice job sir! I’ve been BBBE since December last year, and so far I’m two pounds away from hitting the 50 lb mark lost during this journey! My wife does Keto more like you, a Ketovore diet, which has worked wonders for both our health! Stay strong, keep going! I’m 113 days carnie, and loving life! Cheers M8! 🇺🇸

    Did your diet about 15 years ago and I went from 125Kg to 85. Sadly I've wandered off and back to were I started. I LOVE BREAD! You inspire me to get back on it. You sail the seas and I sail the land full-time in my home built motor home. What an adventure.

    Hi Norm good to see I'm not the only one watching the carbs mate. I've lost 9kg just by cutting out alcohol, potatoes chocolate biscuits and cakes. Also cut back on the black coffee and increased the water intake and fresh fruit and yoghurt. Cheers Michael

    Hi again, Norm. Thanks for sharing your Carnivore lifestyle change and the wonderful benefits you are experiencing! I was diagnosed with an eye condition called Fuch's Dystrophy which is quite challenging, and am hoping to reverse it with carnivore as well. I found the eye doctor's videos on TH-cam. I think her channel is called TheCarnivoreDoctor. I like watching Dr. Anthony Chaffe, also. He is a neurosurgeon. I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind. In choosing a barbie for the boat, what things should I consider? Also, I love prawns as well and they do get pricey to purchase. I also get tremendous headaches from the sodium tripolyphosphate and sodium bisulfite they are treated with. So I keep wondering if there is a way to catch enough shrimp for myself from a sailboat. That would eliminate the chemicals. I also like snow crab legs. For prawn sauce, I use mayonnaise, a tiny bit of ketchup, and horseradish, or I just either heat them or dip them in melted butter. In my world, life's just better with butter. Wishing you fair winds and great steaks!💨⛵🥩

      Thanks dude.
      Yeah unfortunately the prawns are dipped as soon as they leave the sorting table on the trawlers.
      We catch them here with a cast net when they're running and the taste better. Some states don't allow that practise though.
      My BBQ is a Galley Mate, all stainless, great unit. Getting a lot of use now.
      Hope carnivore helps with you eye problem.
      Cheers dude.

    Carnivores awesome but I also had to add fruit because all that protein binds you up on the inside ! We’re in the Philippines soon I think I’ll look to buy a sailboat. Don’t know anything about it further than a Hobie cat, but with WW3 looming I may want to sail to Fiji. I can ballast with a ton of coconuts and Enfamil. Any suggestions or do I have it all covered lol.😀🌴🌴🍺🍺 PS I’m a Missouri Deer Hunter hillbilly

    Norm keep the daily protein up (doesn't have to be meat etc) this is true for all types of daily eating - Everybody should always put daily protein first, you want to lose fat not lean muscle - you seem to finding your lane in the low carb area which is great - excess carbs/ sugars / processed seed oils and foods are what has cause the obesity and poor health today - you have knowledge you have power you understand glasshopper (apologies to Kung Fu )

    How on earth do you conclude that saturated fat is good for you?
    I think unfortunately you have fallen for google extremism. Non extreemist health professionals warn of the dangers of this type of ‘life style’. I’m glad you have had some benefit from your version of this diet, but any healthy diet most likely would have had the same result. Let’s see if you are still doing it in 6 months time.

    • @MotorSailingforOldDudes
      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Maybe...maybe not.
      Have we been sold the wrong diet for years?
      Lots of anecdotal evidence of people being carnivore for a decade or more and still fit and healthy.
      I am so relieved to be free of debilitating pain and getting off steroids.
      Would rather live a shorter time on this diet than longer with the pain.
      6 months. No problem.

    • @drjasper100
      @drjasper100 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the clue is in ‘anecdotal evidence’! I’ll put my confidence in health professional advice.
      However, it’s worth following up with a GP or a dietician, what specific it is that is reducing your pain. That’s definitely worth following up.

    • @MotorSailingforOldDudes
      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @drjasper100 Well I think ill just listen to my body. The only thing Dr. seems to do is prescribe drugs and I'm not saying that some of my Prescriptions don't help.
      But to get off the steroids and be pain free is life changing. I feel ten years younger and I guess the weight loss may be part of that. There is a load of that anecdotal evidence online. Could it be better than a trial?
      From what I've read, studies on fat causing heart problems only 1.2 % risk.
      Probably a bigger risk of getting hit by a bus.
