Abhilasha took an amazing journey to her ancestral place in
Dholpur, Rajasthan. She went there for the first time. The exciting part was that she and her family had never seen the place and did not know anything about it. It was an uphill task to find the ancestral home without an address but after long perseverance it was worth the effort.
This video is extremely personal and emotional for many reasons. You will find out while watching it.
We also saw Machkund, Dholpur Palace and the Rajniwas palace, home of the royal family. Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje belongs to this royal family.

अभिलाषा के पूर्वज राजस्थान केे धौलपुर के थे। अभिलाषा का जन्म और उसकी पढ़ाई लिखाई सब कुछ जयपुर में हुई थी। वो बचपन से लेकर अब तक अपने पुश्तैनी शहर कभी नहीं गई थी। जब उसे पहली बार अपने पुश्तैनी गांव जाने का मन बनाया तो मन में कई सवाल था। लेकिन दिक्कत ये थी कि उसके अपने पुश्तैनी घर का न कोई पता था, न कोई खास पहचान। सिर्फ दादा-परदादाओं का नाम पता था। उसके साथ उसके पिता शिव सिंह चौधरी भी साथ गए। उनका जन्म धौलपुर में ही हुआ था। लेकिन जब वो करीब सात साल के थे तब उन्होंने गांव छोड़ दिया था। अब वो बासठ साल के हैं। यानि कि पचपन साल पहले उन्होनें अपना गांव छोड़ा था। उनके पास सिर्फ कुछ धुंधली यादें थी। उनकी याद्दाश्त के आधार पर हम निकल पड़े पुश्तैनी आशियाना खोजने।
इस पूरी घटना को वीडियो में कैद करने की कोशिश की गई है। हमारे लिए ये बहुत भावुक क्षण था। अपना इतिहास, अपना वजूद और अपनी पहचान हर शख्स के लिए महत्वपूर्ण होती है। भले ही ये कहानी मेरी हो लेकिन जो भी ये वीडियो देखेगा वो महसूस करेगा कि ये कहानी हम सबकी है।

My grandmother once told me that she married there and the Raja of Dholpur gifted a gold necklace to her and a gold ring to my grandfather on their wedding. I also searched and found my mother's birthplace at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, where she has spent the first eight years of her life. It was a herculean task to locate the house as the name of the road, landmarks got changed and our visit was also after more than fifty years. Your vlog really recapitulated my memories of searching the house in Jhansi. The feeling was really different.
