Madam i have few questions about switzerland.1. where i will get Swiss Franc in india before traveling to switzerland- Any SBI foreign exchange branch or any foreign exchange dealer ? or i have to buy euro in india & exchange that at zurich airport. & 2. is "visa" or "mastercard" prepaid card loaded with swiss franc available at zurich airport or in india ? so i can buy online railway ticket or do seat reservation by usuing sbb mobile app.

They are using that handpump because their ground level is at a higher level or there can be reservoir(man made) below the pump which can get water supply from near by municipality which means less pressure ratio is required to pump the ground water which can easily be done by screw type hand pump.But India especially in arid region and also in most parts of India ,ground level is lower so we require reciprocating hand pump which can generate more pressure ratio to lift water from lower ground level point.
Engineering complexity depends on situation ,money,ergonomics etc.
Reciprocating type hand pump is more rugged than screw type hand pump so less maintenance for reciprocating type hand pump.
Probably I have cleared your misconception about why Indians user reciprocating hand pump not rotary .
