A truly great band. A desert island band. They have everything you could possibly need - 2 great singers, 2 great guitarists, a sax, flute, keyboard player, a massive rhythm section, a library of excellent songs with astonishing variety from blues to rock to American to Mexican. Fast or slow, loud or soft, this is THE band.
Have seen these guys ten times now (since the early 90s) - most recently at the Zoo Bar (blues) street festival in Lincoln, NE in July 2018. Without a doubt THE greatest Latino garage rock'n'roll band in the world!! Like one of my other favorite under-the-radar but stellar-musicianship bands Little Feat, I'll always look at the here-today/gone-tomorrow MEDIOCRE-at-best 'superstars' and wonder why in the H*LL these guys aren't selling out STADIUMS!! Viva La Los Lobos!
David Hidalgo is one of the Greatest guitarist's alive right now. i had him right up there with vintage Peter Green, Davids phrasing & tone reminds me of P. Greens early BB and Fleetwood Mac. Cesar is good too, but David and a Telecaster is Ear Heaven.
Wow, what an encore. When you can cover Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl" arguably better than he can, then morph into "My Generation" where an insanely good drummer channels his inner Keith Moon, followed by La Bamba with an ode to the Rascal's "Good Lovin'", this just proves what most already know. . .Los Lobos rules !
That drummer is Cougar Estrada, and I'm blessed to have him play drums and percussion on five of my songs!! I love these guys so much. Their music totally influenced mine.
what a silly thing to say...techs (like Rick Deputy and Tony Zamora in this video) often walk onstage to help with gear and relay necessary info to the performers onstage. and BTW this was 'filmed' by someone with a fixed camera on a tripod at the soundboard, it's very likely that Rick and Tony were completely unaware that there was video rolling (and that it would be posted on the internet for you to critique nearly 20 years later). this crew works hard as hell to make this band sound as good as they do...if you respect Los Lobos respect their employees (who are also their close friends) as well. basically shut the fuck up and stop acting like you know shit and enjoy the show like everybody else i guess
@@JABFELA It became ok when they soundguys can hear eminent buzzing, crackle, and other ailments amplified at huge volumes or more discretely through headphones that the performers may or may not hear through monitors amps etc. that the backline/tech/audio crew is trying to fix between songs like maybe asking them to jiggle/change cables etc.

I prefer Cesar on a Strat, but that's just me. David is amazing, but Cesar has some kind of deep soul going on.
Damned right they got the blues.
The best Band in the World. They gave me so much fun for many years. RocknRoll was born in East LA.
Thanks for posting!! This band has rocked since 1984! And they continue to!

Just saw them the other night, and it's 2021.
@HollyBluePlanet Their 50 years tour is going strong. Tickets were on sale for a Capistrano New Year.

Cougar is so great on drums!
He's my favorite era of theirs. I like Cougar so much, I paid him to play on five of my songs.

クーガ・エストラーダいいけどな、いまは3人目のドラマー、なぜ?
when did it become okay for roadies to walk on & off stage during a concert? It's like they just wanna be in the film. Not cool
