If so, then presumably the absolute immunity granted to presidents for presidential actions by the Supreme Court can be also extended to a president's personal acts where they violate federal law (the presidential pardon power does not reach to state crimes). The Supreme Court has opened the door to this possibility; not only would a president have absolute immunity for presidential actions, but also freedom from consequences for many personal actions. On taking office, a president could give himself or herself a blanket pardon presumptively; no need to be tried and then self pardoned, they'd simply be untouchable except for state crimes.
