I'm really excited for all the 'Disco elysium successors'. Even tho they're not really a continuation of the story and they're probably not coming until some time has passed, i really hope someone makes a similar game to disco elysium that it's actually good
I've played through Disco Elysium 3 times now and honestly just the very world and vibe they have created felt so fresh and unique, I don't particularly care for DE gameplay personally, my favorite game type is Immersive Sim (Deus Ex/Thief/Dishonored/Prey etc.) but I really want to see more fresh world ideas like Disco has in games in general. As weird as it might sound, I've actually spend a very long time using Mods for Fallout 4 to give it this hybrid vibe/atmosphere between Disco Elysium and Half-Life 2 (not in terms of gameplay ofc but in terms of overhauling the world design, the audio etc.) just to have an open world with impecable vibes to wander through. That build has become unplayable thanks to Bethesda releasing a completly unnecessary and game-breaking update though.
@DutchThriceman If you like DE i advice you to read the book it's based on, Sacred and terrible air. It's a completely different story but with the same worldbuilding and aesthetic
How have I never heard of Wreckage before!? Fumes is cool, but I prefer the aiming style of Twisted Metal and what Wreckage appears to be going for. I don't know if this counts, but the PS5 version of Easy Red 2. I have the game on Switch and like it, but man that frame rate and reduced bot count. The game is exactly what I wanted after Star Wars Battlefront 2 2017 disappointed me and since Battlefield stopped having bots (2042 is online only, it doesn't count). The new Darksiders could be cool. They haven't shown any gameplay yet, but I hope it goes back to the gameplay of the first two. We haven't had a good old school style God of War games in years. Speaking of God of War clones, Captain Blood looks like a fun gory GOW clone. Wreckfest 2, I loved Wreckfest and the fact that this game will support split screen is a selling point for me. The Croc remaster, I have never played the original but it looks fun and cute. I would have included Epic Mickey Rebrushed but I didn't notice that it's already out. If you have never heard of Epic Mickey, it's an action platformer by Warren Spector. Yes, that Warren Spector. This one is rumoured, but according to the voice actor of Sweet Tooth/Needles Kane from TM Black, he had heard that Sony is working on a bundle containing TM 2, Black and Head On.
Bloodlines 2 died the moment they decided on a set, voiced character. The magic of that game was all the ways that you, a clueless newborn pawn, could end up taking the board for yourself. Plus the two clans who served as challenge runs- not being able to be seen by humans at all, or 90% of your dialogue choices being insane ramblings. Plus the dark comedy vibes- the tv and radio stations being like GTA radio people, Officer Chunk, Fat Larry, the (admittedly incredibly racist) Chinese gun shop owner-the soul of that game was forged from pure 00s edgelord jackassery that I don't see in any of the previews. As for my personal watchlist: STALKER 2, Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and I'm cautiously optimistic for Avowed. I really don't like how, in the transition to an action game, they gutted the cooler classes from Pillars (Monk and Cipher would be ESPECIALLY fun in an action game but they don't show up at all??). That being said, the vertical slice they showed off at one of the recent gaming conventions looked pretty good, so I'll give them a chance to prove me wrong. Farther in the future, really looking forward to the third Respawn Jedi game, they're the only great star wars productions we've gotten since Rogue One and goddammit, I'm not ready to give up space wizards and laser spitfire dogfights just yet. Also heard rumors of a dedicated Star Wars xcom-like tactical rpg- that'll kick ass if they somehow don't fuck it up.
This might be weird but search youtube for: Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption Reawakened ... it's a crazy project but one with real passion behind it. It'll take some time before we can play anything but they recently announced their going to sort of go off and essentially create their own VTM game at this point.
I have hope for Judas, sounds like a lot of systems to juggle for that game to pull it off. The positivity is much welcome when every other cod player with a mic is saying "modern gaming is dead", seriously it's always either call of duty or minecraft gameplay in the background, what's the deal with that?
And on the other end of the spectrum, you get video essays by people who play games professionally, complaining about how gaming "isn't fun" (they monetized the fun out of their hobby and burned out)

Are you talking about Blue Stinger? The game Nitro Rad talked about?
Nah, it's an upcoming game called Endless Blue, I had it right the first time

Oh yeah, I remember the rumblings about the Star Wars XCOM game awhile ago, hopefully that'll be neat
VTMB 2 is unique as we can see it degrade in real time *twice* per announcement, or *thrice* compared to original

@@PaganPilot IKR? I'd be crying if it weren't so funny
I fear a new half life would turn out like duke forever
Hopefully not. I think Valve probably has higher quality control than Gearbox
@@snesbagel Absolutely 100% agree.

They think gaming's dead because they only play two games and one is a series that's gone to shit lol
