All performance characteristic of these exhausts, when considering only the change of the exhaust with nothing additional, are very small and pretty insignificant. Even taking off the couple pounds that sheds when you go aftermarket doesn't do much for you. You would have to go the distance, like on Bryan's bike.
Something I would like to see besides the modest HP gain is the weight savings or conversely, the lack thereof regarding these various add on systems. Weight loss is also equal to HP gain. Maybe you guys could produce a much longer video, or an in part video series, detailing what modification combinations gained the most with these after market exhausts and the estimated or actual associated costs. I.e., header pipe and exhaust install equals a weight and horsepower gain over factory components. The factory system equals this amount of horse power and weighs x amount vs. the aftermarket system with and improved air filter and ECU mapping change, header pipe and aftermarket exhaust results in x overall horsepower and weight savings. I do not know what the catalytic converter weighs, but it is sure to be a fair amount. A video or a series of videos like that would be a very interesting video for those of us who just do some online research and guess a bit at what would be best and thus attempt moderate modifications to achieve these goals.

Nothing wrong with that man. 600's are awesome. We ride and race anything we can get our hands on...from 125's to 1000's. They are all fun and require a different skill set. Collecting all those skill sets makes you a better overall rider. The autotune will do a lot of good for you on its own if you know how to set it up. If you do take it to the dyno make sure you can give the tuner access to your ignition timing if you want the most out of that setup.
These videos don't make money. We just do them from time to time as a side project. Sure, it would be nice to have nough time and personnel to make all these project videos, but we must stay the course and take care of business most of the time.
Back in the old days (and for some of us that still have really old bikes), would carbureted motorcycles have gotten bigger gains than fuel injection (FI) because the carbs could be rejetted to supply more fuel but with FI that doesn't occur unless the intake is modified to send more air through? I have a Two Brothers slip-on installed on a '95 Honda CB1000 and it worked pretty well. Wondering if having carbs helped.
This is a very good question. Re-jetting carbs is the olden days equivalent of FI tuning. Re-jetting on most bikes involved changing main jets, pilot jets, plugging air passages, changing slide springs and needles, and shimming the needles up or down. Nowadays we use a piggyback fuel computer or re-flash the ECU to precisely tune the A/F mixture. For this video we wanted to show how little effect you get if you just install a slipon exhaust. This is a modification that most people make to their bike, and most of them just leave it at that, swearing that it made some sort of noticeable difference, and contending that one brand of exhaust does better than others in a considerable way. This video was meant to be a myth bust as we gear up to shoot subsequent videos showing the progress of a bike through different stages of bolt-ons and tuning. As you can see from Bryan's bike, which was tuned through repeatedly flashing the ECU until a good balance point, more gains are there if you tune the bike properly. I do believe that a proper tune on the bike with the stock exhaust provides more performance gain than changing just the back end of the exhaust system.
i think you guys are also forgetting to mention the weight loss when dropping the oem system. the under tail exhaust hangs the heaviest part up high and in the rear.
Hey @TST I have 2 identical CBR 600 RR 2009, one with ABS and the other without ABS, both have Akrapovic. But the one with ABS have -40km/h Vmax. Why??? I noticed that I can rev in the redline 17k but when I in 6th gear it wont go pass 13,5k rpm.
The Yoshi sounds best out of these. I had this bike with a titanium Moriwaki slip on with the power commander 3 and k&n exhaust. Was Dyno’d at 112.9 hp at wheel. Awesome bike.
Quick question? Why not include the Leo Vince exhaust as it is top tier right? What's your thoughts on the slip on leo for the 2013cbr600rr? Not much content on that company.
we had Leo Vince in our first sound comparison video but sold it soon after. Then we were left with four other popular systems and that is what we did the next two project videos on.
im riding pc41 2011, did put ixil x55 exhaust on it. only thing i noticed riding was the dropped torque on lower rpm's and maybe (just bearly maybe) little gain on higher rpm's with the stock tune. also it sounds like someones strangling a cat with catalysator still on it. xD going to decat, change filter to better flow, ecu flash on dyno and other things to it.. other option i have in mind is to sell it and buy bigger bike, would maybe be cheaper option too :D ps: sorry for my bad english =)
TOCE exhaust ALL DAY!!!! 🔥🔥 sounds amazing. Plan on buying a full system but can’t decide yet whether I should do that or get a slip on. Feel like it would better to do a full system and tune. Not even for more power, just for the bike to run better and more consistent.
They are all equally matched, and how they come from the factory. Each one of these exhausts uses a glass packing around a perforated metal tube for muffling. The Toce just has two smaller diameter and shorter glass packed muffling elements instead of one large long one as per the other presented exhausts.
I'm super late to the party here. This is interesting. I have a 2012 with an Akra Slip on and I made 105 at the wheel. I know all conditions and dynes are different. The Akra also saved me 3lbs 10oz and I think it looks the best too. Considering adding a cat delete pipe to open it up a bit more.
To have a true comparison you would have to dyno your bike in stock form, then with your slip on, take the percentage gain and compare it to ours. To add to this, every bike will measure a bit different.
I don't think you understood the proof the video presented. Perhaps you didn't watch all of it. The difference in performance between all of these exhausts is so miniscule that it really doesn't matter which one you get.
@@TSTindustries Fellas.....I understand exactly what you were doing and set out to accomplish. Yes....slip ons do not add any meaningful power....they couldn't....in the 90's slip ons yield 4 or 5 HP and 2 lbs of torque . My point was the Akrapovic yielded the 2nd best results in a small field. I can watch it again but I don't think you supplied A/F readings. The Akra fits well, makes a little more power but is a well made piece of equipment. Here's the stuff I have done lately......www.dragbike.com/collins-cooper-past-becoming-future/?fbclid=IwAR3sRoLq4da6sxpQpnV314P2i00x-vZM03RWUXlo-2kdXe69-YInJKUkTrc I redesigned, rebuilt those engines etc etc etc etc. My point ......I know exactly what you dudes are doing. Christ....I make a billet block to take SOHC 750's out to 72 mm from a stock of 61mm. My 75 SOHC makes 105HP.....but you guys weren't even born in 1975. And....it was lucky to make 50 HP on a great day after a fresh tune up and only 2,000 miles on the engine new. The only way to get real HP out of those recent Honda engines is to dump the CAT and get the squish to .035 or .032.....Honda buries those pistons deep in the hole. Get the squish tight and you'll start making real power. I may have forgotten more then you fellas will know about motorcycle engines. No disrespect intended as I am fairly old.
I think the two brothers looks the best on the bike of the 4 followed by the Yoshi but I just think the Jardine rt1 is the one I'm in love with. also like the Leo Vince
That is a loaded question...how far do you want to go? Do you want to get into the motor or do you want to know what to do without modifying engine internals? There are several parameters missing from your question. If you watch our R3 Superbike Build show you will see how to increase all measurable performance characteristics on a bike.
Awesome series of videos guys. What did he do to his CBR to get HP gains like that? I’m looking to get either a TBR or Yoshi full exhaust and tune for my ‘19 600rr. Is there any concerns I should have or different mods I should consider?
If you want to maximize your gains from what you already listed then consider a good air filter also, and make sure that the tune is done on the dyno with torque optimization, tuning ingnition and fuel. You can get close to Bryan's numbers. His motor has a thinner head gasket and degreed cams on top of the bolt-on stuff so his peak figures and curve are going to be tough to reach without getting into your motor.
😲Wow greate vid... Never seen before on You Tube this kind of comparative test👏👏👏👏. So I want to ask When is coming in test 1000RR 2017-2019 stoc vs vs SP or SP2???? With same exha that you have on CBR 600 🙏Thank you💯❤️
My opinion would be biased because we only deal Toce and Yoshimura. There are many good slipon exhausts out there, and as we proved with this video, just slipons will not vary greatly between each other in performance. Just get the one that suits your taste best.
This bike was gone over carefully and built into a supersport spec machine that ended up winning some championships. The several things you asked about would not make this bike competitive enough.
You failed to mention the weight savings over stock? I have 2brothers titiunium slip-on is in insanely light. I agree the extra 20 horsepower costs a bundle of money and tuning!
Thin jead gasket, 3 angle valve job, cam degree, full exhaust, MWR air filter, lots of tuning. That is on the engine side. A lot of work went into chassis and electrical too.
When can you do a dyno test on a naked Honda CB650R, with several brands of exhaust, for example, Arrow Pro Race, Akrapovic Racing Line and Mivv MK3. Half power naked, it would also help, hehe
@@andremoreira7323 there is no one set rule on what you are asking. Entire books have been written on this subject. Diameter of the exhaust governs how much volume can potentially flow through exhaust per amount of time. The distance from head to ambient governs which rpm range will be affected by acoustics of the system. Other parameters like number of cylinders, crossover points in exhaust, primary header geometry, number and size of valves, angle of valves, cam timing need to be considered (and that is not the complete list). So i am not equipped to answer your question in any correct way. All I can say is that if you are buying a slipon exhaust you are just changing the look of your exhaust, and potentially adding noise. Generally not much will be gained in the form of performance, at least not in the way where the what you pay vs what you get is a good value. Far better value performance increases come from suspension tuning, and weight reduction.
@@TSTindustries I'm going to install a complete exhaust with manifolds and slip-on. If you can get bigger strips, you'll win. I see some exhausts are wide and others are smaller/longer.
We did a thinner head gasket on that bike. When we had the head off the bike we cut a third angle in the valve seats. We also did a cam degree to move some of the power up higher. Besides that the rest was all bolt-on and tuning. As you saw in the vid he had a full Arrow exhaust, a racing high flow filter by MWR, Woolich Racing flashing software, 520 pitch lightweight drive train, etc. The bike was tuned by our staff here. Pretty minimal SS build actually. I was basing my answer on you probably just wanting to match the engine output to Bryan's. There were many things done to that bike that improved its performance outside of power delivery. Things like suspension, mass removal, geometry/suspension setup, pit performance enhancements, etc.
It really depends on the budget you are on and how much performance you want to free up with this endeavor. The 929 is a familiar beast to me. I have owned 2 of them. I actually made the exhaust for the first one I owned. That bike was released before the environmental laws for vehicles became very strict. There is no catalytic converter box on the exhaust. It does have a valve body, and a pre-muffler in the collector pipe just fore of the silencer. Once you get rid of the OEM silencer and get a good flowing one (like the Yoshimura you mentioned), you've done most of what you can do for the bike in respect to the exhaust. You can go with a full exhaust and take advantage of less in-line components for a lighter weight and stronger output. This performance will not manifest itself unless you actually tune the bike though. A better use of your money would be to get a really good flowing air intake filter and get the bike dyno tuned by a reputable shop with a piggyback fuel computer, or re-flashing the ECU. Just a bolton of a different exhaust will not give you much advantage over what you already have.
Finally some honesty in the product sales world.
Every sticker I threw on my bike is about a 5hp gain
Do you have any TST stickers?

Love the production quality
Thank you. We put so much time and effort into our videos but not everyone notices.
Akra in my opinion looks awesome and more to stock than the rest
Please please please do full systems next
TOCE exhaust ALL DAY!!!! 🔥🔥 sounds amazing. Plan on buying a full system but can’t decide yet whether I should do that or get a slip on. Feel like it would better to do a full system and tune. Not even for more power, just for the bike to run better and more consistent.
Love the toce sound
Is there a reason the toce exhaust has the baffles in while the others don't?
They are all equally matched, and how they come from the factory. Each one of these exhausts uses a glass packing around a perforated metal tube for muffling. The Toce just has two smaller diameter and shorter glass packed muffling elements instead of one large long one as per the other presented exhausts.
Fantastic sound,nice👍👍
I'm super late to the party here. This is interesting. I have a 2012 with an Akra Slip on and I made 105 at the wheel. I know all conditions and dynes are different. The Akra also saved me 3lbs 10oz and I think it looks the best too. Considering adding a cat delete pipe to open it up a bit more.
To have a true comparison you would have to dyno your bike in stock form, then with your slip on, take the percentage gain and compare it to ours. To add to this, every bike will measure a bit different.
I'm the same as well 108 at the wheel
I know im a year late watching this but goddamn that toce exhaust sounded godly 👌 will it sound better if its full system toce exhaust?
What about on the smaller 400cc class bikes or cbr250rr???
which CBR 600RR model is this, I'm interested in the armor and the Toca exhaust is a fantasy 👌
@@Dapic46 this is a 2007-2008 model.
No surprise with the Akrapovic.....perhaps the the finest exhaust systems in existence. Fit, finish and performance....especially the Ti systems.
Yes....slip ons do not add any meaningful power....they couldn't....in the 90's slip ons yield 4 or 5 HP and 2 lbs of torque
.
My point was the Akrapovic yielded the 2nd best results in a small field. I can watch it again but I don't think you supplied A/F readings.
The Akra fits well, makes a little more power but is a well made piece of equipment.
Here's the stuff I have done lately......www.dragbike.com/collins-cooper-past-becoming-future/?fbclid=IwAR3sRoLq4da6sxpQpnV314P2i00x-vZM03RWUXlo-2kdXe69-YInJKUkTrc
I redesigned, rebuilt those engines etc etc etc etc.
I think the two brothers looks the best on the bike of the 4 followed by the Yoshi but I just think the Jardine rt1 is the one I'm in love with. also like the Leo Vince
best quality video, thumbs up
Awesome vid! My 07' CBR600 is getting some mods soon!
When will you guys get toce back in stock for the cbr 600rr?
What L brackets did you guys use for the two brother’s exhaust?
yoshimura is perfect for the 600rr
Besides exhaust and intake, what else can you do to increase power on a bike?
That is a loaded question...how far do you want to go? Do you want to get into the motor or do you want to know what to do without modifying engine internals? There are several parameters missing from your question. If you watch our R3 Superbike Build show you will see how to increase all measurable performance characteristics on a bike.
@@TSTindustries Thank you. I'll be sure to watch it when I get a chance.
Me gustaría saber qué función asen las tres palanquita que están de lado abajo de el puño iquierdo
TSTindustries I appreciate the information. Thank you.
I run a full leovince SBK titan system with kit electronics, cams, pistons etc... on my 07 RR PC40
Thank you for this High quality videos!! greetings from germany
Glad you like them! Cheers from Florida
😲Wow greate vid... Never seen before on You Tube this kind of comparative test👏👏👏👏.
So I want to ask When is coming in test 1000RR 2017-2019 stoc vs vs SP or SP2???? With same exha that you have on CBR 600
🙏Thank you💯❤️
In your experience and opinion, what is the best size or long tip for a suzuki gsxr 1000 K5?
The bike is in stock.
Thanks
My opinion would be biased because we only deal Toce and Yoshimura. There are many good slipon exhausts out there, and as we proved with this video, just slipons will not vary greatly between each other in performance. Just get the one that suits your taste best.
So brian what did you do to your bike exhaust air filter power commander and tune?
This bike was gone over carefully and built into a supersport spec machine that ended up winning some championships. The several things you asked about would not make this bike competitive enough.
My Dream Bike CBR600rr♥
Slip ons like you guys said are about looks and noise. Please get a liter bike next
The decommisioned 2015 R1 race bike is still sitting in the shop. Maybe we will make a similar vid on that.
TSTindustries please do it for the r1 I’d love to see the results. 🔥
TSTindustries That would be nice
Toce also possible on the cbr600rr pc37 from 2003?
You would have to reach out to Toce Performance directly.
Appreciate that great video.
Wanna see a video on best exhaust dyno for kawasaki Z400?
Does toce make full system? Can’t find it anywhere. Even on their official website.
They do not make a full system for this bike.
Where can i find the Blanking Plates, which you use in this Video for strap down
What about weight loss?
You failed to mention the weight savings over stock? I have 2brothers titiunium slip-on is in insanely light. I agree the extra 20 horsepower costs a bundle of money and tuning!
Yea, the OE exhaust is a tank.
600rr is a beautiful engine. I like the deeper tone Toce add to the mix.
I just wish Honda continued developing the model and not just provide the old design for the last decade
@@TSTindustries 100% agree. With the new z4rr, I hope Honda will add some new player in the game.
Why didn’t you guys test hindle as well
We didn't get the chance to get one in. Buying exhausts just for testing gets expensive.
What year is this?
The bike? 2007
Would like to know whats done to brians Cbr 600rr
Thin jead gasket, 3 angle valve job, cam degree, full exhaust, MWR air filter, lots of tuning. That is on the engine side. A lot of work went into chassis and electrical too.
When can you do a dyno test on a naked Honda CB650R, with several brands of exhaust, for example, Arrow Pro Race, Akrapovic Racing Line and Mivv MK3. Half power naked, it would also help, hehe
@@andremoreira7323 we don’t foresee ourselves doing that at this time but that may change in the future.
@@TSTindustries From the tests you have carried out, what is the difference between long vs short and large vs small exhausts!!?
How about some weight stats?
Toce is love 😍
‼️😍🤤⚡️🤙🏾
Awesome video!
Would love to know what I need to buy from you all to get my bike in line with Bryan's... Parts list please :)
@@TSTindustries thank you so so much for the great reply 🙏🔥
i have a 2brothers slip-on now on my '13 600RR, do you recommend an air filter and power commander for more hp? Thanks
That and a proper dyno tune by a reputable shop. Then you will actually see and feel a difference.
Bellissimo Video, dove posso trovare il sottocoda 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻?
I would like to get contact with you guys I'm looking to Repurchase a rr 600 .. how can you assist ?.
Hello I have a 02 929 and currently have a yoshimura slip on , on my exhaust
In your opinion what would be the best exhaust for my bike ?
