I would argue with that but it's all personal opinion... but Mike Patton blows ALL out the water with his 6 octaves. That's more than Axl, Bach... even Mariah Carey and her whistle note!
@@rowanmayfair9249 Amazing range but indeed not the widest of the club : Mike Patton and un whole bunch of others beat him in ths area of expertise ;) ... What's almost unique with Sebastian Bach though, was his nearly infinite energy, always at his maximum without any compromise
@Wendy Dotson that was in the documentary on Skid Row I am a strong fan of Sebastian Bach and his life story. Knowing that his music was his life he had one person that support's his life and career that got him off the drugs and alcohol. Check out the documentary.
3:19 Watch that feeling come onto her face😄. Could tell she liked the next lyric and was feeling it. It is beautiful and heartwarming. “You said ‘I love you, babe’” without a sound. We all know that look when we’re in a relationship with somebody. 👍🏻
I was 15 when this came out, and it put this band into big time stardom. Around that time, we couldn't get enough of them. We were seriously spoiled with great music in the 1980's.
I was 16 when their debut album came out and I bought it right away. I was learning how to play guitar and just had to learn all the songs on the album. Scotti's solo was amazing and no one knew what to make of the off-note squeal at the end of the solo but we absolutely loved it! This song was most people's introduction to Sebastian Bach and he had the best pipes in Hard Rock imo. My absolute favorites of theirs are Wasted Time, 18 and Life, I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, and Sweet Little Sister.
Ya gotta see the official video. As Sebastian says on Hair Nation, “I put the hair in Hair Nation”. He had hair that every girl wanted and also the face 😘😘! Hubba Hubba 😍😍
Sebastian Bach is rock vocal legend. I saw them open for Bon Jovi in 1989. Fun fact: he didn’t write these lyrics. Rachel Bolan and Dave Sabo wrote it. Sebastian was such a pro that he threw his soul out on these lyrics though. Please watch the video and/or live performances from back in the day for this track. Baz was pitchy sometimes but that’s because he was taking huge risks vocally. Legend. I love to see younger people appreciate how legit of a song this is too. Cheers to you both! ❤
My first concert ever was seeing Skid Row open up for Guns and Roses. Both bands were incredible, but one of the highlights was Sebastian Bach coming out when Guns and Roses was on and singing "You're Crazy" for them.
Good ole 80’s power ballad, one of the best that came just as this era was over. First heard it in college 89 and it was a bright lights stunner. Keep up the great work!
If that doesn’t hit you in the feels, you aren’t alive, Sebastian Bach drilled this song and is timeless as did the band.. This is one of those songs you should see the bad. In the video, it’s even better. Just be like water, don’t over think it, flow…let the good times roll, it’s how we did it in the 80s what’s missing today, everyone has to over analyses everything instead of just be in the moment and enjoy it, those are the times as fleeting as they are you never forget and you don’t need a iPhone to capture.🤘
Check out Wasted Time. It's about Steven Adler (former drummer of Guns and Roses) and his addiction to heroin. Mind blowing vocals. Do the original video it's worth the watch.
That verse at the end when he screams "I never thought, I never thought you'd let it get this far..." raises the hairs on my body every time. Such an awesome song!!
This made 4th grade me cry lol. I loved Skid Row so much as a kid. Hope you check out the actual music videos. Youth Gone Wild, 18 and Life, and this one are all great ones. 18 and Life if you want to get in your feels.
You should do some slaughter as well. Mark slaughter has a voice almost as good as sebastian. Up all night, days gone by, hard to say goodbye, loaded gun, spend my life, and shout it out.
Yeah, you have to see Bach in this time period to truly get it. The whole package. The man had the voice, the look the charisma. God created the perfect frontman in him. Unfortunately, he couldn’t be perfect so God also made him the equivalent of an ADHD toddler on speed off stage which made hime extremely chaotic and hard to deal with, but hey, you can’t have everything. 😂😂😂 Now do Wasted Time by them…it was written about Steven Adler, the drummer for Guns N Roses and his heroin habit. That song absolutely guts me and arguably one of Bas’ greatest vocal performance, and that’s saying something.
1990 Skid Row opened for Aerosmith. I was 10 years old and it was my first concert. Went with my older brother and sister and all of their rocker friends. Scary and amazing at the same time.
Omg! I so would have loved to see that my favorite group is Aerosmith and I love skid row. My first concert was at 9 and it was whitesnake. Probably 91’ or 92’
Big fan of this Album when it came out, "18 and Life" was the song of summer of '89 for me. I wish this band had better song writers or something after this album, it seems like they were full of talent but needed better material.
This album came out when I was in high school and this is one of those song that brings back so many memories from that time period. If you want to hear them get hard and heavy I suggest the song “Slave to the Grind”
18 and life, youth gone wild, monkey business, wasted time were some of their other hits. If I remember right, this album was written and recorded for a while as they searched for a singer…Sebastian was who they found. And I think he’s still playing live shows to this day.

I love the original line up of Skid row. It makes more sense if she sees Sebastian: he was as beautiful as his voice and made you relieve in the rock ballad
This is one of my favorite songs, I remember when it came out on MTV. If you haven't seen the video. It will fill in the blanks. But my take on the song/video is the lost of a true love.
You need to react to wasted time by skid row. The lead singer Sebastian Bach has the most amazing vocal range. Thier second album slave to the grind was the first metal album to debut at # 1 on the billboard chart. If you like wasted time try quick sand Jesus.
When ppl ask what do the lyrics pertain too. Think of the eye of the beholder and switch it too the ear of the beholder. No two ppl are the same and interpret it too what and how they want too make them feel about a person they knew or maybe even had a strong feeling for but were not allowed the same experiences.

So this a song from a relationship that Sebastian Bach had that unfortunately she passed away. Flawless song and singer is amazing!!!

The song was written before Bach joined the band.
Bach, although an amazing singer, had zero to do with the lyrics.
Sebastian didn’t write the lyrics to any of the songs off this first album. With that being said, he still sang the shit out of them amazingly.
