Pro-Pain is a New York-based metal and hardcore band formed in 1991 by vocalist and bass guitarist Gary Meskil and drummer Dan Richardson, both former members of Crumbsuckers. Their debut album Foul Taste of Freedom was released in 1992, displaying hardcore punk and rap metal influences, after which the band was signed to Roadrunner Records, who reissued the album the following year

Jake Davis Jake Davis you are excused!But, even if you consider it thrash (which is a matter of labeling it one way or another), does that make it NOT heavy, NOT aggressive, NOT raw. And most important, if you can’t dance to the groove of Johnny Black or Murder 101, then you are missing something. Anyway, great excuse to go back to this album. Circa 2007, I recollect hanging out at his garage listening to Foul Taste Of Freedom at loud volume! I remember times when we'd relax, as I remember times when we were thrashing all about.

Saw this tour in Cincinnati with testament and green jelly opening..it was my first time hearing pro pain..i got hooked on the shit 🤘
Saw the same tour in Orlando, by then they had already become my favorite band and still are to this day. Just wish stupid Americans would realize their greatness so they would come back and tour here.

I can still clearly remember the first time I heard "Pound for Pound" -- my friend & I were driving around his neighborhood late at night -- I made him stop the car so we could listen to the song again!

The main riffs from Death on the Dance Floor and EGBDF are just so bad ass.

wow, today a phrase " pro pain" popped out of my head and I realized that when I was in high school in the 90's, we used to listen to the band PRO PAIN. Of course this first album. Later on also the second album. Those were the days of our lives. Together with Pantera, Nirvana, Tool, Alice in Chains and RHCP of course. Good music will never die, though we will some day:)
Absolutely phenomenal display of metal songwriting and performance. Definitely right near the top of my list of best metal albums ever!

This album means everything to me. This album, Fear "the Record", and The Meatmen "Pope On A Rope" were 3 CDs I always had in my truck as a kid in the late late 90s and early 2000s. They were my absolutely favorite lost gems of music.

I used to wear this cassette out back in the day! Unfortunatly, as many albums as they have put out since this they havent come close to topping this one.
I agree. I scored a copy of this at my local record store (which has long since gone out of business) as well as Fear "The Record" and The Meatmen "Pope On A Rope" and all 3 are amazing albums.

I bought this album on vinyl the first week it came out, as couldnt get it anywhere on CD in any of my local music stores at the time. Still have it, in mint condition, still love hearing it. Great band, great record.

I think the only reason they don't carry it is cause parts of it could be seen as racist and today's companies are so worried about recoil that they try to steer clear of media that may cause problems.
But I love this album also. I still have it and play it in the car quite often because the music still hits hard
I first saw pro-pain open for exodus and body count in either 1992 or 93. I had never heard of pro-pain, but instantly fell in love. I stood right in front of their speaker for the whole set. The bass made my body move.

Hell Yeah! I owned this album when it came out when i was in H.S. ...my Metalhead friends and i used to kick it to this album. And all the other trendy dumb ass kids were listening to Nirvanna & Smashing pumpkins cuz that's what was so-called cool at the time. Deadhorse, White Zombie, Slayer, Propain, Pantera, etc. that's what we were listening to! These days it's machine gun kelly & skinny jeans! Ha!
