Some pickups i had were super microphonic, so I asked my grandpa if I could have the spare wax candles that've been in his cabinet for years, and in a saucepan with candles, pulled an EVH, and potted the pickups myself. Also love the Sultans of Swing solo you snuck in here!
That's pretty cool, were you worried it might not work out? could you imagine if people just started exploring "tone scents" lol.
@@jordanfreeman4170 TONE SCENTS LOL
I like how the pickups make it look. It makes me think if Jason Becker used a Nuno guitar.
Id love a history of washburn video if you would be down for that, I feel like they don't get talked about much but they have some really cool stuff, I mostly only ever see their acoustics.
Yeah seems like they've mainly become an acoustic brand at this point sadly. I could make a video about them 🤔
@@sixstringtv1I was about to say “except they still make basses” but that’s Warwick I’m thinking of
My very first guitar was a washburn I always wanted one of the Dimbag one's
From what I heard they were the 3rd largest guitar company in the 80’s by sales.
Shure sponsor is awesome! Also those pickups look amazing
I have a 91 N2 and it is one of my favorite guitars. Always will be one of the best shred guitars out there.
The natural finish on this guitar looks amazing!
My fave thing to do to bolt neck guitars is called "popping it's knuckle". What you do is, when the guitar is tuned to the desired tuning, loosen the neck bolts about 1/4 of a turn. Retune, and you should hear a small pop or crack from the neck moving forward and into the butt of the neck joint. After that, retighten the screws and check tuning once again. At that point, you should have a perfect three dimensional contact area between the neck and body.
Super Nice sounding pickups.
Now they are some nice pickups! Look incredible and sound mean! Nicely done sir
6:03 Very good Sultans of Swing Solo. Also, the shirt you are wearing looks amazing.
Hawaiian shirts rule.
7stringtv 8 9stringtv 😱. Those pickups look awesome on that guitar man.
anyway to tell between a korean and japanese version? Online examples of both are almost identical. Japanese ones are never marked and korean ones sometimes have a sticker or stamp stating it is MiK
This one said Crafted in Japan
@@sixstringtv1 Thanks for the reply! Where on the guitar it did it say crafted in japan?
Don't remember tbh and I just sold it very recently but I do remember it saying so
I have one that I brought from china when i worked there. It's almost in as good shape as yours, though probably not as old. I like almost everything about it except the finish. I'm actually considering just painting mine a color I like, there is just this weird thign about guitars. Sometimes you can't put your finger on exactly why they are or aren't appealing
6:01 Using a pick there is a sacrilege. Nice video though, cheers mate.
I can't play fingerstyle I'm sorry Mark Knopfler 😩😩
@@sixstringtv1 I can't either but I'm giving it a try. MK sweeps with his thumb and index finger this bastard haha
@@sixstringtv1you know what helped me with finger style? Learning to play uke. Don’t ask me why that helped, but it did - maybe having less strings to content with? I suddenly realized I could do finger style on my guitar after like 2 years of trying and giving up, lol. It just seemed to click all of a sudden.
Still, I’m no Mark Knopfler. Not by a long shot. But it’s still good enough to let me fake it till I make it! 😂😂😂
Looks like SixStringTV is about start a FourStringTV channel on his quest to finger style greatness! 😉👍🏻
Those colored pickups on a guitar like that remind me of the Jason Becker numbers guitar.
Hello nice tone :) what is your signal chain for this video?
My favorite also. Only one i got. Like my leer jet😂
Did you borrow a fan of Steve Vai? The hair looks so majestic blowing in the breeze
I've dubbed my fan "Steven" in his honor.
@@sixstringtv1 nice, cheers
The bill Lawrence pickup used by dimebag and still use by Nuno is not at all a Bill Lawrence USA which is on the N2 because Bill Lawrence had lost his trademark in 1984 after a lawsuit won by Lawrence Electro Sound (own by Jzchak Wajcman)
If you want a real L500XL and even if Bill passed few years ago, you can still order one on wylde pickups (company manage by his wife)
Didn’t they have a right hand neck when they built this thing?
My uncle has this exact guitar and it’s been 14 years since I wanted to steal it from him hahah
If you ever find a chance to do it, you should do a review on Tesla pick-ups, Kaylen... Nice video as always!
I quite enjoyed their booth at NAMM. Might hit them up and see what happens!
Hell yeah.
Why are two screws missing on the pickup ring?🤔
Cause the Bill Lawrence L500 has a really unique shape, and the original pickup ring was made specifically for that rounder shape. So I had to use a different one, with slightly different screw hole placement 😩
fuck yeah Nuno!
Ok, now I have to buy those pickups...
I gotta ask vermilion for an affiliate link 🤣
@@sixstringtv1 You do that, I'll be the first to use it 😶🌫
Poul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen did color guitars and best of those Jason Becker did too. I like it and ofcause what you do i have done for those 30 years. Keep up METAL 😁
Do you put fan in front of you when recording ? Lol
Yes!
the guitars ive seen of this model doesnt have neckplate like that they have this crazy c shaped plate
That's the N4, not the N2. Has the crazy deep Stevenson's cutaway and the different bolt-on construction. I don't like it 😂
@@sixstringtv1 oh ok didn't know they made one like yours or i might have bought one neckjoint what turned me away from it
YOU GOT RID OF THE BILL LAWRENCE GIVE IT TO ME NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WTFFFFFFF 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol, "CAThory"
😂
The pickups sound amazing! Still, I wish you didn’t desecrate this Washburn of all of them. Now you may as well go hog wild at this point cause why not make it look like Rainbow Bright’s dream guitar?! 🌈🎸 😂😉
this is how I know I’m an old head at heart
IF YOURE GONNA PLAY SALTINES OF SWING YOU ARE REQUIRED TO FINGER PICK NO EXCEPTIONS
don’t listen to me
I’m just talking shit and for sure can’t play it so play it how you want
I can't fingerpick for shit hahah, one day I'll learn it the right way
Wait. Is no one else getting major numbers guitar vibes of this now?
Yeah! Nuno and Jason are two of my favorites 😎
So... basically a Jason Becker Numbers?
But cooler 😎
I just bought one of these for $180 at a pawn shop
is that cathory? Miau
True Nuno heads simply must have the mixed tuners... and black nails. Also new pups are really ugly IMHO, but by all means, you do you ;) Maybe on a Becker Numbers..
Is it true that this guitar is worth around $1,000+?
Has no inherent value since they don't make it anymore, but if someone pays that much I suppose it's worth that much
@@sixstringtv1cause I went to Google to look it up cause I've never heard or seen that guitar in my life & it said it was worth 1k.
You should buy a real N4.
just saying of u dont want those pickup ill sure have em
My guitar teacher had an N4 but he threw it in the middle of a crowd at a show. He said it was the right moment... FIRST COMMENT AWAR
Edit: I reloaded the page and saw two comments before me. I am sad now
